« Verse-176 »
وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَاهُ بِهَا وَلَكِنَّهُ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى الأَرْضِ وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ذَّلِكَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا فَاقْصُصِ الْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
English Transliteration: Va lav shi’nea la raafaa’neahu bihea va leakinnahoo aahlada ileal aardı vattabaaa haveahu, fa masaluhu ka masalil kalb(kalbi), in taahmil aalayhi yalhas av tatrukhu yalhas, zealika masalul kaavmillazeena kazzaboo bi eayeatinea, faaksusil kaasaasaa laaallahum yatafakkaroon(yatafakkaroona).
And if We had willed, We would certainly have exalted him with it (Our Verses). But he clung to the earth and followed his own vain desire (vices of his soul). So his parable is as the parable of a dog: “If you pay attention to him he pants, and if you leave him alone he still pants”. This is the parable of the people who deny Our Verses. Therefore relate the narrative that they may reflect.
