Ya Sin, Surah Ya Sin (Qur'an: Surat-36-Ya Sin)
Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem
By the wise Qur’an (full of Wisdom and Judgment).
Truly you are of the sent Messengers.
(You are) on Sıratı Mustakîm (the Path directed to Allah).
Sent down by Allah Who is All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.
That you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned. Because they are heedless.
Certainly the Word (of Allah) has proved true over most of them. They no longer believe (they do not wish to reach Allah while they are living).
Surely We have put on their necks chains that reach up to their chins. Therefore they are the ones whose heads are raised aloft.
And We have covered them putting a barrier before and after them. They no longer see.
And it is equal for them whether you warn them or warn them not. They do not become âmenû (they do not wish to reach Allah before death).
You warn only him who follows the Reminder (Dhikr) and is in reverence towards the Most Beneficent in the Unseen (without seeing Him). Give him glad tidings of forgiveness (conversion of evil deeds into rewards) and the greatest reward.
Surely We give life to the dead, and We write down what they have presented and their works and We have recorded everything in Imam-ı Mubin (the Clear Guide).
And give them the example of the dwellers of the city. The Messengers had come to them.
We had sent to them two (Messengers), but they belied (denied) them both. Then We reinforced (them) with a third (Messenger). Then they said: “Surely we are the sent Messengers to you”.
They said: “You are only human beings like us, and the Most Beneficent has not sent down anything, you only lie”.
(The Messengers) said: “Our Lord knows that we have been sent to you as Messengers”.
And there is no responsibility upon us but a plain conveyance (of the Message).
They said: “Surely we endured bad luck from you. If you do not desist, we will certainly stone you, and a painful torment will touch you from us”.
They said: “Your bad luck is with you (your bad luck is from yourselves). (Do you endure bad luck) because you are reminded of the Dhikr (the truth)? Nay, you are an extravagant people (that crossed the line).
And from the farthest part of the city there came a man running. He said: “O my people, follow (depend on) the Messengers that are sent (to you)”.
Follow (depend on) to (those) who do ask no wages (for their conveyance) and they are the (Mahdis) guides (those who have reached Hidayet and make others to reach Hidayet).
And why should I not become a servant to Whom created me; to Him you shall be brought back!
Do I take besides Him gods? If the Most Beneficent intends me any harm, their intercession will be of no use for me whatsoever, nor can they save me.
If that was the case (if I worshipped idols), truly I certainly would be in plain Misguidance.
Indeed I have believed in your Lord, so hear me.
It was said (to him): “Enter heaven”! He said: “I wish my people had known”.
Therefore (had they known) my Lord has forgiven me and made me of the honored ones!
And We did not send down upon his people after him an army from the heaven, nor did We ever command them to be sent.
(Their punishment) was nothing but a single Saihah (a violent sound wave). Then they became the ones that turned off.
Shame on those servants! There never came a Messenger to them but they used to mock at him (they mocked them all).
Have they not seen how many of the generations We destroyed before them that they (those who had been destroyed) did not return to them?
And when all will gather together they (too) will be made to be present in Our Presence.
And the dead earth is a Sign (miracle) for them. We revived it and We brought forth from it grains so that they eat thereof.
And We have made therein gardens of date-palms and grapevines and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein.
That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and what their hands made it. Will they not then be still grateful?
Glory be to Him Who created all the pairs of what the earth grows, and of their souls and of what they do not know.
And the night is a Sign for them. We strip it of the day, and behold, they are in the darkness.
And the sun runs on in its orbit made steady for it. That is the Ordinance of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.
And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it returns (from the form of the full moon to the crescent moon) like the old dried curved date stalk.
It is not for the sun to over-take the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day; and all float on in their orbit.
And a Sign for them is that We bear their offspring in laden ships.
And We have created for them of the similar (vessels) thereof, on which they ride.
And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved.
Except a mercy from Us, and a provision till a determined time.
And it was said to them: “Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that you may be given mercy”.
Never comes a Verse of the Verses of their Lord to them but some did not turn away from it.
And when it is said to them; “Spend of that which Allah has provided you with”, those who disbelieve say to those who believe (who are âmenû); “Shall we feed him whom, if Allah willed, He would have fed? You are only in a plain Misguidance”.
And they say, “When will this promise be if you are truthful”?
They await but one Shout (a terrible sound wave) which will seize them while they argue with one another.
So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor can they return to their families.
And the Trumpet is blown. Then from their graves they come out quickly (fly, rise up) to their Lord.
They said: “Woe to us! Who has raised us from our graves? This is what the Most-Beneficent promised and the Messengers had told the truth”.
Only one Shout (a terrible sound-wave). Then they are all to be present in Our Presence.
So this Day (no) one is wronged with (any) thing or are you punished with anything except that which you used to do.
Surely the dwellers of heaven, that Day, are in an affair quite delightful.
They and their wives are in pleasant shade, reclining on raised thrones.
They have fruits therein and (every) thing they ask for.
(There is) a Word: “Peace” from the Lord, the Most Merciful.
And O you sinners! Get apart, this Day.
O Children of Adam, did I not take a Covenant from you, that you should not be servants to Satan? Surely he (Satan) is your obvious enemy.
And (did I not take a covenant) that you should become servants to Me? This is (to be on) Sıratı Mustakîm (the Path directed towards Allah).
And certainly he (Satan) left in Misguidance a great multitude of you. Do you still not, then, use your minds?
This is Hell which you were promised!
Prop yourselves against it (enter into it) this Day because you disbelieved.
Today, We seal up their mouths. Their hands speak to Us and their feet bear witness of what they earned (committed).
And if We had willed, We would certainly wreck havoc (blind) their eyes, then they would run about on the way. After this, how should they see?
And had We willed, We would surely have changed them in their places, then they would have been unable to go forward and backward.
And whomsoever We cause to live long, We reverse him in creation (take his strength away). Do they still not then use their minds?
And We have not taught him (the Prophet) poetry, and this would not be suitable for him. This is nothing else than a Reminder (Dhikr) and plain Qur'ân (that is revealed to him).
(The descent of the Qur'ân) is to warn those who are alive and that the Word (of the Torment) may prove true against the disbelievers.
Have they not seen how We have created animals for them, out of what Our hands (power)? So they possess them (the cattle).
And We have subdued them (the animals) unto them, so some of them they have to ride upon, and some of them they eat.
And therein they have (many) benefits and drinks (milk). Will they still not be grateful?
And they have taken gods besides Allah, hoping they may be helped.
They (those gods) cannot help them and they are a soldier made ready (to help) for them (those gods).
Therefore let not their speech grieve you. Surely We know what they conceal and what they disclose.
Has human not seen how We have created him from a Nutfah (drop of seed)? Then he became an open opponent to Us.
And he has coined for Us a similitude, forgetting his own creation. He said: “Who will give life to the bones when they are rotten away”?
Say: “He will revive them Who produced them at the first, and He is the All-Knowing of all creations”.
He Who has made for you the fire (oxygen) from the green tree, so that with it you kindle from it.
Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? Yes, He is the Supreme Creator, the All-Knowing.
His Command, when He wills (intends) anything, is only to say to it: “Be”! So it is.
Therefore Glory be to Him in Whose Hand is the Dominion of all things! And to Him you shall be brought back.
