كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّهِ وَلَوْ آمَنَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم مِّنْهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
English Transliteration: Kuntum haayraa ummatin uhricat lin neasi ta’muroona bil maa’roofi va tanhavna aanil munkari va tu’minoona billeah(billeahi), va lav eamana ahlul kiteabi la keana haayraan lahum, minhumul mu’minoona va aksaruhumul feasikoon(feasikoona).
You became the good individuals within the community (Umma, nation) that is raised up for mankind; you enjoin what is right (Al-Ma’rûf) and forbid what is wrong (Al- Munkar) and believe in Allah; and if the People of the Book had believed, it would have been better for them; of them some are believers and most of them are transgressors (Al-Fâsiqûn).
