Sura List » Ya-Seen

36/Ya-Seen-1: Yaseen
Yâ-Sin [These disjointed letters are one of the miracles of the Qur´ân, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].

36/Ya-Seen-2: Waalqurani alhakeemi
By the (infinitely) wise Qur´ân (the owner of Wisdom and Judgement).

36/Ya-Seen-3: Innaka lamina almursaleena
Truly you are of those sent (as Messengers).

36/Ya-Seen-4: AAala siratin mustaqeemin
(You are) on The Path directed (towards Allah).

36/Ya-Seen-5: Tanzeela alAAazeezi alrraheemi
This is a Revelation) sent down by the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.

36/Ya-Seen-6: Litunthira qawman ma onthira abaohum fahum ghafiloona
That you may warn a people whose (fore) fathers were not warned, so they are heedless.

36/Ya-Seen-7: Laqad haqqa alqawlu AAala aktharihim fahum la yuminoona
Certainly the Word (of Allah) has proved true against (over) most of them, so they do not believe (they do not wish to reach Allah while they are living).

36/Ya-Seen-8: Inna jaAAalna fee aAAnaqihim aghlalan fahiya ila alathqani fahum muqmahoona
Surely We have put on their necks chains and these reach up to their chins, so they have their heads raised aloft (and look down) [they are made stiff-necked].

36/Ya-Seen-9: WajaAAalna min bayni aydeehim saddan wamin khalfihim saddan faaghshaynahum fahum la yubsiroona
And We have made before them a barrier and a barrier behind them, then We have covered them over so that they do not see.

36/Ya-Seen-10: Wasawaon AAalayhim aanthartahum am lam tunthirhum la yuminoona
And it is alike to them whether you warn them or warn them not; they do not believe (they do not wish to reach Allah before dying).

36/Ya-Seen-11: Innama tunthiru mani ittabaAAa alththikra wakhashiya alrrahmana bialghaybi fabashshirhu bimaghfiratin waajrin kareemin
You warn only him who follows the Reminder (the Qur´ân, the dhikr) and is in awe of the All-Merciful (in the) Unseen (without seeing Him); To him bear the glad tidings of forgiveness (of the changing of evil deeds into rewards) and a generous reward.

36/Ya-Seen-12: Inna nahnu nuhyee almawta wanaktubu ma qaddamoo waatharahum wakulla shayin ahsaynahu fee imamin mubeenin
Surely We give life to the dead, and We write down (record) what they have sent before and their traces [their works (of art), remains] and everything We have recorded (with numbers) in a Clear Register. (Imâm-ı Mubîn, the title of a kind of Divine Knowledge and Command that looks to the Unseen World rather than the Seen World).

36/Ya-Seen-13: Waidrib lahum mathalan ashaba alqaryati ith jaaha almursaloona
And put forward to them a similitude ; the (story of the) dwellers of the city, when the Messengers came to them.

36/Ya-Seen-14: Ith arsalna ilayhimu ithnayni fakaththaboohuma faAAazzazna bithalithin faqaloo inna ilaykum mursaloona
When We sent to them two (Messengers), they belied (denied) them both; then We strengthened (reinforced) (them) with a third (Messenger), so they said: we have been sent to you (as Messengers).

36/Ya-Seen-15: Qaloo ma antum illa basharun mithluna wama anzala alrrahmanu min shayin in antum illa takthiboona
They (people of the city) said: You are only mortals (human beings) like ourselves, and the All-Merciful (God) has sent down anything; you only lie.

36/Ya-Seen-16: Qaloo rabbuna yaAAlamu inna ilaykum lamursaloona
They (the Messengers) said: Our Lord knows that we have indeed have been sent (as Messengers) to you.

36/Ya-Seen-17: Wama AAalayna illa albalaghu almubeenu
And nothing devolves on us but a plain conveyance (of the Message).

36/Ya-Seen-18: Qaloo inna tatayyarna bikum lain lam tantahoo lanarjumannakum walayamassannakum minna AAathabun aleemun
They said: Surely we augure evil from you; if you do not desist, we will certainly stone you, and a painful torment will touch you from us.

36/Ya-Seen-19: Qaloo tairukum maAAakum ain thukkirtum bal antum qawmun musrifoona
They said: Your evil augury is with you; what! (Do you call it “evil augury”) because you are reminded (of the dhikr, the truth)? Nay, you are an extravagant (Musrifûn) people.

36/Ya-Seen-20: Wajaa min aqsa almadeenati rajulun yasAAa qala ya qawmi ittabiAAoo almursaleena
And from the farthest part of the city there came a man running; he said: O my people! follow (depend on) the Messengers.

36/Ya-Seen-21: IttabiAAoo man la yasalukum ajran wahum muhtadoona
Follow (depend on) those who do ask no wages (for their communications) and they are guides [i.e those who have attained to Guidance and make (men) attain to Guidance, “Mahdis”].

36/Ya-Seen-22: Wama liya la aAAbudu allathee fataranee wailayhi turjaAAoona
And why should I not serve (become a servant to) Him Who brought me into existence? And to Him you shall be brought back;

36/Ya-Seen-23: Aattakhithu min doonihi alihatan in yuridni alrrahmanu bidurrin la tughni AAannee shafaAAatuhum shayan wala yunqithooni
What! Shall I take besides Him gods? If the All-Merciful intends me any harm, their intercession will be of no use for me whatsoever, nor can they deliver me.

36/Ya-Seen-24: Innee ithan lafee dalalin mubeenin
Then truly I should be in plain Misguidance.

36/Ya-Seen-25: Innee amantu birabbikum faismaAAooni
Indeed I have believed in your Lord, so hear me.

36/Ya-Seen-26: Qeela odkhuli aljannata qala ya layta qawmee yaAAlamoona
It was said (to him): Enter the Garden (Paradise). He said: O would that my people had known.

36/Ya-Seen-27: Bima ghafara lee rabbee wajaAAalanee mina almukrameena
Of that on account of which my Lord has forgiven me and made me of the honored ones! (of those who have been given generously).

36/Ya-Seen-28: Wama anzalna AAala qawmihi min baAAdihi min jundin mina alssamai wama kunna munzileena
And We did not send down upon his people after him any hosts from the heaven, nor do We ever send down.

36/Ya-Seen-29: In kanat illa sayhatan wahidatan faitha hum khamidoona
It was anything but a single Saihah (a violent soundwave) and behold! they were extinct (like ashes).

36/Ya-Seen-30: Ya hasratan AAala alAAibadi ma yateehim min rasoolin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona
Shame on those servants (Ah, the anguish for the servants, alas for the servants)! There never came a Messenger to them but they used to mock at him.

36/Ya-Seen-31: Alam yaraw kam ahlakna qablahum mina alqurooni annahum ilayhim la yarjiAAoona
Have they not seen how many of the generations We destroyed before them (and that) they (those who had been destroyed) did not return to them?

36/Ya-Seen-32: Wain kullun lamma jameeAAun ladayna muhdaroona
And (when all will gather together) they (too) will be made to be present (ready) in Our Presence.

36/Ya-Seen-33: Waayatun lahumu alardu almaytatu ahyaynaha waakhrajna minha habban faminhu yakuloona
And a Sign for them is the dead earth: We revive it (We give life to it) and We bring forth from it grain(s) so that they eat thereof.

36/Ya-Seen-34: WajaAAalna feeha jannatin min nakheelin waaAAnabin wafajjarna feeha mina alAAuyooni
And We have made therein gardens of date-palms and grapevines and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein.

36/Ya-Seen-35: Liyakuloo min thamarihi wama AAamilathu aydeehim afala yashkuroona
That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands did (not) make it; will they not then be grateful?

36/Ya-Seen-36: Subhana allathee khalaqa alazwaja kullaha mimma tunbitu alardu wamin anfusihim wamimma la yaAAlamoona
Glory be to Him Who created all the pairs of what the earth grows, and of themselves (of their souls) and of what they do not know.

36/Ya-Seen-37: Waayatun lahumu allaylu naslakhu minhu alnnahara faitha hum muthlimoona
And a Sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day, and behold, they are in the darkness.

36/Ya-Seen-38: Waalshshamsu tajree limustaqarrin laha thalika taqdeeru alAAazeezi alAAaleemi
And the sun runs on in its orbit made steady for it. [And the sun runs on its steady course for a term (appointed)]. That is the Ordinance (the Measuring) of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.

36/Ya-Seen-39: Waalqamara qaddarnahu manazila hatta AAada kaalAAurjooni alqadeemi
And (as for) the moon, We have ordained (measured) for it stages till it returns (from the form of the full moon to the crescent moon) like the old dried curved date stalk.

36/Ya-Seen-40: La alshshamsu yanbaghee laha an tudrika alqamara wala allaylu sabiqu alnnahari wakullun fee falakin yasbahoona
It is not (possible) for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstip the day; and all float on in a sphere (orbit).

36/Ya-Seen-41: Waayatun lahum anna hamalna thurriyyatahum fee alfulki almashhooni
And a Sign for them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship.

36/Ya-Seen-42: Wakhalaqna lahum min mithlihi ma yarkaboona
And We have created for them of the similar (vessels) thereof, on which they ride.

36/Ya-Seen-43: Wain nasha nughriqhum fala sareekha lahum wala hum yunqathoona
And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved. (rescued)

36/Ya-Seen-44: Illa rahmatan minna wamataAAan ila heenin
Unless (it be) a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment till a time.

36/Ya-Seen-45: Waitha qeela lahumu ittaqoo ma bayna aydeekum wama khalfakum laAAallakum turhamoona
And when it is said to them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that mercy may be had on you.

36/Ya-Seen-46: Wama tateehim min ayatin min ayati rabbihim illa kanoo AAanha muAArideena
Never came a Sign of the Signs of their Lord to them but they did turn away from it.

36/Ya-Seen-47: Waitha qeela lahum anfiqoo mimma razaqakumu Allahu qala allatheena kafaroo lillatheena amanoo anutAAimu man law yashao Allahu atAAamahu in antum illa fee dalalin mubeenin
And when it is said to them; Spend of that with which Allah has provided you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe (who are âmenû): Shall we feed him whom, if Allah willed, He would have fed? You are only in a plain Misguidance.

36/Ya-Seen-48: Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
And they say: When will this promise be (fulfilled) if you are truthful?

36/Ya-Seen-49: Ma yanthuroona illa sayhatan wahidatan takhuthuhum wahum yakhissimoona
They await but one Shout (a terrible soundwave) which will seize them while they yet contend with one another.

36/Ya-Seen-50: Fala yastateeAAoona tawsiyatan wala ila ahlihim yarjiAAoona
So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families.

36/Ya-Seen-51: Wanufikha fee alssoori faitha hum mina alajdathi ila rabbihim yansiloona
And the Trumpet is blown, and behold! From their graves they come out quickly (hasten on, fly, rise up) to their Lord.

36/Ya-Seen-52: Qaloo ya waylana man baAAathana min marqadina hatha ma waAAada alrrahmanu wasadaqa almursaloona
They will say (they said): Woe to us! Who has raised us from our sleeping-place? This is what the All-Merciful (God) promised and the Messengers told the truth.

36/Ya-Seen-53: In kanat illa sayhatan wahidatan faitha hum jameeAAun ladayna muhdaroona
It is but one Shout (a terrible soundwave) then behold! they are all made to be present (ready) in Our Presence.

36/Ya-Seen-54: Faalyawma la tuthlamu nafsun shayan wala tujzawna illa ma kuntum taAAmaloona
So this Day (of Resurrection) no soul is wronged in anything nor are you requited anything except that which you used to do.

36/Ya-Seen-55: Inna ashaba aljannati alyawma fee shughulin fakihoona
Surely the dwellers of the Garden (Paradise), that Day, are in an occupation quite delightful.

36/Ya-Seen-56: Hum waazwajuhum fee thilalin AAala alaraiki muttakioona
They and their wives are in pleasant shade, reclining on raised couches (thrones).

36/Ya-Seen-57: Lahum feeha fakihatun walahum ma yaddaAAoona
They will have fruits therein and they shall have whatever they ask for.

36/Ya-Seen-58: Salamun qawlan min rabbin raheemin
(There is) a Word: Peace! from a Most Merciful Lord.

36/Ya-Seen-59: Waimtazoo alyawma ayyuha almujrimoona
And get apart, this Day, O you criminals!

36/Ya-Seen-60: Alam aAAhad ilaykum ya banee adama an la taAAbudoo alshshaytana innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun
Did I not take a Covenant from you, O Children of Adam, that you should not serve (be servants to) Satan? Surely he is your open enemy.

36/Ya-Seen-61: Waani oAAbudoonee hatha siratun mustaqeemun
And that you should serve (become servants to) Me? This is (to be on) The Path directed (towards Allah).

36/Ya-Seen-62: Walaqad adalla minkum jibillan katheeran afalam takoonoo taAAqiloona
And certainly he (Satan) left in Misguidance a great multitude of you. Did you not, then, use your minds (understand)?

36/Ya-Seen-63: Hathihi jahannamu allatee kuntum tooAAadoona
This is Hell which you were promised!

36/Ya-Seen-64: Islawha alyawma bima kuntum takfuroona
Prop yourselves against it [enter (burn) into it] this Day because you disbelieved.

36/Ya-Seen-65: Alyawma nakhtimu AAala afwahihim watukallimuna aydeehim watashhadu arjuluhum bima kanoo yaksiboona
On that Day, We seal up their mouths and their hands speak to Us and their feet bear witness of what they earned.

36/Ya-Seen-66: Walaw nashao latamasna AAala aAAyunihim faistabaqoo alssirata faanna yubsiroona
And if We had willed, We would certainly have wiped out (put out) their eyes, then they would run about groping for the way, but how should they see?

36/Ya-Seen-67: Walaw nashao lamasakhnahum AAala makanatihim fama istataAAoo mudiyyan wala yarjiAAoona
And had We willed, We would surely have metamorphosed them in their places, then they would have been unable to go forward, nor they could have turned back.

36/Ya-Seen-68: Waman nuAAammirhu nunakkishu fee alkhalqi afala yaAAqiloona
And whomsoever We cause to live long, We reverse him in creation (making him regress to weakness after strength); do they not then use their minds (understand)?

36/Ya-Seen-69: Wama AAallamnahu alshshiAAra wama yanbaghee lahu in huwa illa thikrun waquranun mubeenun
And We have not taught him (the Prophet) poetry, nor is it meet for him; This is nothing else than a Reminder (Dhikr) and plain Qur´ân.

36/Ya-Seen-70: Liyunthira man kana hayyan wayahiqqa alqawlu AAala alkafireena
The descent of the Qur´ân is for this that it may warn him who is alive and (that) the Word (of the Torment) may prove true (may be justified) against the disbelievers.

36/Ya-Seen-71: Awalam yaraw anna khalaqna lahum mimma AAamilat aydeena anAAaman fahum laha malikoona
Have they not seen how We have created for them, out of Our hands have made, the cattle, so they possess them (the cattle).

36/Ya-Seen-72: Wathallalnaha lahum faminha rakoobuhum waminha yakuloona
And We have subdued them unto them, so some of them they have to ride upon, and some of them they eat.

36/Ya-Seen-73: Walahum feeha manafiAAu wamasharibu afala yashkuroona
And therein they have (other) benefits and drinks, will they not then be grateful?

36/Ya-Seen-74: Waittakhathoo min dooni Allahi alihatan laAAallahum yunsaroona
And they have taken gods besides Allah that they may be helped (by those so-called gods!)

36/Ya-Seen-75: La yastateeAAoona nasrahum wahum lahum jundun muhdaroona
They (those gods) cannot help them and they are a host made ready (to help) for them (those gods).

36/Ya-Seen-76: Fala yahzunka qawluhum inna naAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona
Therefore let not their speech grieve you; surely We know what they conceal and what they disclose.

36/Ya-Seen-77: Awalam yara alinsanu anna khalaqnahu min nutfatin faitha huwa khaseemun mubeenun
Has man not seen how We have created him from a drop of seed (Nutfah) Then behold! he is an open opponent (adversary).

36/Ya-Seen-78: Wadaraba lana mathalan wanasiya khalqahu qala man yuhyee alAAithama wahiya rameemun
And he has coined for Us a similitude, and has forgotten his own creation. He said: Who will revive (give life to) the bones when they are rotten away (and have become dust)?

36/Ya-Seen-79: Qul yuhyeeha allathee anshaaha awwala marratin wahuwa bikulli khalqin AAaleemun
Say: He will revive them Who produced them at the first, and He is the All-Knower of every creation.

36/Ya-Seen-80: Allathee jaAAala lakum mina alshshajari alakhdari naran faitha antum minhu tooqidoona
He Who has made for you the fire (oxygen) from the green tree, so that with it you kindle from it.

36/Ya-Seen-81: Awalaysa allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda biqadirin AAala an yakhluqa mithlahum bala wahuwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemu
Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the like of them? Yes, indeed! He is the Supreme Creator, the All-Knowing.

36/Ya-Seen-82: Innama amruhu itha arada shayan an yaqoola lahu kun fayakoonu
His Command, when He wills (intends) any thing, is only to say to it: Be! so it is.

36/Ya-Seen-83: Fasubhana allathee biyadihi malakootu kulli shayin wailayhi turjaAAoona
Therefore Glory be to Him in Whose Hand is the Dominion (the Kingdom) of all things! And to Him you shall be brought back (returned).
