Sura List » Ta-ha

20/Ta-ha-1: Taha
Tâ-Hâ [These disjointed letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’ân and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].

20/Ta-ha-2: Ma anzalna AAalayka alqurana litashqa
We have not sent down the Qur’ân to you that you may be distressed (that you may suffer hardship).

20/Ta-ha-3: Illa tathkiratan liman yakhsha
But only as a reminder to those who are in awe (of Allah).

20/Ta-ha-4: Tanzeelan mimman khalaqa alarda waalssamawati alAAula
(It is) brought down from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens.

20/Ta-ha-5: Alrrahmanu AAala alAAarshi istawa
The All-Merciful (God) rose over (is established on) the Throne (‘Arsh).

20/Ta-ha-6: Lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wama baynahuma wama tahta alththara
His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two, and what is under the damp soil.

20/Ta-ha-7: Wain tajhar bialqawli fainnahu yaAAlamu alssirra waakhfa
And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden (the most hidden).

20/Ta-ha-8: Allahu la ilaha illa huwa lahu alasmao alhusna
Allah! There is no god but He; His are the Very Best Names.

20/Ta-ha-9: Wahal ataka hadeethu moosa
And has the story (event) of Moses come to you?

20/Ta-ha-10: Ith raa naran faqala liahlihi omkuthoo innee anastu naran laAAallee ateekum minha biqabasin aw ajidu AAala alnnari hudan
When he saw a fire, he said to his family: Stay here, for surely I have seen a fire; perhaps I can bring you therefrom a burning brand or find a guidance at the fire.

20/Ta-ha-11: Falamma ataha noodiya ya moosa
So when he came to it, a voice was uttered; O Moses!

20/Ta-ha-12: Innee ana rabbuka faikhlaAA naAAlayka innaka bialwadi almuqaddasi tuwan
Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes (sandals); surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwâ.

20/Ta-ha-13: Waana ikhtartuka faistamiAA lima yooha
And (know that) I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed.

20/Ta-ha-14: Innanee ana Allahu la ilaha illa ana faoAAbudnee waaqimi alssalata lithikree
Surely I, I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve (become a servant to) Me, and keep up the Prayer for My remembrance (dhikr).

20/Ta-ha-15: Inna alssaAAata atiyatun akadu okhfeeha litujza kullu nafsin bima tasAAa
Surely the Hour is coming-and I am almost hiding in from Myself (Ukhfî also means: I am about to make it manifest)-so that every soul may be rewarded for that which he strives.

20/Ta-ha-16: Fala yasuddannaka AAanha man la yuminu biha waittabaAAa hawahu fatarda
Therefore let not him who does not believe in it and follows his low desires (his own lusts) turn you away from it so that you should perish.

20/Ta-ha-17: Wama tilka biyameenika ya moosa
And what is this in your right hand, O Moses?

20/Ta-ha-18: Qala hiya AAasaya atawakkao AAalayha waahushshu biha AAala ghanamee waliya feeha maaribu okhra
He said: This is my staff: I recline on it and I beat down the leaves with it to make them fall upon my sheep and I have other uses for it.

20/Ta-ha-19: Qala alqiha ya moosa
He (Allah) said: Cast it down, O Moses!

20/Ta-ha-20: Faalqaha faitha hiya hayyatun tasAAa
So he cast it down; and behold! it was a serpent, moving quickly (gliding).

20/Ta-ha-21: Qala khuthha wala takhaf sanuAAeeduha seerataha aloola
He said: Take hold of it and do not fear; We will restore it to its former state.

20/Ta-ha-22: Waodmum yadaka ila janahika takhruj baydaa min ghayri sooin ayatan okhra
And put your hand under your armpit (press your hand to your side), it shall come out white without evil: another sign (miracle).

20/Ta-ha-23: Linuriyaka min ayatina alkubra
That We may show you of Our Greater Signs.

20/Ta-ha-24: Ithhab ila firAAawna innahu tagha
Go to Pharaoh, surely he has exceeded all limits.

20/Ta-ha-25: Qala rabbi ishrah lee sadree
He said: My Lord! Expand my breast for me,

20/Ta-ha-26: Wayassir lee amree
And make my affair (task) easy to me,

20/Ta-ha-27: Waohlul AAuqdatan min lisanee
And loose the knot (remove the impediment, lisp) from my tongue.

20/Ta-ha-28: Yafqahoo qawlee
(That) they may understand my word.

20/Ta-ha-29: WaijAAal lee wazeeran min ahlee
And appoint for me a helper from my family.

20/Ta-ha-30: Haroona akhee
Aaron, my brother.

20/Ta-ha-31: Oshdud bihi azree
Strengthen my back by him (Increase my strength with him).

20/Ta-ha-32: Waashrikhu fee amree
And associate him (with me) in my affair.

20/Ta-ha-33: Kay nusabbihaka katheeran
So that we should glorify You much.

20/Ta-ha-34: Wanathkuraka katheeran
And remember You oft.

20/Ta-ha-35: Innaka kunta bina baseeran
Surely, You are Ever a Well-Seer of us.

20/Ta-ha-36: Qala qad ooteeta sulaka ya moosa
He said: You are indeed granted your request (petition), O Moses!

20/Ta-ha-37: Walaqad mananna AAalayka marratan okhra
And certainly We had bestowed on you a Blessing at another time.

20/Ta-ha-38: Ith awhayna ila ommika ma yooha
When We revealed to your mother what was revealed.

20/Ta-ha-39: Ani iqthifeehi fee alttabooti faiqthifeehi fee alyammi falyulqihi alyammu bialssahili yakhuthhu AAaduwwun lee waAAaduwwun lahu waalqaytu AAalayka mahabbatan minnee walitusnaAAa AAala AAaynee
(Saying): Put him (the child) into the chest (the Tâbût, a box or a case), then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him; and I cast down upon you love from Me; and that you might be brought up before My Eye (under My Protection).

20/Ta-ha-40: Ith tamshee okhtuka fataqoolu hal adullukum AAala man yakfuluhu farajaAAnaka ila ommika kay taqarra AAaynuha wala tahzana waqatalta nafsan fanajjaynaka mina alghammi wafatannaka futoonan falabithta sineena fee ahli madyana thumma jita AAala qadarin ya moosa
When your sister went (following you) and said (when they take him up into the Palace): Shall I direct you to (shall I help you find) one who will take charge of him (suckle him and take care of him)? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled (refreshed) and she should not grieve; and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief (great distress) and We tried you with various trials. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan (Midian); then you came here as ordained, O Moses!

20/Ta-ha-41: WaistanaAAtuka linafsee
And I have chosen you (as a Prophet) for Myself (and brought you up) [I have assigned you to Myself].

20/Ta-ha-42: Ithhab anta waakhooka biayatee wala taniya fee thikree
Go you and your brother with My Verses (Signs, Miracles) and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance (be in a continuous dhikr).

20/Ta-ha-43: Ithhaba ila firAAawna innahu tagha
Go both to Pharaoh, surely he has become inordinate (He has transgressed all bounds).

20/Ta-ha-44: Faqoola lahu qawlan layyinan laAAallahu yatathakkaru aw yakhsha
Then speak to him with gentle (mild) words; haply he may deliberate (understand) or be in awe (of Allah).

20/Ta-ha-45: Qala rabbana innana nakhafu an yafruta AAalayna aw an yatgha
Both said: Our Lord! Surely we fear that he may exceed the limit against us or that he may become inordinate.

20/Ta-ha-46: Qala la takhafa innanee maAAakuma asmaAAu waara
He (Allah) said: Do not fear, surely I am with you both; I do hear and see.

20/Ta-ha-47: Fatiyahu faqoola inna rasoola rabbika faarsil maAAana banee israeela wala tuAAaththibhum qad jinaka biayatin min rabbika waalssalamu AAala mani ittabaAAa alhuda
So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two Messengers of your Lord; therefore send the Children of Israel with us and do not torment (oppress) them! Indeed we have brought to you a Sign (Miracle) from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows (depends on) Guidance.

20/Ta-ha-48: Inna qad oohiya ilayna anna alAAathaba AAala man kaththaba watawalla
Surely it has been revealed to us that the torment (punishment) will surely come upon him who denies (belies) and turns back.

20/Ta-ha-49: Qala faman rabbukuma ya moosa
He (Pharaoh) said: And who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?

20/Ta-ha-50: Qala rabbuna allathee aAAta kulla shayin khalqahu thumma hada
He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal).

20/Ta-ha-51: Qala fama balu alqurooni aloola
He (Pharaoh) said: Then, what is the state of the former generations?

20/Ta-ha-52: Qala AAilmuha AAinda rabbee fee kitabin la yadillu rabbee wala yansa
He said: The knowledge of that is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord never errs, nor forgets.

20/Ta-ha-53: Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda mahdan wasalaka lakum feeha subulan waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhrajna bihi azwajan min nabatin shatta
Who made the earth for you (like) a bed (an expanse) and made for you in it ways and sent down water (rain) from the sky; and We have brought forth with it pairs of various plants.

20/Ta-ha-54: Kuloo wairAAaw anAAamakum inna fee thalika laayatin liolee alnnuha
Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are Signs in this for those endowed with understanding.

20/Ta-ha-55: Minha khalaqnakum wafeeha nuAAeedukum waminha nukhrijukum taratan okhra
From it (the earth) We created you and into it We shall send you back and from it will We bring you out once again.

20/Ta-ha-56: Walaqad araynahu ayatina kullaha fakaththaba waaba
And truly We showed him all Our Signs, (Evidences, Miracles…) but he denied (belied) and insisted (on his lie).

20/Ta-ha-57: Qala ajitana litukhrijana min ardina bisihrika ya moosa
He (Pharaoh) said: Have you come to us that you should drive us out of our land by your magic, O Moses?

20/Ta-ha-58: Falanatiyannaka bisihrin mithlihi faijAAal baynana wabaynaka mawAAidan la nukhlifuhu nahnu wala anta makanan suwan
So we too will produce before you magic like it, therefore make between us and you an appointment, which we should not break (neither) we nor you (in) a central place convenient (for both of us).

20/Ta-ha-59: Qala mawAAidukum yawmu alzzeenati waan yuhshara alnnasu duhan
He (Moses) said: Your appointed meeting is the day of the Festival (Embellishment) and let the people be gathered together in the early forenoon.

20/Ta-ha-60: Fatawalla firAAawnu fajamaAAa kaydahu thumma ata
So Pharaoh turned his back and devised his plot, then came.

20/Ta-ha-61: Qala lahum moosa waylakum la taftaroo AAala Allahi kathiban fayushitakum biAAathabin waqad khaba mani iftara
Moses said to them: Woe to you! Do not forge a lie against Allah, lest He should destroy you completely by a torment and he who forges (a lie) indeed fails miserably (becomes null).

20/Ta-ha-62: FatanazaAAoo amrahum baynahum waasarroo alnnajwa
So they (the magicians) disputed (debated) with one another about their affair and kept their discourse secret.

20/Ta-ha-63: Qaloo in hathani lasahirani yureedani an yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihima wayathhaba bitareeqatikumu almuthla
They said: These are most surely two magicians who wish to drive you out of your land by their magic and to destroy (take away) your way (religion) that is superior.

20/Ta-ha-64: FaajmiAAoo kaydakum thumma itoo saffan waqad aflaha alyawma mani istaAAla
He (Pharaoh) said: So devise your plot (settle your plan), then come standing in ranks. And whoever gains the upper hand today will surely prosper (triumph).

20/Ta-ha-65: Qaloo ya moosa imma an tulqiya waimma an nakoona awwala man alqa
They said: O Moses! Will you cast, or shall we be the first who cast down?

20/Ta-ha-66: Qala bal alqoo faitha hibaluhum waAAisiyyuhum yukhayyalu ilayhi min sihrihim annaha tasAAa
He said: Nay! Cast down, then behold! their cords and their rods (staffs)-it was imaged to him on account of their magic as if they were running.

20/Ta-ha-67: Faawjasa fee nafsihi kheefatan moosa
So Moses conceived in him a fear.

20/Ta-ha-68: Qulna la takhaf innaka anta alaAAla
We said: Do not fear, surely you shall be the uppermost.

20/Ta-ha-69: Waalqi ma fee yameenika talqaf ma sanaAAoo innama sanaAAoo kaydu sahirin wala yuflihu alssahiru haythu ata
And cast down what is in your right hand; it shall swallow up what they have made; what they have made is only a magician’s trick and the magician shall not be successful (shall not attain to the Salvation) wheresoever he may come from.

20/Ta-ha-70: Faolqiya alssaharatu sujjadan qaloo amanna birabbi haroona wamoosa
And the magicians fell down prostrate; they said: We believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses.

20/Ta-ha-71: Qala amantum lahu qabla an athana lakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihra falaoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin walaosallibannakum fee juthooAAi alnnakhli walataAAlamunna ayyuna ashaddu AAathaban waabqa
He (Pharaoh) said: Do you believe in him before I give you permission? Surely he is the chief of you who taught you magic (witchcraft), therefore I will certainly cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will certainly crucify you on the trunks of palm-trees, and certainly you will come to know which of us is the more severe and the more lasting in torment.

20/Ta-ha-72: Qaloo lan nuthiraka AAala ma jaana mina albayyinati waallathee fatarana faiqdi ma anta qadin innama taqdee hathihi alhayata alddunya
They said: We do not prefer you to what has come to us of the clear arguments and to Him Who made us, therefore decide what you are going to decide; you can only decide about this world’s life.

20/Ta-ha-73: Inna amanna birabbina liyaghfira lana khatayana wama akrahtana AAalayhi mina alssihri waAllahu khayrun waabqa
Surely we believe in our Lord that He may forgive us our sins (pardon us and change our evil deeds into rewards) and the magic to which you compelled us; and Allah is better and more lasting.

20/Ta-ha-74: Innahu man yati rabbahu mujriman fainna lahu jahannama la yamootu feeha wala yahya
Whoever comes to his Lord (being) as criminal (guilty), for him is surely Hell; he shall not die therein, nor shall he live.

20/Ta-ha-75: Waman yatihi muminan qad AAamila alssalihati faolaika lahumu alddarajatu alAAula
And whoever comes to Him as a believer (and) he has done improving deeds (the soul’s purification), for such are the high degrees.

20/Ta-ha-76: Jannatu AAadnin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha wathalika jazao man tazakka
The Gardens of Eden (Perpetuity, the Very Source of Bliss), beneath which the rivers flow, where they will abide forever; and this is the Reward of him who has purified himself [of him who has done the purification (Tezkiye) and the refinement (Tasfiye) of the soul (‘s heart)].

20/Ta-ha-77: Walaqad awhayna ila moosa an asri biAAibadee faidrib lahum tareeqan fee albahri yabasan la takhafu darakan wala takhsha
And certainly We revealed to Moses (saying): Travel by night with My servants, then strike for them a road in the sea, not fearing to be overtaken (by Pharaoh), nor being afraid (of being drowned in the sea).

20/Ta-ha-78: FaatbaAAahum firAAawnu bijunoodihi faghashiyahum mina alyammi ma ghashiyahum
And Pharaoh pursued them with his armies (forces), so the sea-water completely overwhelmed them and covered them up.

20/Ta-ha-79: Waadalla firAAawnu qawmahu wama hada
And Pharaoh left his people in Misguidance and he did not make (them) reach Guidance.

20/Ta-ha-80: Ya banee israeela qad anjaynakum min AAaduwwikum wawaAAadnakum janiba alttoori alaymana wanazzalna AAalaykumu almanna waalssalwa
O Children of Israel! Indeed We delivered you from your enemy, and We made a Promise to you (in order to meet you) on the right (blessed) side of the Mount (Sinai), and We sent to you the manna and the quails.

20/Ta-ha-81: Kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum wala tatghaw feehi fayahilla AAalaykum ghadabee waman yahlil AAalayhi ghadabee faqad hawa
Eat of the good (and clean) things We have given you as sustenance, and be not inordinate with respect to them, lest My Wrath should justly descend on you. And he on whom My Wrath descends, he has indeed perished. [He has fallen into Misguidance by following the low desires of his soul (‘s heart)].

20/Ta-ha-82: Wainnee laghaffarun liman taba waamana waAAamila salihan thumma ihtada
And most surely I am Most Forgiving to him who repents (before the saint guide, the murshid with 12 bestowals, “ihsân”) and became âmenû (for the second time) [who became believers whose Faith has been increased as the Faith has been written in his soul (‘s heart)] and do improving deed(s) (dhikr, remembrance, the repetition of the Name of Allah such as: Al-lah, Al-lah) [those who do deeds that improve the souls (‘s hearts)] then, they are made to attain to Guidance (by Me) [their spirits are made to reach Allah before dying].

20/Ta-ha-83: Wama aAAjalaka AAan qawmika ya moosa
And what caused you to hasten from your people, O Moses?

20/Ta-ha-84: Qala hum olai AAala atharee waAAajiltu ilayka rabbi litarda
He said: They are here on my track and I hastened on to You, my Lord, that You might be pleased (with me).

20/Ta-ha-85: Qala fainna qad fatanna qawmaka min baAAdika waadallahumu alssamiriyyu
He (Allah) said: So surely We have tried your people after you, and the Sâmirî has caused them to fall into Misguidance.

20/Ta-ha-86: FarajaAAa moosa ila qawmihi ghadbana asifan qala ya qawmi alam yaAAidkum rabbukum waAAdan hasanan afatala AAalaykumu alAAahdu am aradtum an yahilla AAalaykum ghadabun min rabbikum faakhlaftum mawAAidee
So Moses returned to his people wrathful, sorrowing. He said: O my people! Did not your Lord promise you a goodly promise? Did then the promise seem to you long in coming? Or did you desire that Wrath should descend from your Lord on you, that you broke your promise to me?

20/Ta-ha-87: Qaloo ma akhlafna mawAAidaka bimalkina walakinna hummilna awzaran min zeenati alqawmi faqathafnaha fakathalika alqa alssamiriyyu
They said: We did not break (our) promise to you of our own will, but we were made to bear the burdens of the ornaments of (Pharaoh’s) people, then we cast them (into the fire) and thus did the Sâmirî (also) do.

20/Ta-ha-88: Faakhraja lahum AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun faqaloo hatha ilahukum wailahu moosa fanasiya
So he brought forth for them a calf, a (mere) body, which had a mooing sound, so they said (the Sâmirî and his supporters): This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot (it).

20/Ta-ha-89: Afala yarawna alla yarjiAAu ilayhim qawlan wala yamliku lahum darran wala nafAAan
What! could they not see that it did not return to them a word (for answer), and (that) it had no power either to harm them or to benefit them?

20/Ta-ha-90: Walaqad qala lahum haroonu min qablu ya qawmi innama futintum bihi wainna rabbakumu alrrahmanu faittabiAAoonee waateeAAoo amree
And certainly Aaron had said to them before: O my people! You are only tried by it, and surely your Lord is the All-Merciful (God), therefore follow me and obey my order.

20/Ta-ha-91: Qaloo lan nabraha AAalayhi AAakifeena hatta yarjiAAa ilayna moosa
They said: We will by no means cease to keep to its worship until Moses returns to us.

20/Ta-ha-92: Qala ya haroonu ma manaAAaka ith raaytahum dalloo
He (Moses) said: O Aaron! What prevented you (from warning them) when you saw them falling into Misguidance?

20/Ta-ha-93: Alla tattabiAAani afaAAasayta amree
From following me? Did you then disobey (rebel against) my order?

20/Ta-ha-94: Qala ya bna omma la takhuth bilihyatee wala birasee innee khasheetu an taqoola farraqta bayna banee israeela walam tarqub qawlee
He (Aaron) said: O son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard, nor by my head; surely I was afraid that you should say: You have caused a division (disagreement, enmity) among the Children of Israel and you have not observed (carried out) my word.

20/Ta-ha-95: Qala fama khatbuka ya samiriyyu
He (Moses) said: And you, O Sâmirî, what was your address (to them) (what did you say to them)?

20/Ta-ha-96: Qala basurtu bima lam yabsuroo bihi faqabadtu qabdatan min athari alrrasooli fanabathtuha wakathalika sawwalat lee nafsee
He said: I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful (of the dust) from the footsteps of the Messenger (Gabriel) and flung it (into melted jewelry) thus did my soul prompt me (thus did my soul make it fair-seeming to me).

20/Ta-ha-97: Qala faithhab fainna laka fee alhayati an taqoola la misasa wainna laka mawAAidan lan tukhlafahu waonthur ila ilahika allathee thalta AAalayhi AAakifan lanuharriqannahu thumma lanansifannahu fee alyammi nasfan
He (Moses) said: Go away at once! Surely for you it will be in this life to say: Do not touch (me), and surely there is a threat for you, which shall not be made to fail to you, and look at your (so-called) god to whose worship you kept (so long): we will certainly burn it, then we will certainly scatter it a (wide) scattering in the sea.

20/Ta-ha-98: Innama ilahukumu Allahu allathee la ilaha illa huwa wasiAAa kulla shayin AAilman
Your God is only Allah, there is no god but He; He comprehends all things in (His) Knowledge.

20/Ta-ha-99: Kathalika naqussu AAalayka min anbai ma qad sabaqa waqad ataynaka min ladunna thikran
Thus do We relate to you (some) of the news of what has gone before; and indeed We have given to you a Reminder (the Qur’ân) from Our own Presence (from Us)

20/Ta-ha-100: Man aAArada AAanhu fainnahu yahmilu yawma alqiyamati wizran
Whoever turns aside from it, he shall surely bear a burden (the degrees that he has lost) on the Day of Resurrection.

20/Ta-ha-101: Khalideena feehi wasaa lahum yawma alqiyamati himlan
Abiding (forever) in this (in the torment that heavy burden will bring), and evil indeed will it be that (heavy) burden for them on the Day of Resurrection;

20/Ta-ha-102: Yawma yunfakhu fee alssoori wanahshuru almujrimeena yawmaithin zurqan
On the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and We will gather the criminals (guilty), turned black-and-blue, on that Day;

20/Ta-ha-103: Yatakhafatoona baynahum in labithtum illa AAashran
They will speak in a very low voice to each other (saying). You stayed (in the world) not longer than ten (days).

20/Ta-ha-104: Nahnu aAAlamu bima yaqooloona ith yaqoolu amthaluhum tareeqatan in labithtum illa yawman
We know best what they say, when the one who is similar to them in respect of the way will say: You stayed no longer than a day.

20/Ta-ha-105: Wayasaloonaka AAani aljibali faqul yansifuha rabbee nasfan
And they ask you about the mountains. Say: My Lord will crush them to fine dust (My Lord will reduce them to powder and hurtle them).

20/Ta-ha-106: Fayatharuha qaAAan safsafan
He will leave it (the place of the mountains) as a desolate waste, smooth and level.

20/Ta-ha-107: La tara feeha AAiwajan wala amtan
You shall not see therein (in the place of the mountains) any crookedness or unevenness (lowness and highness).

20/Ta-ha-108: Yawmaithin yattabiAAoona alddaAAiya la AAiwaja lahu wakhashaAAati alaswatu lilrrahmani fala tasmaAAu illa hamsan
On that Day (of Permission) they shall follow (depend on) the Caller (Inviter) in whom there is no crookedness; and the voices will be hushed before the All-Merciful (God) so that you shall hear no sound but a faint murmur (a light whisper).

20/Ta-ha-109: Yawmaithin la tanfaAAu alshshafaAAatu illa man athina lahu alrrahmanu waradiya lahu qawlan
On that Day (of Permission) no intercession shall avail except of him whom the All-Merciful (God) allows and whose word He is Pleased with (the owner of the Consent of disposal).

20/Ta-ha-110: YaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum wala yuheetoona bihi AAilman
He knows what is before them (their past) and what is behind them (their future), while they do not comprehend it with (their) knowledge.

20/Ta-ha-111: WaAAanati alwujoohu lilhayyi alqayyoomi waqad khaba man hamala thulman
And the faces (every one) shall humiliate themselves before the Ever Living, the Self-Subsistent (God). And he who bears (a burden of) wrondoing is indeed a failure.

20/Ta-ha-112: Waman yaAAmal mina alssalihati wahuwa muminun fala yakhafu thulman wala hadman
And whoever does improving deeds [that improve the soul (‘s heart) being a believer (into the soul’s heart of whom the Faith has been written), let him have no fear of injustice (wrongdoing) nor of the withholding of his due (of the curtailment of the degrees that he has earned).

20/Ta-ha-113: Wakathalika anzalnahu quranan AAarabiyyan wasarrafna feehi mina alwaAAeedi laAAallahum yattaqoona aw yuhdithu lahum thikran
And thus have We sent it down as an Arabic Qur’ân and have explained therein in detail of threats so that they may become the owners of piety or it may be a reminder for them.

20/Ta-ha-114: FataAAala Allahu almaliku alhaqqu wala taAAjal bialqurani min qabli an yuqda ilayka wahyuhu waqul rabbi zidnee AAilman
Supremely Exalted is therefore Allah, the King, the Truth; and do not make haste with the Qur’ân before its revelation is made complete to you and say: My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.

20/Ta-ha-115: Walaqad AAahidna ila adama min qablu fanasiya walam najid lahu AAazman
And indeed We made a Pact (Ahid) with Adam before, but he forgot; and We did not find in him any firm resolve.

20/Ta-ha-116: Waith qulna lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa aba
And (remember) when We said to the angels: Prostrate yourselves to Adam! They prostrated themselves (all) except Iblîs (Satan). He refused (resisted).

20/Ta-ha-117: Faqulna ya adamu inna hatha AAaduwwun laka walizawjika fala yukhrijannakuma mina aljannati fatashqa
So We said: O Adam! This is an enemy to you and to your wife; therefore let him not drive you both from the Garden (Paradise) so that you should be distressed (unhappy shakî=cut off from the Truth).

20/Ta-ha-118: Inna laka alla tajooAAa feeha wala taAAra
) Surely it is (ordained) for you that you shall not be hungry in it nor bare of clothing.

20/Ta-ha-119: Waannaka la tathmao feeha wala tadha
And that you shall not be thirsty in it nor shall you feel the heat of the sun.

20/Ta-ha-120: Fawaswasa ilayhi alshshaytanu qala ya adamu hal adulluka AAala shajarati alkhuldi wamulkin la yabla
But Satan whispered (evil) to him; he said: O Adam! Shall I lead you to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that will never waste away (come to an end).

20/Ta-ha-121: Faakala minha fabadat lahuma sawatuhuma watafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhima min waraqi aljannati waAAasa adamu rabbahu faghawa
Then they both ate of it, and so their private parts became manifest to them, and they both began to cover themselves with leaves of the Garden (Paradise) and Adam rebelled against (disobeyed) his Lord, and went astray.

20/Ta-ha-122: Thumma ijtabahu rabbuhu fataba AAalayhi wahada
Then his Lord chose him, so He turned to him (He accepted his repentance) and caused him to reach Guidance.

20/Ta-ha-123: Qala ihbita minha jameeAAan baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun faimma yatiyannakum minnee hudan famani ittabaAAa hudaya fala yadillu wala yashqa
He (Allah) said: Go down, both of you, therefrom, together, being (Satan and you) an enemy one to another. So there will surely come to you Guidance from Me, then whoever follows My Guidance, he shall not remain in Misguidance nor shall be distressed (unhappy, shakî=cut off from the Truth).

20/Ta-ha-124: Waman aAArada AAan thikree fainna lahu maAAeeshatan dankan wanahshuruhu yawma alqiyamati aAAman
And whoever turns away from My Reminder (dhikr, the Qur’ân) assuredly for him is a life of narrowness (a straitened life) and We will raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection.

20/Ta-ha-125: Qala rabbi lima hashartanee aAAma waqad kuntu baseeran
He said (on the Day of Resurrection): My Lord! Why have You raised me up blind and I was a seeing one indeed [while I had sight] (before, in my life-time).

20/Ta-ha-126: Qala kathalika atatka ayatuna fanaseetaha wakathalika alyawma tunsa
He (Allah) will say: Like this: Our Signs came to you, but you forgot (disregarded) them; even thus shall you this Day be forgotten (disregarded).

20/Ta-ha-127: Wakathalika najzee man asrafa walam yumin biayati rabbihi walaAAathabu alakhirati ashaddu waabqa
And thus do We recompense (punish) him who is extravagant and does not believe in the Verses (Signs…) of his Lord; and certainly the torment (punishment) of the Hereafter is severer and more lasting.

20/Ta-ha-128: Afalam yahdi lahum kam ahlakna qablahum mina alqurooni yamshoona fee masakinihim inna fee thalika laayatin liolee alnnuha
Does it not then guide them (cause them to attain Guidance) how many of the generations We destroyed before them, in whose dwelling-places they go about? Most surely there are Signs in this for those endowed with understanding.

20/Ta-ha-129: Walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika lakana lizaman waajalun musamman
And if there had not been Word (that had) already gone forth from your Lord and an appointed term, it (a punishment) would surely have been necessary to them [have been made to adhere (to them)].

20/Ta-ha-130: Faisbir AAala ma yaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAi alshshamsi waqabla ghuroobiha wamin anai allayli fasabbih waatrafa alnnahari laAAallaka tarda
Bear them patiently what they say, and glorify your Lord by the praising of Him before the rising of the sun and before its setting, and during hours of the night do also glorify (Him) and at the two ends of the day, that you may be well pleased (that you may reach the Divine Consent).

20/Ta-ha-131: Wala tamuddanna AAaynayka ila ma mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum zahrata alhayati alddunya linaftinahum feehi warizqu rabbika khayrun waabqa
And do not stretch your eyes after that with which We have provided different groups of them, (of) the splendor of this world’s life, that We may thereby try them; and the sustenance (given) by your Lord is better and more lasting.

20/Ta-ha-132: Wamur ahlaka bialssalati waistabir AAalayha la nasaluka rizqan nahnu narzuquka waalAAaqibatu lilttaqwa
And enjoin the Prayer (As-Salât) on your family (and your followers) and be patient on it (the prayer); We do not ask you for subsistence; We do give you subsistence, and the (best) end is for the pious (the owners of piety, takwâ).

20/Ta-ha-133: Waqaloo lawla yateena biayatin min rabbihi awalam tatihim bayyinatu ma fee alssuhufi aloola
And they say: Why does he not bring to us a Sign (a miracle) from his Lord? Has not there come to them a clear evidence of what is in the previous books (pages)?

20/Ta-ha-134: Walaw anna ahlaknahum biAAathabin min qablihi laqaloo rabbana lawla arsalta ilayna rasoolan fanattabiAAa ayatika min qabli an nathilla wanakhza
And if We had destroyed them with a torment (punishment) before this, they would certainly have said: Our Lord! If only You had sent to us a Messenger, we should certainly have followed Your Verses (Signs, Evidences, Proofs…), before we were humiliated and disgraced.

20/Ta-ha-135: Qul kullun mutarabbisun fatarabbasoo fasataAAlamoona man ashabu alssirati alssawiyyi wamani ihtada
Say: Every one (of us) is awaiting, therefore do await. So you will come to know who is the follower of the even path [who is on the Even Path, The Path directed (towards Allah)] and who has attained Guidance.
