50/Qaf-1: Qaf waalqurani almajeedi
Qâf [These disjointed letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’ân, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Glorious Qur’ân.
50/Qaf-2: Bal AAajiboo an jaahum munthirun minhum faqala alkafiroona hatha shayon AAajeebun
Nay! they wonder that a warner of their own has come to them; so the disbelievers say: This is a strange thing:
50/Qaf-3: Aitha mitna wakunna turaban thalika rajAAun baAAeedun
What! When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be raised again?) That is a far return (that is impossible to be realized).
50/Qaf-4: Qad AAalimna ma tanqusu alardu minhum waAAindana kitabun hafeethun
We know indeed what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a Book that preserves (all the events taking place during all the times and placed in the ‘Illiyyîn and Siccîn).
50/Qaf-5: Bal kaththaboo bialhaqqi lamma jaahum fahum fee amrin mareejin
Nay, but they have denied (belied) the truth when it has come to them, so they are (now) in a confused state (problem).
50/Qaf-6: Afalam yanthuroo ila alssamai fawqahum kayfa banaynaha wazayyannaha wama laha min furoojin
Have they not looked up to the heaven above them, how We have built it up and adorned it and there are no rifts in it?
50/Qaf-7: Waalarda madadnaha waalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin baheejin
And (as for) the earth, We have spread it out, and cast in it firm mountains and We have made to grow in it of all lovely pairs.
50/Qaf-8: Tabsiratan wathikra likulli AAabdin muneebin
An insight and a reminder for every servant who turns (to Allah). [so that this may be an insight for all the servants who turn (to Allah), that is, who wish to reach Allah while they are alive (=so that the eyes of their (souls’) hearts be opened) and that they may remember (much) (=that is, they may attain to the continuous remembrance (dhikr)].
50/Qaf-9: Wanazzalna mina alssamai maan mubarakan faanbatna bihi jannatin wahabba alhaseedi
And We send down from the sky blessed water (rain), then We cause to grow with it gardens and the grains that are reaped.
50/Qaf-10: Waalnnakhla basiqatin laha talAAun nadeedun
And the lofty date-palms with ranged clusters.
50/Qaf-11: Rizqan lilAAibadi waahyayna bihi baldatan maytan kathalika alkhurooju
A sustenance for the servants; and We give life with it to a dead land; Thus is the coming out (of the earth after death, the resurrection).
50/Qaf-12: Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waashabu alrrassi wathamoodu
Before them, the people of Noah, and the dwellers of Ar-Rass and Thamûd denied (their Messengers).
50/Qaf-13: WaAAadun wafirAAawnu waikhwanu lootin
And ‘Âd and Pharaoh and the brethren of Lot.
50/Qaf-14: Waashabu alaykati waqawmu tubbaAAin kullun kaththaba alrrusula fahaqqa waAAeedi
And the dwellers of the Grove (Eykeh) and the people of Tubba’: Everyone of them denied the Messengers, so My threat was justified (the Promise of Allah was fulfilled).
50/Qaf-15: AfaAAayeena bialkhalqi alawwali bal hum fee labsin min khalqin jadeedin
Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation.
50/Qaf-16: Walaqad khalaqna alinsana wanaAAlamu ma tuwaswisu bihi nafsuhu wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi min habli alwareedi
And certainly We created man and We know what his soul whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge).
50/Qaf-17: Ith yatalaqqa almutalaqqiyani AAani alyameeni waAAani alshshimali qaAAeedun
Then the two receivers (recording angels) sitting on the right and on the left receive (record the deeds of man).
50/Qaf-18: Ma yalfithu min qawlin illa ladayhi raqeebun AAateedun
He does not utter a word but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it).
50/Qaf-19: Wajaat sakratu almawti bialhaqqi thalika ma kunta minhu taheedu
And the intoxication (stupor) of the death comes in truth; that is what you were trying to escape
50/Qaf-20: Wanufikha fee alssoori thalika yawmu alwaAAeedi
And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threatening.
50/Qaf-21: Wajaat kullu nafsin maAAaha saiqun washaheedun
And every soul shall come, with it a driver (the angel that makes the life film of man) and a witness.
50/Qaf-22: Laqad kunta fee ghaflatin min hatha fakashafna AAanka ghitaaka fabasaruka alyawma hadeedun
[He (Allah) says]: Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight this Day is sharp.
50/Qaf-23: Waqala qareenuhu hatha ma ladayya AAateedun
And his companion (angel) will say: This (life film of yours) is what is ready with me.
50/Qaf-24: Alqiya fee jahannama kulla kaffarin AAaneedin
Allah will say to the angels): Both of you throw into Hell every stubborn disbeliever!
50/Qaf-25: MannaAAin lilkhayri muAAtadin mureebin
Hinderer of good, exceeder of limits, doubter.
50/Qaf-26: Allathee jaAAala maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara faalqiyahu fee alAAathabi alshshadeedi
Who sets up another god with Allah, so both of you cast him into the severe torment!
50/Qaf-27: Qala qareenuhu rabbana ma atghaytuhu walakin kana fee dalalin baAAeedin
His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a remote Misguidance.
50/Qaf-28: Qala la takhtasimoo ladayya waqad qaddamtu ilaykum bialwaAAeedi
He (Allah) will say: Do not quarrel in My Presence, and indeed, I had already in advance sent you the Thread:
50/Qaf-29: Ma yubaddalu alqawlu ladayya wama ana bithallamin lilAAabeedi
My Word shall not be changed in My Presence and I am not Unjust to My servants.
50/Qaf-30: Yawma naqoolu lijahannama hali imtalati wataqoolu hal min mazeedin
On that Day when We will say to Hell: Are you filled up? And it will say: Are there any more (to come)?
50/Qaf-31: Waozlifati aljannatu lilmuttaqeena ghayra baAAeedin
And The Garden is brought near to the pious (the owners of piety), (being) no longer distant.
50/Qaf-32: Hatha ma tooAAadoona likulli awwabin hafeethin
This is what you were promised, for every “avvâb” (the one whose spirit has taken shelter in Allah by reaching Him) “hafîz” (the one who has been guarded by the Spirit of the Imam of the Age who has come over his head).
50/Qaf-33: Man khashiya alrrahmana bialghaybi wajaa biqalbin muneebin
(For) him who is in awe of the All-Merciful in the Unseen (without seeing Him) and comes (in the Presence of Allah) with a heart turned (to Allah, wishing to reach Allah).
50/Qaf-34: Odkhulooha bisalamin thalika yawmu alkhuloodi
Enter it in peace (and security), this is the Day of Eternity.
50/Qaf-35: Lahum ma yashaoona feeha waladayna mazeedun
There is for them all that they wish in it, and with Us is more yet.
50/Qaf-36: Wakam ahlakna qablahum min qarnin hum ashaddu minhum batshan fanaqqaboo fee albiladi hal min maheesin
And how many a generation We have destroyed before them who were mightier in prowess than they. And (when Our Torment came), they ran for a refuge in the lands. Is there any place of refuge?
50/Qaf-37: Inna fee thalika lathikra liman kana lahu qalbun aw alqa alssamAAa wahuwa shaheedun
Most surely there is a reminder in this for him who has a heart or he gives ear and is a witness [to Allah with the eye of his (soul’s) heart].
50/Qaf-38: Walaqad khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma fee sittati ayyamin wama massana min lughoobin
And certainly We created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in Six Days (Periods, Stages) and nothing of fatigue touched Us.
50/Qaf-39: Faisbir AAala ma yaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAi alshshamsi waqabla alghuroobi
Therefore be patient of what they say, and glorify your Lord with praise before the rising of the sun and before the setting (of the sun).
50/Qaf-40: Wamina allayli fasabbihhu waadbara alssujoodi
And (during a part) of the night (also) glorify Him and after the (prescribed) prostrations.
50/Qaf-41: WaistamiAA yawma yunadi almunadi min makanin qareebin
And gives ear on the Day when the crier shall cry from a near place.
50/Qaf-42: Yawma yasmaAAoona alssayhata bialhaqqi thalika yawmu alkhurooji
The Day when they shall hear As-Saihah (the Awful Cry), that is the Day of coming forth (from the earth, the graves).
50/Qaf-43: Inna nahnu nuhyee wanumeetu wailayna almaseeru
Surely, We it is Who give life and cause death; and to Us is the eventual coming.
50/Qaf-44: Yawma tashaqqaqu alardu AAanhum siraAAan thalika hashrun AAalayna yaseerun
On that Day when the earth will be rent asunder from them, (they will ascend by coming forth from the earth); that is a gathering together easy to Us. (to gather together all the men on the Place of Gathering by bringing them out of the earth is easy to Us).
50/Qaf-45: Nahnu aAAlamu bima yaqooloona wama anta AAalayhim bijabbarin fathakkir bialqurani man yakhafu waAAeedi
We know best what they say, and you are not the one to compel them; therefore remind him by means of the Qur’ân who fears My Threat.
