47/Muhammad-1: Allatheena kafaroo wasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi adalla aAAmalahum
(As for) those who disbelieve, and hinder (men) from the Way of Allah, He shall render their deeds vain (ineffective).
47/Muhammad-2: Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati waamanoo bima nuzzila AAala muhammadin wahuwa alhaqqu min rabbihim kaffara AAanhum sayyiatihim waaslaha balahum
And (as for) those who believe (who wish to reach Allah while they are alive) and do improving deeds (the soul’s purification) and believe in what is sent down to Muhammad (Pbb uh)-and it is the very truth from their Lord-He will remove their evil deeds from them and improve their state (condition).
47/Muhammad-3: Thalika bianna allatheena kafaroo ittabaAAoo albatila waanna allatheena amanoo ittabaAAoo alhaqqa min rabbihim kathalika yadribu Allahu lilnnasi amthalahum
That is because those who disbelieve follow the Falsehood (Bâtıl), and those who believe (who are âmenû…) depend on the truth from their Lord; thus does Allah set forth for mankind their parables (similitudes, examples).
47/Muhammad-4: Faitha laqeetumu allatheena kafaroo fadarba alrriqabi hatta itha athkhantumoohum fashuddoo alwathaqa faimma mannan baAAdu waimma fidaan hatta tadaAAa alharbu awzaraha thalika walaw yashao Allahu laintasara minhum walakin liyabluwa baAAdakum bibaAAdin waallatheena qutiloo fee sabeeli Allahi falan yudilla aAAmalahum
So, when you meet (in the battle-field) those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until, when you have crushed them completely, then bind (the captives) tight, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until war lays down its burdens. That (shall be so); and if Allah had willed, He would certainly have taken vengeance on them but (He lets you) fight) in order to test (try) some of you with others and (as for) those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will not render their deeds vain.
47/Muhammad-5: Sayahdeehim wayuslihu balahum
He will guide them (He will make them reach Himself) and improve their state.
47/Muhammad-6: Wayudkhiluhumu aljannata AAarrafaha lahum
And cause them to enter the Garden which He has made known to them.
47/Muhammad-7: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in tansuroo Allaha yansurkum wayuthabbit aqdamakum
O you who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah before dying)! If you help (the Cause of) Allah, He will help you and make firm your feet.
47/Muhammad-8: Waallatheena kafaroo fataAAsan lahum waadalla aAAmalahum
And (as for) those who disbelieve, for them is destruction, and He has made their deeds vain (ineffective).
47/Muhammad-9: Thalika biannahum karihoo ma anzala Allahu faahbata aAAmalahum
This is because they have hated what Allah has sent down; so He has made their deeds null (fruitless).
47/Muhammad-10: Afalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim dammara Allahu AAalayhim walilkafireena amthaluha
Have they not then journeyed in the earth and seen how was the end of those before them: Allah brought down destruction upon them, and the disbelievers shall have the like of it.
47/Muhammad-11: Thalika bianna Allaha mawla allatheena amanoo waanna alkafireena la mawla lahum
This is because Allah is the Protecting Friend (Maulâ) of those who believe (who are âmenû) and because the disbelievers have no Protecting Friend for them.
47/Muhammad-12: Inna Allaha yudkhilu allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu waallatheena kafaroo yatamattaAAoona wayakuloona kama takulu alanAAamu waalnnaru mathwan lahum
Surely Allah will make those who believe (who wish to reach Allah while they are alive) and do improving deeds (the soul’s purification) enter Gardens under which the rives flow; and those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as the cattle eat, and the Fire is the Abode.
47/Muhammad-13: Wakaayyin min qaryatin hiya ashaddu quwwatan min qaryatika allatee akhrajatka ahlaknahum fala nasira lahum
And how many a town which was far more powerful than the town of yours which has driven you out: We destroyed them, so there was no helper for them.
47/Muhammad-14: Afaman kana AAala bayyinatin min rabbihi kaman zuyyina lahu sooo AAamalihi waittabaAAoo ahwaahum
What! Is he who is upon a clear argument from his Lord like him to whom the evil of his deed is made fairseeming? And they follow their low desires.
47/Muhammad-15: Mathalu aljannati allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona feeha anharun min main ghayri asinin waanharun min labanin lam yataghayyar taAAmuhu waanharun min khamrin laththatin lilshsharibeena waanharun min AAasalin musaffan walahum feeha min kulli alththamarati wamaghfiratun min rabbihim kaman huwa khalidun fee alnnari wasuqoo maan hameeman faqattaAAa amAAaahum
A parable of the Garden which is promised to the owners of piety (Muttaqûn=the pious ones): In it are rivers of water that does not alter, and rivers of milk the taste whereof does not change, and rivers of drink delicious to those who drink, and rivers of honey clarified; and for them therein are all fruits and Forgiveness from their Lord. (Are these) like those who abide in the Fire and who are made to drink boiling water, so it rends their bowels asunder?
47/Muhammad-16: Waminhum man yastamiAAu ilayka hatta itha kharajoo min AAindika qaloo lillatheena ootoo alAAilma matha qala anifan olaika allatheena tabaAAa Allahu AAala quloobihim waittabaAAoo ahwaahum
And there are those of them who listen to you, until, when they go out from you, they say to those who have been given the knowledge: What was it that he said just now? These are they upon whose (souls’) hearts Allah has set a seal and they follow their low desires.
47/Muhammad-17: Waallatheena ihtadaw zadahum hudan waatahum taqwahum
And (as for) those who have attained to Guidance, He (Allah) has increased them in Guidance and given them their piety.
47/Muhammad-18: Fahal yanthuroona illa alssaAAata an tatiyahum baghtatan faqad jaa ashratuha faanna lahum itha jaathum thikrahum
Do they then await (anything) other than the Hour that it should come upon them suddenly? Now indeed the tokens (portens, indications, “eshrât”) of it have (already) come, and when it (actually) is on them, how can they benefit then by their reminder?
47/Muhammad-19: FaiAAlam annahu la ilaha illa Allahu waistaghfir lithanbika walilmumineena waalmuminati waAllahu yaAAlamu mutaqallabakum wamathwakum
So know that there is no god but Allah, and ask forgiveness for your fault and for the believing men and the believing women; and Allah knows well your moving about (the place of your returning) and the place of your abiding.
47/Muhammad-20: Wayaqoolu allatheena amanoo lawla nuzzilat sooratun faitha onzilat sooratun muhkamatun wathukira feeha alqitalu raayta allatheena fee quloobihim maradun yanthuroona ilayka nathara almaghshiyyi AAalayhi mina almawti faawla lahum
And those who believe (who are âmenû) say: If only a Sûrah (that orders the fighting) were sent down (for us)! But when a decisive Sûrah (Chapter of the Qur’ân) is sent down, and fighting is mentioned therein, you see those in whose (souls’) hearts is a disease look to you with the look of one fainting because of death. But the most suitable for them would be:
47/Muhammad-21: TaAAatun waqawlun maAAroofun faitha AAazama alamru falaw sadaqoo Allaha lakana khayran lahum
An obedience and a good word. And when the matter (concerning the fighting) is resolved on, then if they had been true to Allah, it would have been better for them.
47/Muhammad-22: Fahal AAasaytum in tawallaytum an tufsidoo fee alardi watuqattiAAoo arhamakum
Would you then, if you were given the authority, do mischief in the land, and cut off the ties of kinship? (Is your turning back to do mischief in the land and your killing each other: would this then be that which should be expected from you?).
47/Muhammad-23: Olaika allatheena laAAanahumu Allahu faasammahum waaAAma absarahum
Those it is whom Allah has cursed, so He has made them deaf and blinded their sight.
47/Muhammad-24: Afala yatadabbaroona alqurana am AAala quloobin aqfaluha
Do they not then reflect on the Qur’ân? Or are there on the (souls’) hearts their locks?
47/Muhammad-25: Inna allatheena irtaddoo AAala adbarihim min baAAdi ma tabayyana lahumu alhuda alshshaytanu sawwala lahum waamla lahum
Surely (as for) those who return on their backs after the Guidance has become manifest to them, Satan has tempted them to do something (evil) and prolonged for them (false) hopes.
47/Muhammad-26: Thalika biannahum qaloo lillatheena karihoo ma nazzala Allahu sanuteeAAukum fee baAAdi alamri waAllahu yaAAlamu israrahum
That is because they (the enemies) say to those who hate what Allah has sent down: We will obey you in some of the affairs; and Allah knows their secrets.
47/Muhammad-27: Fakayfa itha tawaffathumu almalaikatu yadriboona wujoohahum waadbarahum
Then how (will it be with them) when the angels cause them to die smiting their faces and their backs?
47/Muhammad-28: Thalika biannahumu ittabaAAoo ma askhata Allaha wakarihoo ridwanahu faahbata aAAmalahum
That is because they follow what made Allah wrathful and are averse to His Pleasure, therefore He has made null their deeds.
47/Muhammad-29: Am hasiba allatheena fee quloobihim maradun an lan yukhrija Allahu adghanahum
Or do those in whose (souls’) hearts is a disease reckon (think) that will not bring forth their (hidden) grudge (rancor, spite…)?
47/Muhammad-30: Walaw nashao laaraynakahum falaAAaraftahum biseemahum walataAArifannahum fee lahni alqawli waAllahu yaAAlamu aAAmalakum
If We had willed, We could have shown them to you, and you should have recognized them by their marks; and most certainly you will recognize them by the tone (bending) of (their) speech, and Allah knows your deeds.
47/Muhammad-31: Walanabluwannakum hatta naAAlama almujahideena minkum waalssabireena wanabluwa akhbarakum
And most certainly We will try you until We have known those of you who strive hard (in the Way of Allah) and the patient and We shall test your news.
47/Muhammad-32: Inna allatheena kafaroo wasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi washaqqoo alrrasoola min baAAdi ma tabayyana lahumu alhuda lan yaduroo Allaha shayan wasayuhbitu aAAmalahum
Surely those who disbelieve and hinder (men) from the Way of Allah and oppose the Messenger after the Guidance (reaching Allah before dying) has become clear to them cannot harm Allah in any way, and He will make null (vain, fruitless) their deeds.
47/Muhammad-33: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ateeAAoo Allaha waateeAAoo alrrasoola wala tubtiloo aAAmalakum
O you who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah before dying)! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and do not make your deeds vain (of no effect).
47/Muhammad-34: Inna allatheena kafaroo wasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi thumma matoo wahum kuffarun falan yaghfira Allahu lahum
Surely those who disbelieve and hinder (men) from the Way of Allah, then they die while they are disbelievers, Allah will by no means forgive them (will not change their evil deeds into rewards).
47/Muhammad-35: Fala tahinoo watadAAoo ila alssalmi waantumu alaAAlawna waAllahu maAAakum walan yatirakum aAAmalakum
And be not slack (faint-hearted) and do not call (them) to peace as you have the upper hand, and Allah is with you and He will never decrease (the reward of) your deeds.
47/Muhammad-36: Innama alhayatu alddunya laAAibun walahwun wain tuminoo watattaqoo yutikum ojoorakum wala yasalkum amwalakum
The life of the world is only play and pastime; and if you believe and become the owners of piety (if you wish to reach Allah before dying), He will give you your rewards (wages) and will not ask of you your wealth (possessions).
47/Muhammad-37: In yasalkumooha fayuhfikum tabkhaloo wayukhrij adghanakum
If He should ask you for it (your property) and urge (press) you, you will be niggardly, and He will bring forth your malice (rancor, spite…).
47/Muhammad-38: Haantum haolai tudAAawna litunfiqoo fee sabeeli Allahi faminkum man yabkhalu waman yabkhal fainnama yabkhalu AAan nafsihi waAllahu alghaniyyu waantumu alfuqarao wain tatawallaw yastabdil qawman ghayrakum thumma la yakoonoo amthalakum
Now, you are so! You are those who are called upon to spend in the Way of Allah, yet among you are those who are niggardly, and whoever behaves stingily is niggardly against his own soul; and Allah is Self-Sufficient (Rich, Free of all needs) and it is you who are the needy, and if you turn away (from the Truth) He will replace you with another people, then they will not be (niggardly) like you.
