Sura List » Az-Zumar

39/Az-Zumar-1: Tanzeelu alkitabi mina Allahi alAAazeezi alhakeemi
The descent of the Book is from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

39/Az-Zumar-2: Inna anzalna ilayka alkitaba bialhaqqi faoAAbudi Allaha mukhlisan lahu alddeena
Surely We have sent down the Book to you with the truth, therefore serve (become a servant to) Allah (Alone) making the Religion pure for Him.

39/Az-Zumar-3: Ala lillahi alddeenu alkhalisu waallatheena ittakhathoo min doonihi awliyaa ma naAAbuduhum illa liyuqarriboona ila Allahi zulfa inna Allaha yahkumu baynahum fee ma hum feehi yakhtalifoona inna Allaha la yahdee man huwa kathibun kaffarun
The pure Religion is for Allah only! And (as for) those who take protecting friends besides Him, (saying) We do not worship them save that they may make us nearer to Allah, surely Allah will judge between them in that which they differ; surely Allah does not guide him aright who is a liar, a disbeliever (ungrateful).

39/Az-Zumar-4: Law arada Allahu an yattakhitha waladan laistafa mimma yakhluqu ma yashao subhanahu huwa Allahu alwahidu alqahharu
If Allah had willed to take a son (to Himself), He could have chosen whom He willed out of those whom He created. Glory be to Him: He is Allah, the One, the Subduer (the Irresistible).

39/Az-Zumar-5: Khalaqa alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi yukawwiru allayla AAala alnnahari wayukawwiru alnnahara AAala allayli wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree liajalin musamman ala huwa alAAazeezu alghaffaru
He has created the heavens and the earth with the truth; He winds the night round the day (like the winding of the turban round the head) and winds the day round the night and He has subjected the sun and the moon; each one runs on to an assigned term (in its orbit); now surely He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving, is He not?

39/Az-Zumar-6: Khalaqakum min nafsin wahidatin thumma jaAAala minha zawjaha waanzala lakum mina alanAAami thamaniyata azwajin yakhluqukum fee butooni ommahatikum khalqan min baAAdi khalqin fee thulumatin thalathin thalikumu Allahu rabbukum lahu almulku la ilaha illa huwa faanna tusrafoona
He created you (all) from a single person (soul) then made from him his wife. And he has sent down for you eight of the cattle in pairs. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers-a creation after a creation–in three veils of darkness; that is Allah, your Lord, His is the Kingdom (Sovereignty); there is no god but He; how then are you turned away?

39/Az-Zumar-7: In takfuroo fainna Allaha ghaniyyun AAankum wala yarda liAAibadihi alkufra wain tashkuroo yardahu lakum wala taziru waziratun wizra okhra thumma ila rabbikum marjiAAukum fayunabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori
If you disbelieve (If you are ungrateful), then surely Allah is Self-Sufficient (above all need of you); and he is not pleased with disbelief (ungratefulness) for His servants; and if you are grateful (by being believers), He is pleased with it for you. No bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another; then to your Lord is your return, then will He inform you of what you used to do. Surely He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts.

39/Az-Zumar-8: Waitha massa alinsana durrun daAAa rabbahu muneeban ilayhi thumma itha khawwalahu niAAmatan minhu nasiya ma kana yadAAoo ilayhi min qablu wajaAAala lillahi andadan liyudilla AAan sabeelihi qul tamattaAA bikufrika qaleelan innaka min ashabi alnnari
And when some harm touches man, he calls upon his Lord, turning to Him (in repentance); then when He bestows a Blessing upon him from Himself, he forgets that for which he called upon Him before, and he sets up rivals to Allah, in order to mislead (men) from His Way. Say: Enjoy yourself in your disbelief (ungratefulness) a little, surely you are of the inmates of the Fire.

39/Az-Zumar-9: Amman huwa qanitun anaa allayli sajidan waqaiman yahtharu alakhirata wayarjoo rahmata rabbihi qul hal yastawee allatheena yaAAlamoona waallatheena la yaAAlamoona innama yatathakkaru oloo alalbabi
What! Is one who is obedient (to Allah, worships Allah devoutly) during hours of the night, prostrating himself and standing, takes care of the Hereafter and hopes (wishes) for the Mercy of Allah (like one who disbelieves)? Say: Are those who know and those who do not know ever equal? Only the owners of the continuous remembrance [dhikr, the owners of the secret divine treasuries, ûli’l elbâb] deliberate (pay heed),

39/Az-Zumar-10: Qul ya AAibadi allatheena amanoo ittaqoo rabbakum lillatheena ahsanoo fee hathihi alddunya hasanatun waardu Allahi wasiAAatun innama yuwaffa alssabiroona ajrahum bighayri hisabin
Say: O my servants who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah while they are alive) be the owners of piety towards your Lord. For those who do good (are the best) in this world is good and Allah’s earth is spacious; only the patient will be paid back their reward in full without measure.

39/Az-Zumar-11: Qul innee omirtu an aAAbuda Allaha mukhlisan lahu alddeena
Say: I am commanded that I should serve (become a servant to) Allah, making the religion pure for Him (only).

39/Az-Zumar-12: Waomirtu lian akoona awwala almuslimeena
And I am commanded to be the first of those who are Muslims (who surrender to Him).

39/Az-Zumar-13: Qul innee akhafu in AAasaytu rabbee AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin
Say: I fear, if I disobey (I rebel against) my Lord, the torment of a great Day.

39/Az-Zumar-14: Quli Allaha aAAbudu mukhlisan lahu deenee
Say: I serve (I become a servant to) Allah Alone, making my religion pure for Him (only).

39/Az-Zumar-15: FaoAAbudoo ma shitum min doonihi qul inna alkhasireena allatheena khasiroo anfusahum waahleehim yawma alqiyamati ala thalika huwa alkhusranu almubeenu
Worship then what you like besides Him. Surely those who make themselves and their families fall into Misguidance are those who will be exposed to the Loss (Husrân) on the Day of Resurection. This is the clear Loss (husrân), is it not?

39/Az-Zumar-16: Lahum min fawqihim thulalun mina alnnari wamin tahtihim thulalun thalika yukhawwifu Allahu bihi AAibadahu ya AAibadi faittaqooni
For them there are shadows (coverings) of Fire, above them and shadows (coverings) (of Fire) beneath them; with that Allah makes His servants to fear; so have piety towards Me, O My servants!

39/Az-Zumar-17: Waallatheena ijtanaboo alttaghoota an yaAAbudooha waanaboo ila Allahi lahumu albushra fabashshir AAibadi
And those who avoid (ed) [save(d) themselves from] At-Tâghût (satans, satans from among the jinn and the men) lest they should serve (be servants to) them and turn (ed) to Allah [they wish (ed) to reach Allah while alive], for them there are glad tidings; therefore give good tidings to My servants!

39/Az-Zumar-18: Allatheena yastamiAAoona alqawla fayattabiAAoona ahsanahu olaika allatheena hadahumu Allahu waolaika hum oloo alalbabi
Those who listen to (hear) the Word, then follow the best of it; those are they whom Allah has guided (those are they whom Allah caused to attain Guidance) and those it is who are ûli’l elbâb (the owners of the continuous dhikr, consequently the owners of the secret divine treasuries).

39/Az-Zumar-19: Afaman haqqa AAalayhi kalimatu alAAathabi afaanta tunqithu man fee alnnari
Is then one against whom the Word of the torment is justified (equal to the one who avoids evil)? Will you rescue him who is in the Fire?

39/Az-Zumar-20: Lakini allatheena ittaqaw rabbahum lahum ghurafun min fawqiha ghurafun mabniyyatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu waAAda Allahi la yukhlifu Allahu almeeAAada
But those who have piety towards their Lord, for them are built lofty places (mansions) one above another under which the rivers flow. (This is) the Promise of Allah: Allah never fails in (His) Promise.

39/Az-Zumar-21: Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina alssamai maan fasalakahu yanabeeAAa fee alardi thumma yukhriju bihi zarAAan mukhtalifan alwanuhu thumma yaheeju fatarahu musfarran thumma yajAAaluhu hutaman inna fee thalika lathikra liolee alalbabi
Have you not seen that Allah sends down water (rain) from the sky, and causes it to penetrate the earth (and then makes it to spring up) as water–springs, then brings forth therewith herbage (crops) of various colors, then it withers so that you see it becoming yellow, then He makes it crumble away. Most surely there is indeed a reminder (dhikrâ) for ûli’l elbâb (the owners of the continuous dhikr, consequently the owners of the secret treasuries of Allah).

39/Az-Zumar-22: Afaman sharaha Allahu sadrahu lilislami fahuwa AAala noorin min rabbihi fawaylun lilqasiyati quloobuhum min thikri Allahi olaika fee dalalin mubeenin
What! Is he whose heart Allah slit (opened) for Islam (submissions, i.e the submission of the spirit, of the physical body, the soul and the free will to Allah) so that he is upon a light from his Lord (like the hard-hearted)? Nay, woe to those whose hearts are darkened (and hardened) from the Remembrance (dhikr) of Allah; those are in a manifest Misguidance.

39/Az-Zumar-23: Allahu nazzala ahsana alhadeethi kitaban mutashabihan mathaniya taqshaAAirru minhu juloodu allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum thumma taleenu julooduhum waquloobuhum ila thikri Allahi thalika huda Allahi yahdee bihi man yashao waman yudlili Allahu fama lahu min hadin
Allah sends down the most beautiful (among His lights) ones in two pairs (beneditions-mercy and benedictions-virtue) as similar to the Book. With those (lights), the skins of them (men) tremble (shiver), and then they have Hushû (reverence, awe) to their Lord. And then, they (the ligths), with the Dhikr of Allah (remembering and repeating the Name of Allah), soften their skins and their hearts (souls’ hearts) This is “HİDAYET” (The True Guidance Leading to Allah) of Allah. Allah takes [by purifying their (souls’) hearts with His lights so making them reach Himself) whom He wills to HİDAYET(The True Guidance Leading to Allah); and for him whom Allah leaves in DALÂLET (Misguidance), there is no one who can take him to HİDAYET (The True Guidance Leading to Allah).

39/Az-Zumar-24: Afaman yattaqee biwajhihi sooa alAAathabi yawma alqiyamati waqeela lilththalimeena thooqoo ma kuntum taksiboona
Is he then, who guards his face (his physical body) from the evil torment on the Day of Resurrection (as he who enters peacefully in Paradise)? [then who can protects his face (his physical body) from the evil torment on the Day of Resurrection]? And it will be said to the wrongdoers: Taste what you earned (the punishment of your sins).

39/Az-Zumar-25: Kaththaba allatheena min qablihim faatahumu alAAathabu min haythu la yashAAuroona
Those before them belied (denied), therefore the torment came to them from whence they did not perceived.

39/Az-Zumar-26: Faathaqahumu Allahu alkhizya fee alhayati alddunya walaAAathabu alakhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona
So Allah made them taste the disgrace in the life of the world, and certainly the torment (punishment) of the Hereafter is greater; did they but know!

39/Az-Zumar-27: Walaqad darabna lilnnasi fee hatha alqurani min kulli mathalin laAAallahum yatathakkaroona
And certainly We have set forth to men in this Qur’ân similitudes of every sort that they may deliberate (take heed, remember…).

39/Az-Zumar-28: Quranan AAarabiyyan ghayra thee AAiwajin laAAallahum yattaqoona
(This is) an Arabic Qur’ân without any crookedness (contradictions, flaws…) that they may become the owners of piety,

39/Az-Zumar-29: Daraba Allahu mathalan rajulan feehi shurakao mutashakisoona warajulan salaman lirajulin hal yastawiyani mathalan alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona
Allah sets forth a parable: There is a man in whom are (several) partners differing with one another (partners who cannot come to an agreement between them and there is a (n other) man submitting to one man only. Are those two equal in comparison?

39/Az-Zumar-30: Innaka mayyitun wainnahum mayyitoona
Surely you are subject to death and they (too) are subject to death, to be sure.

39/Az-Zumar-31: Thumma innakum yawma alqiyamati AAinda rabbikum takhtasimoona
Then surely on the Day of Resurrection in your Lord’s Presence you will contend one with another (you will be defendants and plaintiffs).

39/Az-Zumar-32: Faman athlamu mimman kathaba AAala Allahi wakaththaba bialssidqi ith jaahu alaysa fee jahannama mathwan lilkafireena
Then who does more wrong then one who utters a lie against Allah and (he who) denies (gives the lie to) the truth when it comes to him; is there not in Hell an abode for the disbelievers?

39/Az-Zumar-33: Waallathee jaa bialssidqi wasaddaqa bihi olaika humu almuttaqoona
And he who came with the truth [who calls (men) to wish to reach Allah]and he who confirmed it (he wishes to reach Allah before dying), these are they who are the pious (the owners of piety).

39/Az-Zumar-34: Lahum ma yashaoona AAinda rabbihim thalika jazao almuhsineena
All that they desire are of their Lord. This is the reward of the good-doers (Al-Muhsinûn).

39/Az-Zumar-35: Liyukaffira Allahu AAanhum aswaa allathee AAamiloo wayajziyahum ajrahum biahsani allathee kanoo yaAAmaloona
So that Allah will do away with the worst of what they did and give them their reward for the best of what they have done (He changes their evil deeds into rewards).

39/Az-Zumar-36: Alaysa Allahu bikafin AAabdahu wayukhawwifoonaka biallatheena min doonihi waman yudlili Allahu fama lahu min hadin
Is not Allah Sufficient for His servant? And they seek to frighten you with those besides Him (with other gods, idols); and whomsoever Allah leaves in Misguidance, there is no Guide (Mahdi) for him.

39/Az-Zumar-37: Waman yahdi Allahu fama lahu min mudillin alaysa Allahu biAAazeezin thee intiqamin
And whom Allah guides (and whom Allah causes to attain Guidance), there is none that can make him fall into Misguidance; is not Allah All-Mighty, Possessor of Revenge?

39/Az-Zumar-38: Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda layaqoolunna Allahu qul afaraaytum ma tadAAoona min dooni Allahi in aradaniya Allahu bidurrin hal hunna kashifatu durrihi aw aradanee birahmatin hal hunna mumsikatu rahmatihi qul hasbiya Allahu AAalayhi yatawakkalu almutawakkiloona
And assuredly, if you should ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth, they would most certainly say: Allah. Say: Have you then seen what you call upon besides Allah? If Allah willed some harm for me, could they remove His harm? Or if Allah willed some mercy for me, could they withold His mercy? Say: Allah is Sufficient for me; in Him those who trust must put their trust.

39/Az-Zumar-39: Qul ya qawmi iAAmaloo AAala makanatikum innee AAamilun fasawfa taAAlamoona
Say: O my people! Work in your place (do your best), surely I am a worker (too), So you will come to know,

39/Az-Zumar-40: Man yateehi AAathabun yukhzeehi wayahillu AAalayhi AAathabun muqeemun
To whom comes a disgracing torment and on whom descends a lasting torment.

39/Az-Zumar-41: Inna anzalna AAalayka alkitaba lilnnasi bialhaqqi famani ihtada falinafsihi waman dalla fainnama yadillu AAalayha wama anta AAalayhim biwakeelin
Surely, We have sent down to you the Book (this Qur’ân) for all mankind with the truth; so whoever attains Guidance, it is for his own soul and whoever remains in Misguidance, he is in Misguidance against himself.

39/Az-Zumar-42: Allahu yatawaffa alanfusa heena mawtiha waallatee lam tamut fee manamiha fayumsiku allatee qada AAalayha almawta wayursilu alokhra ila ajalin musamman inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona
Allah causes the physicel bodies to die at the time of their death and those who have not died, are in their sleep, then He retains the one (the physical body of the person in the state of sleep) and sends the other (the soul) till an appointed term (wherever it desires to go in dream); most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect (think deeply).

39/Az-Zumar-43: Ami ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi shufaAAaa qul awalaw kanoo la yamlikoona shayan wala yaAAqiloona
Or have they taken intercessors besides Allah? Say; even if they have power over nothing whatever and have no intelligence?

39/Az-Zumar-44: Qul lillahi alshshafaAAatu jameeAAan lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi thumma ilayhi turjaAAoona
Say; Allah’s is the intercession altogether; His is the earth, then to Him you shall be brought back.

39/Az-Zumar-45: Waitha thukira Allahu wahdahu ishmaazzat quloobu allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati waitha thukira allatheena min doonihi itha hum yastabshiroona
And when Allah Alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter (in reaching Allah and the Day of Resurrection) are filled with repulsion and horror and when those besides Him are mentioned, behold! They are joyful (they rejoice).

39/Az-Zumar-46: Quli allahumma fatira alssamawati waalardi AAalima alghaybi waalshshahadati anta tahkumu bayna AAibadika fee ma kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona
Say; O Allah! Creator (Originator) of the heavens and the earth, All-Knower of the Unseen and the Seen! You will judge between your servants about that in which they used to differ.

39/Az-Zumar-47: Walaw anna lillatheena thalamoo ma fee alardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu laiftadaw bihi min sooi alAAathabi yawma alqiyamati wabada lahum mina Allahi ma lam yakoonoo yahtasiboona
And those who did wrong, if they had all that is in the earth and the like of it with it, they would certainly offer it as ransom (to be saved) from the evil of the torment on the Day of Resurrection; and there will become apparent to them from Allah what they had not been reckoning.

39/Az-Zumar-48: Wabada lahum sayyiatu ma kasaboo wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona
And the evil (consequences) of what they earned became plain to them and the very thing (the torment) they mocked at beset them.

39/Az-Zumar-49: Faitha massa alinsana durrun daAAana thumma itha khawwalnahu niAAmatan minna qala innama ooteetuhu AAala AAilmin bal hiya fitnatun walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona
So when harm touches man, he calls upon Us; then, when We give him a blessing from Us, he says; I have been given it only because of (upon) a knowledge. Nay, it is a trial, but most of them do not know.

39/Az-Zumar-50: Qad qalaha allatheena min qablihim fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona
Those before them (too) did say it indeed, but whatever they earned did not avail them.

39/Az-Zumar-51: Faasabahum sayyiatu ma kasaboo waallatheena thalamoo min haolai sayuseebuhum sayyiatu ma kasaboo wama hum bimuAAjizeena
So the evil (results) of what they earned befell them. And those who did wrong of those, the evil (results) of what they earn will soon befall them (too) and they cannot render (Allah) weak (impotant) (they do not have the power to prevent the torment).

39/Az-Zumar-52: Awalam yaAAlamoo anna Allaha yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona
Do they not know that Allah enlarges the sustenance for whom He wills, and straitens (measures) (it) (for whom He wills); most surely there are Sings in this for a people who believe.

39/Az-Zumar-53: Qul ya AAibadiya allatheena asrafoo AAala anfusihim la taqnatoo min rahmati Allahi inna Allaha yaghfiru alththunooba jameeAAan innahu huwa alghafooru alrraheemu
Say: O My servants Who have acted extravagantly against their own souls, do not despair of the Mercy of Allah! Surely Allah forgives (changes into rewards) the faults (sins) altogether; surely He is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.

39/Az-Zumar-54: Waaneeboo ila rabbikum waaslimoo lahu min qabli an yatiyakumu alAAathabu thumma la tunsaroona
And turn to your Lord (wish to make your spirit reach Allah while you are alive) and submit to Him (Allah) (submit your spirit, your physical body, your soul and your free will to Allah) before the torment comes upon you, then (otherwise) you will not be helped.

39/Az-Zumar-55: WaittabiAAoo ahsana ma onzila ilaykum min rabbikum min qabli an yatiyakumu alAAathabu baghtatan waantum la tashAAuroona
And follow (depend on) the best (the order) of that which is sent down to you from your Lord, before the torment comes on you suddenly while you do not even perceive.

39/Az-Zumar-56: An taqoola nafsun ya hasrata AAala ma farrattu fee janbi Allahi wain kuntu lamina alssakhireena
Lest a soul should say; O woe to me! For what I fell short of my duty to Allah [Alas, my grief for all that in which I have exceeded the limit concerning my going away from Allah] and I was indeed of those who mocked.

39/Az-Zumar-57: Aw taqoola law anna Allaha hadanee lakuntu mina almuttaqeena
Or it should say; If Allah had guided me (If Allah had caused me to attain Guidance) I would certainly have been of those who are the owners of piety.

39/Az-Zumar-58: Aw taqoola heena tara alAAathaba law anna lee karratan faakoona mina almuhsineena
Or it should say when it sees the torment: If only I had another chance (to return to the world), then I should indeed be of the good-doers (Muhsinûn).

39/Az-Zumar-59: Bala qad jaatka ayatee fakaththabta biha waistakbarta wakunta mina alkafireena
Yes! My Verses (Signs) came to you, but you denied (belied) them, and you were proud and you were of the disbelievers.

39/Az-Zumar-60: Wayawma alqiyamati tara allatheena kathaboo AAala Allahi wujoohuhum muswaddatun alaysa fee jahannama mathwan lilmutakabbireena
And on the Day of Resurrection you shall see those who lied against Allah; their faces shall be blackened. Is there not in Hell an abode for the proud?

39/Az-Zumar-61: Wayunajjee Allahu allatheena ittaqaw bimafazatihim la yamassuhumu alssooo wala hum yahzanoona
And Allah delivers those who have piety because of their having bountifulness (feyz; because the light of calmness have reached them); evil does not touch them, nor do they grieve,

39/Az-Zumar-62: Allahu khaliqu kulli shayin wahuwa AAala kulli shayin wakeelun
Allah is the Creator of every thing and He is a Trustee over all things.

39/Az-Zumar-63: Lahu maqaleedu alssamawati waalardi waallatheena kafaroo biayati Allahi olaika humu alkhasiroona
His are the treasures of the heavens and the earth; and (as for) those who disbelieve in the Verses (Signs) of Allah, these it is that are in Loss (Husrân).

39/Az-Zumar-64: Qul afaghayra Allahi tamuroonnee aAAbudu ayyuha aljahiloona
