Sura List » Az-Zukhruf

43/Az-Zukhruf-1: Hameem
Hâ-Mîm [These disjointed letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].

43/Az-Zukhruf-2: Waalkitabi almubeeni
(I swear) by the Manifest Book (i.e. This Qur’an that makes all things clear).

43/Az-Zukhruf-3: Inna jaAAalnahu quranan AAarabiyyan laAAallakum taAAqiloona
Surely We made it an Arabic (Impeccable) Qur’an that you may think (of its Content).

43/Az-Zukhruf-4: Wainnahu fee ommi alkitabi ladayna laAAaliyyun hakeemun
And surely it is in the Mother of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom (the owner of judgment and wisdom)

43/Az-Zukhruf-5: Afanadribu AAankumu alththikra safhan an kuntum qawman musrifeena
What! Shall We then take away the Reminder (this Qur’an, Dhikr) from you altogether because you are an extravagant people?

43/Az-Zukhruf-6: Wakam arsalna min nabiyyin fee alawwaleena
And how many a Prophet have We sent among the ancients.

43/Az-Zukhruf-7: Wama yateehim min nabiyyin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona
And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him.

43/Az-Zukhruf-8: Faahlakna ashadda minhum batshan wamada mathalu alawwaleena
Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these (the dwellers of Makkah) in prowess, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them).

43/Az-Zukhruf-9: Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda layaqoolunna khalaqahunna alAAazeezu alAAaleemu
And if you should ask them, who created the heavens and the earth? They would most certainly say: The All- Mighty, the All- Knower created them.

43/Az-Zukhruf-10: Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda mahdan wajaAAala lakum feeha subulan laAAallakum tahtadoona
Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and made in it ways for you that you may attain to Guidance (you may reach your goal).

43/Az-Zukhruf-11: Waallathee nazzala mina alssamai maan biqadarin faansharna bihi baldatan maytan kathalika tukhrajoona
And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure (according to a measure) then We revive a dead land therewith, even thus shall you be brought forth (from your graves).

43/Az-Zukhruf-12: Waallathee khalaqa alazwaja kullaha wajaAAala lakum mina alfulki waalanAAami ma tarkaboona
And Who created all the pairs and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on.

43/Az-Zukhruf-13: Litastawoo AAala thuhoorihi thumma tathkuroo niAAmata rabbikum itha istawaytum AAalayhi wataqooloo subhana allathee sakhkhara lana hatha wama kunna lahu muqrineena
That you may mount on their backs, and then remember the Blessing of your Lord when you mount thereon and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it.

43/Az-Zukhruf-14: Wainna ila rabbina lamunqaliboona
And surely to our Lord we are to return (by passing from stage to another).

43/Az-Zukhruf-15: WajaAAaloo lahu min AAibadihi juzan inna alinsana lakafoorun mubeenun
And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful (a denier).

43/Az-Zukhruf-16: Ami ittakhatha mimma yakhluqu banatin waasfakum bialbaneena
What! Has He taken daughters to Himself of what He Himself creates and chosen you to have sons?

43/Az-Zukhruf-17: Waitha bushshira ahaduhum bima daraba lilrrahmani mathalan thalla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun
And when one of them is given news of that of which he sets up as a likeness for the All-Merciful (God), his face becomes black and he is full of rage (grief).

43/Az-Zukhruf-18: Awaman yunashshao fee alhilyati wahuwa fee alkhisami ghayru mubeenin
What! (Would they assign to Allah the offspring) who is brought up in adornments and who in contention cannot make herself clear?

43/Az-Zukhruf-19: WajaAAaloo almalaikata allatheena hum AAibadu alrrahmani inathan ashahidoo khalqahum satuktabu shahadatuhum wayusaloona
And they make the angels-them who are the servants of the All-Merciful (God) females. What! Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be written down and they shall be questioned.

43/Az-Zukhruf-20: Waqaloo law shaa alrrahmanu ma AAabadnahum ma lahum bithalika min AAilmin in hum illa yakhrusoona
And they say: If the All-Merciful (God) had willed, we should never have worshipped them. They have no knowledge of this; they only lie.

43/Az-Zukhruf-21: Am ataynahum kitaban min qablihi fahum bihi mustamsikoona
Or have We given them a Book before it so that they hold fast to it?

43/Az-Zukhruf-22: Bal qaloo inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muhtadoona
Nay! They say: We found our fathers on a certain way and religion, and surely we are guided by (on) their footsteps.

43/Az-Zukhruf-23: Wakathalika ma arsalna min qablika fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muqtadoona
And even so, We did not send before you any Warner in a town, but those who led easy lives (the luxurious ones) in it said: Surely we found our fathers on a (religious) way, and surely we are followers of their footsteps.

43/Az-Zukhruf-24: Qala awalaw jitukum biahda mimma wajadtum AAalayhi abaakum qaloo inna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroona
He (the Warner) said: What! Even if I bring to you (that which makes you reach) a better Guidance than that (the religion) on which you found your fathers? They said: Surely we are disbelievers in that with which you are sent.

43/Az-Zukhruf-25: Faintaqamna minhum faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almukaththibeena
So We took revenge on them, then see how was the end of the rejecters!

43/Az-Zukhruf-26: Waith qala ibraheemu liabeehi waqawmihi innanee baraon mimma taAAbudoona
And when Abraham said to his father and his people: Surely I am clear (innocent, far away from) of what you worship.

43/Az-Zukhruf-27: Illa allathee fataranee fainnahu sayahdeeni
Except Him Who did create me; and verily He will guide me (He will cause me to attain Guidance, He will make me reach Himself).

43/Az-Zukhruf-28: WajaAAalaha kalimatan baqiyatan fee AAaqibihi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
And He made it a Word lasting in his posterity that they may return (from the idols)

43/Az-Zukhruf-29: Bal mattaAAtu haolai waabaahum hatta jaahumu alhaqqu warasoolun mubeenun
Nay! I gave them and their fathers to enjoy until there came to them the truth (the Qur’ân) and a Messenger making it (the Qur’ân) clear (expounding it)

43/Az-Zukhruf-30: Walamma jaahumu alhaqqu qaloo hatha sihrun wainna bihi kafiroona
And when the truth (the Qur’ân) came to them, they said: This is magic (a sorcery) and we are disbelievers in it.

43/Az-Zukhruf-31: Waqaloo lawla nuzzila hatha alquranu AAala rajulin mina alqaryatayni AAatheemun
And they say: If only this Qur’ân had been sent down to one of the great men of the two cities (Makkah and Tâ’if)?

43/Az-Zukhruf-32: Ahum yaqsimoona rahmata rabbika nahnu qasamna baynahum maAAeeshatahum fee alhayati alddunya warafaAAna baAAdahum fawqa baAAdin darajatin liyattakhitha baAAduhum baAAdan sukhriyyan warahmatu rabbika khayrun mimma yajmaAAoona
Is it they who distribute the Mercy of your Lord? It is We Who distribute between them their livelihood in the life of this world, and We have exalted some of them above others in degrees, that some of them may take (employ) others in their work (service); and the Mercy of your Lord is better than what they amass (than the money they amass by not employing others in their work)

43/Az-Zukhruf-33: Walawla an yakoona alnnasu ommatan wahidatan lajaAAalna liman yakfuru bialrrahmani libuyootihim suqufan min fiddatin wamaAAarija AAalayha yathharoona
And were it not that all people had become a single nation (one community) [through love of riches], We would certainly have made for those who disbelieve in the All-Merciful (God) houses with roofs of silver and the stairways (of silver) by which they ascend.

43/Az-Zukhruf-34: Walibuyootihim abwaban wasururan AAalayha yattakioona
And for their houses doors (of silver) and couches (of silver) on which they recline.

43/Az-Zukhruf-35: Wazukhrufan wain kullu thalika lamma mataAAu alhayati alddunya waalakhiratu AAinda rabbika lilmuttaqeena
And adornments of gold (jewels thereon). Yet all this would have been nothing but an enjoyment of this world, and the Hereafter is with your Lord only for the owners of piety (Muttaqûn = the pious).

43/Az-Zukhruf-36: Waman yaAAshu AAan thikri alrrahmani nuqayyid lahu shaytanan fahuwa lahu qareenun
And whoever turns away blindly from the remembrance (dhikr) of the All-Merciful (God), We set a devil for him, so he becomes a companion to him.

43/Az-Zukhruf-37: Wainnahum layasuddoonahum AAani alssabeeli wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona
And most surely they (Satans/devils) turn them from the Way (of Allah), and reckon (think) that they are on the Guidance (they are rightly guided).

43/Az-Zukhruf-38: Hatta itha jaana qala ya layta baynee wabaynaka buAAda almashriqayni fabisa alqareenu
Until, when he comes to Us, he says: O would that between me and you there were the distance of the two easts (or the East and the West), (you turned out to be) a most evil companion!

43/Az-Zukhruf-39: Walan yanfaAAakumu alyawma ith thalamtum annakum fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona
And it will not profit you this Day (since) you had done wrong. Surely you are sharers in the Torment.

43/Az-Zukhruf-40: Afaanta tusmiAAu alssumma aw tahdee alAAumya waman kana fee dalalin mubeenin
What! Will you then make the deaf to hear or guide the blind and him who is in clear Misguidance?

43/Az-Zukhruf-41: Faimma nathhabanna bika fainna minhum muntaqimoona
And if We take you away (from the world), We surely shall take vengeance on them

43/Az-Zukhruf-42: Aw nuriyannaka allathee waAAadnahum fainna AAalayhim muqtadiroona
Or, We will certainly show you that which (the Torment) We have promised them; for surely We have full Power over them.

43/Az-Zukhruf-43: Faistamsik biallathee oohiya ilayka innaka AAala siratin mustaqeemin
Therefore hold fast to that which has been revealed to you; surely you are on the Path directed (towards Allah)

43/Az-Zukhruf-44: Wainnahu lathikrun laka waliqawmika wasawfa tusaloona
And most surely it is indeed a reminder (dhikr, a great honor) for you and for your people, and you shall soon be questioned (about it)

43/Az-Zukhruf-45: Waisal man arsalna min qablika min rusulina ajaAAalna min dooni alrrahmani alihatan yuAAbadoona
And ask those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: Did We ever make (appoint) gods to be worshipped besides the All-Merciful (Allah)?

43/Az-Zukhruf-46: Walaqad arsalna moosa biayatina ila firAAawna wamalaihi faqala innee rasoolu rabbi alAAalameena
And certainly We sent Moses with Our Signs (miracles) to Pharaoh and his chiefs (notables), so he said: Surely I am a Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds.

43/Az-Zukhruf-47: Falamma jaahum biayatina itha hum minha yadhakoona
Then, when he came to them with Our Signs (miracles), behold! They laughed at them (they mocked at them).

43/Az-Zukhruf-48: Wama nureehim min ayatin illa hiya akbaru min okhtiha waakhathnahum bialAAathabi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
And We did not show them a Sign (a miracle) but it was greater than its fellow, and We seized them with the torment, in order that they might turn [from their (so-called) gods to Allah]

43/Az-Zukhruf-49: Waqaloo ya ayyuha alsahiru odAAu lana rabbaka bima AAahida AAindaka innana lamuhtadoona
And they said: O magician! Call on your Lord for us, by virtue of the pact that He has made with you: (In that case) We shall surely be on the Guidance.

43/Az-Zukhruf-50: Falamma kashafna AAanhumu alAAathaba itha hum yankuthoona
But when We removed from them the torment, behold! They broke the pledge.

43/Az-Zukhruf-51: Wanada firAAawnu fee qawmihi qala ya qawmi alaysa lee mulku misra wahathihi alanharu tajree min tahtee afala tubsiroona
And Pharaoh proclaimed amongst his people: O my people! Is not mine the kingdom of Egypt? And these rivers flowing beneath me? Do you not then see?

43/Az-Zukhruf-52: Am ana khayrun min hatha allathee huwa maheenun wala yakadu yubeenu
Or, am I not better than this one who is despicable and who can hardly express himself clearly?

43/Az-Zukhruf-53: Falawla olqiya AAalayhi aswiratun min thahabin aw jaa maAAahu almalaikatu muqtarineena
Why, then, have bracelets of gold not been set upon him, or angels sent along with him?

43/Az-Zukhruf-54: Faistakhaffa qawmahu faataAAoohu innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena
So he (Pharaoh) made light of his people (He looked down on his people) and they obeyed him; surely they were a transgressing people (a people who were not in the Way of Allah or had gone out of it, Fasiqûn).

43/Az-Zukhruf-55: Falamma asafoona intaqamna minhum faaghraqnahum ajmaAAeena
So when they made us regret (when they angered us), We took vengeance on them, for this reason drowned them all together.

43/Az-Zukhruf-56: FajaAAalnahum salafan wamathalan lilakhireena
And We made them a precedent (as a lesson for those communities coming after them) and an example for the later generations.

43/Az-Zukhruf-57: Walamma duriba ibnu maryama mathalan itha qawmuka minhu yasiddoona
And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! your people raise a clamor thereat.

43/Az-Zukhruf-58: Waqaloo aalihatuna khayrun am huwa ma daraboohu laka illa jadalan bal hum qawmun khasimoona
And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you except for disputation (argument); nay, they are a contentious people.

43/Az-Zukhruf-59: In huwa illa AAabdun anAAamna AAalayhi wajaAAalnahu mathalan libanee israeela
He (Jesus) was not more than a servant, We granted our Blessing to him, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.

43/Az-Zukhruf-60: Walaw nashao lajaAAalna minkum malaikatan fee alardi yakhlufoona
And if We had willed, We could have made out of you angels to replace you in the earth.

43/Az-Zukhruf-61: Wainnahu laAAilmun lilssaAAati fala tamtarunna biha waittabiAAooni hatha siratun mustaqeemun
And most surely he is indeed a knowledge for (the coming of) the Hour (the Day of Resurrection), therefore have no doubt about it (the Day of Resurrection) and depend on Me: this is (to be on) the Straight Path (leading to Me).

43/Az-Zukhruf-62: Wala yasuddannakumu alshshaytanu innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun
And let not Satan hinder you (from the Straight Path), surely he is an open enemy for you.

43/Az-Zukhruf-63: Walamma jaa AAeesa bialbayyinati qala qad jitukum bialhikmati waliobayyina lakum baAAda allathee takhtalifoona feehi faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
And when Jesus came with the clear arguments (miracles, proofs, evidences…), he said: I have come to you indeed with the Wisdom (Al-Hikmah), and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so have piety towards Allah and obey me.

43/Az-Zukhruf-64: Inna Allaha huwa rabbee warabbukum faoAAbudoohu hatha siratun mustaqeemun
Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord; therefore serve (become servants to) Him; this is the Straight Path (leading to Allah).

43/Az-Zukhruf-65: Faikhtalafa alahzabu min baynihim fawaylun lillatheena thalamoo min AAathabi yawmin aleemin
But the factions (sects, parties) from among themselves differed, so woe to those who do wrong from the torment of a painful Day.

43/Az-Zukhruf-66: Hal yanthuroona illa alssaAAata an tatiyahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona
Do they wait for anything but the Hour, that it should come upon them all of a sudden while they do not perceive?

43/Az-Zukhruf-67: Alakhillao yawmaithin baAAduhum libaAAdin AAaduwwun illa almuttaqeena
The friends shall on that Day be enemies one to another, except the owners of piety.

43/Az-Zukhruf-68: Ya AAibadi la khawfun AAalaykumu alyawma wala antum tahzanoona
O My servants! There is no fear for you this Day, nor shall you grieve.

43/Az-Zukhruf-69: Allatheena amanoo biayatina wakanoo muslimeena
Those who believed in Our Verses (Signs…) and submitted (to Allah).

43/Az-Zukhruf-70: Odkhuloo aljannata antum waazwajukum tuhbaroona
Enter the Garden (Paradise), you and your wives; to be made glad (relieved) (there).

43/Az-Zukhruf-71: Yutafu AAalayhim bisihafin min thahabin waakwabin wafeeha ma tashtaheehi alanfusu watalaththu alaAAyunu waantum feeha khalidoona
For them shall be passed round dishes and goblets of gold and therein shall be all that souls yearn after and all that eyes shall delight in. And you shall abide therein (forever).

43/Az-Zukhruf-72: Watilka aljannatu allatee oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona
And this is the Garden (Paradise) which you have been made to inherit because of what you used to do.

43/Az-Zukhruf-73: Lakum feeha fakihatun katheeratun minha takuloona
For you therein are fruits in plenty, of which you shall eat.

43/Az-Zukhruf-74: Inna almujrimeena fee AAathabi jahannama khalidoona
Surely the criminals (the guilty) will be in the Torment of Hell to abide therein forever.

43/Az-Zukhruf-75: La yufattaru AAanhum wahum feehi mublisoona
it (the Torment) shall not be abated (lightened) from them and they shall therein be despairing (of the Mercy of Allah).

43/Az-Zukhruf-76: Wama thalamnahum walakin kanoo humu alththalimeena
We did not wrong them, but they themselves were the wrong-doers (the unjust).

43/Az-Zukhruf-77: Wanadaw ya maliku liyaqdi AAalayna rabbuka qala innakum makithoona
And they shall call out: O Mâlik (Keeper of Hell)! Let your Lord make an end of us. He shall say: Surely you shall remain (in this Torment).

43/Az-Zukhruf-78: Laqad jinakum bialhaqqi walakinna aktharakum lilhaqqi karihoona
Certainly We have brought you the truth, but most of you are averse to the truth.

43/Az-Zukhruf-79: Am abramoo amran fainna mubrimoona
Or have they settled an affair? Then surely We are the settlers.

43/Az-Zukhruf-80: Am yahsaboona anna la nasmaAAu sirrahum wanajwahum bala warusuluna ladayhim yaktuboona
Or do they reckon (think) that We do not hear what they conceal and their secret discourses? (Yes We do) and Our messengers (appointed angels in charge of the men) with them (at their sides) write down (everything).

43/Az-Zukhruf-81: Qul in kana lilrrahmani waladun faana awwalu alAAabideena
Say: if the All-Merciful (Allah) had a son, I would be the first of those who serve (be a servant to him).

43/Az-Zukhruf-82: Subhana rabbi alssamawati waalardi rabbi alAAarshi AAamma yasifoona
Glory be to the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the Throne, from what they describe.

43/Az-Zukhruf-83: Fatharhum yakhoodoo wayalAAaboo hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee yooAAadoona
So leave them, let them plunge into false discourses and play until they meet their Day which they are promised (threatened with).

43/Az-Zukhruf-84: Wahuwa allathee fee alssamai ilahun wafee alardi ilahun wahuwa alhakeemu alAAaleemu
And He it is Who is God in the heaven and God in the earth; and He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower.

43/Az-Zukhruf-85: Watabaraka allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma waAAindahu AAilmu alssaAAati wailayhi turjaAAoona
And Blessed is He Whose is the Sovereignty (the Kingdom) of the heavens and the earth and what is between them and with Him is the Knowledge of the Hour and to Him you shall be returned.

43/Az-Zukhruf-86: Wala yamliku allatheena yadAAoona min doonihi alshshafaAAata illa man shahida bialhaqqi wahum yaAAlamoona
And those whom they call upon besides Him have no power of intercession, except those who bear witness of the Truth (Hakk) and they do know (the Truth).

43/Az-Zukhruf-87: Walain saaltahum man khalaqahum layaqoolunna Allahu faanna yufakoona
And if you should ask them who created them, they would certainly say; Allah, How, then, are they turned away (from the Truth)?

43/Az-Zukhruf-88: Waqeelihi yarabbi inna haolai qawmun la yuminoona
(I swear) by his saying: O my Lord! Surely, these are a people who do not believe.

43/Az-Zukhruf-89: Faisfah AAanhum waqul salamun fasawfa yaAAlamoona
So turn away from them and say; Peace (be upon you)! For they shall soon come to know.
