81/At-Takwir-1: Itha alshshamsu kuwwirat
When the sun is folded up (rounded, wound round, darkened),
81/At-Takwir-2: Waitha alnnujoomu inkadarat
And when the stars are faded (when the stars lost their energy),
81/At-Takwir-3: Waitha aljibalu suyyirat
And when the mountains are made to move,
81/At-Takwir-4: Waitha alAAisharu AAuttilat
And when the ten- month pregnant camels (the precious worldly possessions) are abandoned,
81/At-Takwir-5: Waitha alwuhooshu hushirat
And when the wild animals are herded together
81/At-Takwir-6: Waitha albiharu sujjirat
And when the seas become as blazing fire (or overflow),
81/At-Takwir-7: Waitha alnnufoosu zuwwijat
And when the souls are reunited (with their bodies)
81/At-Takwir-8: Waitha almawoodatu suilat
And when the female infant buried alive is asked
81/At-Takwir-9: Biayyi thanbin qutilat
For what sin she was killed,
81/At-Takwir-10: Waitha alssuhufu nushirat
And when the (written) pages (of men’s deeds) are spread (are laid open)[when the life films are on],
81/At-Takwir-11: Waitha alssamao kushitat
And when the heaven is stripped off (and taken away from its place) [And when the heaven has its covering removed],
81/At-Takwir-12: Waitha aljaheemu suAAAAirat
And when the blazing Fire (the Hell) is set ablaze,
81/At-Takwir-13: Waitha aljannatu ozlifat
and when the Garden (Paradise) is brought near,
81/At-Takwir-14: AAalimat nafsun ma ahdarat
Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared (it will see in his life film all that it has done)
81/At-Takwir-15: Fala oqsimu bialkhunnasi
But nay! I swear by the ‘Hunnes’ (the centripetal forces)
81/At-Takwir-16: Aljawari alkunnasi
The ‘Kunnes’ (those that rotate in their orbits)
81/At-Takwir-17: Waallayli itha AAasAAasa
And the night when it comes with its darkness
81/At-Takwir-18: Waalssubhi itha tanaffasa
And the morning when it breathes (when it begins to dawn)
81/At-Takwir-19: Innahu laqawlu rasoolin kareemin
Most surely it (the Qur’an) is the Word of an honored Messenger
81/At-Takwir-20: Thee quwwatin AAinda thee alAAarshi makeenin
Owner of power (and high rank and honor) with the Possessor of the Throne.
81/At-Takwir-21: MutaAAin thamma ameenin
One (to be) obeyed there, trustworthy;
81/At-Takwir-22: Wama sahibukum bimajnoonin
And your companion is not gone mad.
81/At-Takwir-23: Walaqad raahu bialofuqi almubeeni
And indeed he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon.
81/At-Takwir-24: Wama huwa AAala alghaybi bidaneenin
And he is not a tenacious concealer of the Unseen (He conveys the Revelation as it is).
81/At-Takwir-25: Wama huwa biqawli shaytanin rajeemin
and it (the Qur’an) is not the word of an accursed (outcast) satan.
81/At-Takwir-26: Faayna tathhaboona
Then where are you going?
81/At-Takwir-27: In huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena
Verily, this (the Qur’an) is but a Reminder for the worlds (nations, mankind, jinn…).
81/At-Takwir-28: Liman shaa minkum an yastaqeema
for him among you who wills to be on the (right) Direction (to walk straight, to go towards Allah).
81/At-Takwir-29: Wama tashaoona illa an yashaa Allahu rabbu alAAalameena
and you cannot will unless Allah wills, (the) Lord of the Worlds.
