Sura List » At-Tahrim

66/At-Tahrim-1: Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu lima tuharrimu ma ahalla Allahu laka tabtaghee mardata azwajika waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun
O Prophet! Why do you forbid (for yourself) that which Allah has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

66/At-Tahrim-2: Qad farada Allahu lakum tahillata aymanikum waAllahu mawlakum wahuwa alAAaleemu alhakeemu
Allah has already ordained (sanctioned) for you the absolution from your (unnecessary) oaths and Allah is your Protecting Friend (Maula) and He is the All-Knower, the All-Wise.

66/At-Tahrim-3: Waith asarra alnnabiyyu ila baAAdi azwajihi hadeethan falamma nabbaat bihi waathharahu Allahu AAalayhi AAarrafa baAAdahu waaAArada AAan baAAdin falamma nabbaaha bihi qalat man anbaaka hatha qala nabbaaniya alAAaleemu alkhabeeru
When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidance to one of his wives, then she informed (others) of it and Allah made it known to him; he made known one part of it and avoided a part; so when he informed her of it, she said: Who informed you of this? He (the Prophet) said: The All-Knower, the All-Avare, informed me.

66/At-Tahrim-4: In tatooba ila Allahi faqad saghat quloobukuma wain tathahara AAalayhi fainna Allaha huwa mawlahu wajibreelu wasalihu almumineena waalmalaikatu baAAda thalika thaheerun
If you both turn to Allah (in repentance) [and you absolutely have to do it] then indeed your hearts are already inclined (to this); and if you back up each other against him (the Prophet), then surely Allah it is Who is his Protecting Friend and Gabriel (Jibril) and the improved believers and the angels after that are the helpers.

66/At-Tahrim-5: AAasa rabbuhu in tallaqakunna an yubdilahu azwajan khayran minkunna muslimatin muminatin qanitatin taibatin AAabidatin saihatin thayyibatin waabkaran
Maybe, his Lord, if he divorces you, will give him in your place wives better than you, submissive (to Allah, muslimât) believers, obedient (to Allah, kânitât), turning to Allah in repentance (penitent), serving [became servants (to Allah)], given to fasting (or emigrants in the Way of Allah, sa’ihât) widows and virgins.

66/At-Tahrim-6: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo qoo anfusakum waahleekum naran waqooduha alnnasu waalhijaratu AAalayha malaikatun ghilathun shidadun la yaAAsoona Allaha ma amarahum wayafAAaloona ma yumaroona
O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before dying)! Guard yourselves and your families against the Fire whose fuel is men and stones; over it are angels stern (and) severe, they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them, and do as they are commanded.

66/At-Tahrim-7: Ya ayyuha allatheena kafaroo la taAAtathiroo alyawma innama tujzawna ma kuntum taAAmaloona
O you who disbelieve! Make no excuses this Day! You will be requited only for what you used to do.

66/At-Tahrim-8: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo tooboo ila Allahi tawbatan nasoohan AAasa rabbukum an yukaffira AAankum sayyiatikum wayudkhilakum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu yawma la yukhzee Allahu alnnabiyya waallatheena amanoo maAAahu nooruhum yasAAa bayna aydeehim wabiaymanihim yaqooloona rabbana atmim lana noorana waighfir lana innaka AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before dying)! Turn to Allah (in repentance) with an Irrevocable Repentance; maybe your Lord will remove from you evil deeds and cause you to enter Gardens under which the rivers flow, on that Day, Allah will not abase (disgrace) the Prophet and those who believe with him; their light run on before them and on their right hands; they say: Our Lord! Make complete for us our light, and forgive us. Surely You have Power over all things.

66/At-Tahrim-9: Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu jahidi alkuffara waalmunafiqeena waoghluth AAalayhim wamawahum jahannamu wabisa almaseeru
O Prophet! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern against them, and their abode is Hell, and evil is the eventual coming (journeying’s end).

66/At-Tahrim-10: Daraba Allahu mathalan lillatheena kafaroo imraata noohin waimraata lootin kanata tahta AAabdayni min AAibadina salihayni fakhanatahuma falam yughniya AAanhuma mina Allahi shayan waqeela odkhula alnnara maAAa alddakhileena
Allah sets forth an example for those who disbelieve the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were both under (the tie of marriage of) two of Our improved servants, but they both betrayed them. So they (Noah and Lot) did not avail them (their respective wives) against Allah and it was said: Enter both the Fire along with those who enter (it).

66/At-Tahrim-11: Wadaraba Allahu mathalan lillatheena amanoo imraata firAAawna ith qalat rabbi ibni lee AAindaka baytan fee aljannati wanajjinee min firAAawna waAAamalihi wanajjinee mina alqawmi alththalimeena
And Allah sets forth an example to those who believe (who are âmenû) the wife of Pharaoh when she said: My Lord! Build for me a house with you in the Garden (Paradise) and deliver me from Pharaoh and his doing, and deliver me from the unjust people:

66/At-Tahrim-12: Wamaryama ibnata AAimrana allatee ahsanat farjaha fanafakhna feehi min roohina wasaddaqat bikalimati rabbiha wakutubihi wakanat mina alqaniteena
And Mary, the daughter of ‘Imrân who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her of Our Spirit and she confirmed (remained loyal to) the Words of her Lord and His Books, and she was the obedient one (to Allah, qânitîn)
