Sura List » Ar-Ra'd

13/Ar-Ra'd-1: Aliflammeemra tilka ayatu alkitabi waallathee onzila ilayka min rabbika alhaqqu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yuminoona
Alif-Lâm-Mîm-Râ. [These disjointed letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’ân; and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings] These are the Verses of the Book, and that which is sent down to you from your Lord is the truth, but most people do not believe.

13/Ar-Ra'd-2: Allahu allathee rafaAAa alssamawati bighayri AAamadin tarawnaha thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree liajalin musamman yudabbiru alamra yufassilu alayati laAAallakum biliqai rabbikum tooqinoona
Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you (can) see. Then, He rose over (established Himself upon) the Throne and He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His Law); each one pursues its course for a named (appointed) term. He (manages and) regulates the affair; He explains the Verses (Signs…) in detail, that you may be certain of meeting (reaching) your Lord (of making your spirits reach Allah before dying).

13/Ar-Ra'd-3: Wahuwa allathee madda alarda wajaAAala feeha rawasiya waanharan wamin kulli alththamarati jaAAala feeha zawjayni ithnayni yughshee allayla alnnahara inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona
And He it is Who spread out the earth and made in it firm mountains (like anchors) and rivers, and of all fruits He has made in it two in pairs; He makes the night cover the day; most surely there are Signs in this for a people who reflect.

13/Ar-Ra'd-4: Wafee alardi qitaAAun mutajawiratun wajannatun min aAAnabin wazarAAun wanakheelun sinwanun waghayru sinwanin yusqa bimain wahidin wanufaddilu baAAdaha AAala baAAdin fee alokuli inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona
And in (on) the earth there are neighboring continents (sections of land) and gardens of vines and green crops and date-palms growing into two or three from a single stem root, or otherwise (one stem root for every palm), watered with the same water, and some of them We make more excellent than others to eat; most surely there are Signs in this for a people who understand.

13/Ar-Ra'd-5: Wain taAAjab faAAajabun qawluhum aitha kunna turaban ainna lafee khalqin jadeedin olaika allatheena kafaroo birabbihim waolaika alaghlalu fee aAAnaqihim waolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona
And if you would wonder, then wondrous is their saying: What! when we are dust, shall we then certainly be (raised) in a new creation? These are they who disbelieve in their Lord, and these have chains on their necks, and they are the inmates of the Fire; in it they shall abide (forever).

13/Ar-Ra'd-6: WayastaAAjiloonaka bialssayyiati qabla alhasanati waqad khalat min qablihimu almathulatu wainna rabbaka lathoo maghfiratin lilnnasi AAala thulmihim wainna rabbaka lashadeedu alAAiqabi
And they ask you to hasten on the evil before the good and indeed there have been (many) exemplary punishments before them and most surely your Lord is the Owner of forgiveness in spite of all their wrong-doing and most surely your Lord is (also) Severe in requiting (evil).

13/Ar-Ra'd-7: Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi innama anta munthirun walikulli qawmin hadin
And those who disbelieve say: Why has not a Sign been sent down upon him from his Lord? You are only a Warner and (there is) a guide for every people.

13/Ar-Ra'd-8: Allahu yaAAlamu ma tahmilu kullu ontha wama tagheedu alarhamu wama tazdadu wakullu shayin AAindahu bimiqdarin
Allah knows what every female bears and what the wombs decrease and increase and there is a measure with Him of everything.

13/Ar-Ra'd-9: AAalimu alghaybi waalshshahadati alkabeeru almutaAAali
All-Knower of the Unseen and the seen (visible), the Most Great, the Most High.

13/Ar-Ra'd-10: Sawaon minkum man asarra alqawla waman jahara bihi waman huwa mustakhfin biallayli wasaribun bialnnahari
It is the same (to Him) among you he who conceals (his) words and he who speaks them openly, and he who hides himself by night and (who) walks forth freely by day.

13/Ar-Ra'd-11: Lahu muAAaqqibatun min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi yahfathoonahu min amri Allahi inna Allaha la yughayyiru ma biqawmin hatta yughayyiroo ma bianfusihim waitha arada Allahu biqawmin sooan fala maradda lahu wama lahum min doonihi min walin
For him (for each person in the people) there are those who follow before him and behind him (that extend from the front side to the back) (the angels guarding the Imam of the Age). They guard him, being from the Command of Allah; Surely Allah does not alter what is in a people (He does not take away the spirit of the Imam of the Age from over their heads) unless they alter what is in their souls (their intention of remaining on Guidance). And when Allah wills evil to a people, there is no averting it, there is for them besides Him no protector.

13/Ar-Ra'd-12: Huwa allathee yureekumu albarqa khawfan watamaAAan wayunshio alssahaba alththiqala
He it is Who shows you the lightning causing fear and hope and raises up the clouds, heavy (with rain).

13/Ar-Ra'd-13: Wayusabbihu alrraAAdu bihamdihi waalmalaikatu min kheefatihi wayursilu alssawaAAiqa fayuseebu biha man yashao wahum yujadiloona fee Allahi wahuwa shadeedu almihali
The thunder glorifies Him with His praise, and the angels too for awe of Him. And He sends the thunderbolts and smites with them whom He wills, yet they dispute about Allah, and He is Mighty in Strength (Prowess) (the Irresistible One).

13/Ar-Ra'd-14: Lahu daAAwatu alhaqqi waallatheena yadAAoona min doonihi la yastajeeboona lahum bishayin illa kabasiti kaffayhi ila almai liyablugha fahu wama huwa bibalighihi wama duAAao alkafireena illa fee dalalin
To Him (to Allah Himself) is the Call of the Truth. And those upon whom they call besides Allah answer them no more than one who stretches forth his two hands towards water that it may reach his mouth, but it will not reach it; and the invocation of the disbelievers is only in error (Misguidance) [just like water cannot reach their mouths, so those who are in Misguidance cannot reach Guidance].

13/Ar-Ra'd-15: Walillahi yasjudu man fee alssamawati waalardi tawAAan wakarhan wathilaluhum bialghuduwwi waalasali
And whoever is in the heavens and the earth falls in prostration unto Allah, willingly and unwillingly, and their shadows too, in the mornings and in the evenings [The shadows of the physical bodies are the souls (Nafs) and the spirits (Ruh) When the physical body prostrates itself, the soul too prostrates itself. The spirit prostrates itself willingly with its good qualities (traits). The soul prostrates itself unwillingly because of its evil qualities (calamities). If the person has wished to reach Allah, when he attains to the soul’s purification, it is the spirit that is preponderant, then the soul also prostrates itself willingly.]

13/Ar-Ra'd-16: Qul man rabbu alssamawati waalardi quli Allahu qul afaittakhathtum min doonihi awliyaa la yamlikoona lianfusihim nafAAan wala darran qul hal yastawee alaAAma waalbaseeru am hal tastawee alththulumatu waalnnooru am jaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa khalaqoo kakhalqihi fatashabaha alkhalqu AAalayhim quli Allahu khaliqu kulli shayin wahuwa alwahidu alqahharu
Say: Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth? Say: Allah. Say: Have you then taken (for worship) protecting friends other than Him? They have no power either for benefit or for harm to themselves. Say: Are the blind and the seeing equal, or the darkness and the light? Or do they assign to Allah partners who created the like of His Creation, so that the creation (which they made and His Creation) seemed alike to them? Say: Allah is the Creator of all things; and He is the One, the Irresistible (the Subduer).

13/Ar-Ra'd-17: Anzala mina alssamai maan fasalat awdiyatun biqadariha faihtamala alssaylu zabadan rabiyan wamimma yooqidoona AAalayhi fee alnnari ibtighaa hilyatin aw mataAAin zabadun mithluhu kathalika yadribu Allahu alhaqqa waalbatila faamma alzzabadu fayathhabu jufaan waamma ma yanfaAAu alnnasa fayamkuthu fee alardi kathalika yadribu Allahu alamthala
He sends down water (rain) from the sky, and the valleys (watercourses) flow according to their measure, and the torrent bears along the swelling foam, and from what they melt in the fire for the sake of making ornaments or utensils (apparatus) arises a scum like it; thus does Allah give such similitudes for the truth and the falsehood; then as for the foam, it passes away as scum upon the banks; and as for that which profits the people, it remains in the earth (on earth); thus does Allah set forth the parables (the similitudes).

13/Ar-Ra'd-18: Lillatheena istajaboo lirabbihimu alhusna waallatheena lam yastajeeboo lahu law anna lahum ma fee alardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu laiftadaw bihi olaika lahum sooo alhisabi wamawahum jahannamu wabisa almihadu
For those who answer their Lord (’s Call) is the Best (Al-Husnâ) and as for those who do not answer Him (His Call), if they had all that is in the earth and the like thereof with it they would certainly offer it for a ransom. (As for) those, there is for them an evil reckoning and their abode is Hell, and evil is the resting-place.

13/Ar-Ra'd-19: Afaman yaAAlamu annama onzila ilayka min rabbika alhaqqu kaman huwa aAAma innama yatathakkaru oloo alalbabi
Is he then who knows that what has been sent to you from Lord is the truth like him who is blind? Only Ûli’l Elbâb (the owners of the divine secrets and the continuous remembrance) remember (deliberate), [they can converse with Allah about the matters, they can repeat the Name of Allah uninterruptedly].

13/Ar-Ra'd-20: Allatheena yoofoona biAAahdi Allahi wala yanqudoona almeethaqa
Those who fulfill the Pact of Allah (ahdillâh, they submit their spirits, their physical bodies, their souls and their free wills to Allah) and do not break the Covenant (Mîsâq, their covenants concernant the fact that they will submit to Allah their free wills together with their other submissions).

13/Ar-Ra'd-21: Waallatheena yasiloona ma amara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayakhshawna rabbahum wayakhafoona sooa alhisabi
And they cause to reach Him (Allah) what (the spirit) Allah commands that it should be made to reach Allah (before death) and have awe of their Lord and fear the evil reckoning.

13/Ar-Ra'd-22: Waallatheena sabaroo ibtighaa wajhi rabbihim waaqamoo alssalata waanfaqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan wayadraoona bialhasanati alssayyiata olaika lahum AAuqba alddari
And those who remain patient, seeking the Countenance of their Lord [to reach His Face (Essence, Zât), to sight His Essence], and keep up the prayer(s), and spend out of what We have given them as sustenance secretly and openly and overcome (repel) evil with good; as for those, there is for them the (good) end of the abode (of this world).

13/Ar-Ra'd-23: Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonaha waman salaha min abaihim waazwajihim wathurriyyatihim waalmalaikatu yadkhuloona AAalayhim min kulli babin
(there are) Gardens of Eden (the very Source of all Bliss) which they will enter along with those who had reached the Improvement from among their parents and their spouses and their offspring; and the angels will enter in upon them from every gate, (saying):

13/Ar-Ra'd-24: Salamun AAalaykum bima sabartum faniAAma AAuqba alddari
Peace be upon you because you remained patient. How excellent the Final Abode (the end of the worldly home).

13/Ar-Ra'd-25: Waallatheena yanqudoona AAahda Allahi min baAAdi meethaqihi wayaqtaAAoona ma amara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayufsidoona fee alardi olaika lahumu allaAAnatu walahum sooo alddari
And those who break the Pact of Allah (ahdallâh, those who do not submit their spirits, physical bodies, souls and free wills to Allah) after their Covenants (given to Allah in the Pre-eternity concerning the fact that they should submit their spirits, physical bodies, souls and free wills to Allah) and sever (cut asunder) that which (their spirits) Allah has ordered that they should be made to reach Him and make mischief in the earth. As for these, there is for them a Curse, and for them an evil abode (Hell).

13/Ar-Ra'd-26: Allahu yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru wafarihoo bialhayati alddunya wama alhayatu alddunya fee alakhirati illa mataAAun
Allah amplifies the means of subsistence for whom He wills and measures (straitens) (it); and they rejoice in the life of the world, whereas the life of this world is nothing compared with the Hereafter but a temporary enjoyment.

13/Ar-Ra'd-27: Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul inna Allaha yudillu man yashao wayahdee ilayhi man anaba
And those who disbelieve say: Why has a Sign not been sent down upon him from his Lord? Say: Surely Allah leaves in Misguidance whom He wills, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).

13/Ar-Ra'd-28: Allatheena amanoo watatmainnu quloobuhum bithikri Allahi ala bithikri Allahi tatmainnu alquloobu
Those who believed (became âmenû, wished to reach Allah before dying) and their hearts have been satisfied with the remembrance of Allah; now surely with the remembrance (with the repetition of the Name of Allah) are the hearts satisfied, are they not?

13/Ar-Ra'd-29: Allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati tooba lahum wahusnu maabin
Those who believed (became âmenû, those who wished to reach Allah before dying) and do improving deeds. Tûbâ (all kinds of happiness or a name of a tree in Paradise) is for them and a beautiful place of return (refuge).

13/Ar-Ra'd-30: Kathalika arsalnaka fee ommatin qad khalat min qabliha omamun litatluwa AAalayhimu allathee awhayna ilayka wahum yakfuroona bialrrahmani qul huwa rabbee la ilaha illa huwa AAalayhi tawakkaltu wailayhi matabi
And thus We have sent you among a nation (community) before which other nations have passed away in order that you might recite (read and explain) to them what We have revealed to you and (still) they disbelieve in (deny) the All-Merciful (Allah). Say: He is my Lord, there is no god but He; In Him I have put my trust and to Him is my return (as the one whose repentance has been accepted).

13/Ar-Ra'd-31: Walaw anna quranan suyyirat bihi aljibalu aw quttiAAat bihi alardu aw kullima bihi almawta bal lillahi alamru jameeAAan afalam yayasi allatheena amanoo an law yashao Allahu lahada alnnasa jameeAAan wala yazalu allatheena kafaroo tuseebuhum bima sanaAAoo qariAAatun aw tahullu qareeban min darihim hatta yatiya waAAdu Allahi inna Allaha la yukhlifu almeeAAada
And if there had been a Qur’ân with which the mountains could be moved (from their places) or the earth could be torn asunder, or the dead could be made to speak (it would not have been other than this Qur’ân). Nay, the Command is wholly Allah’s. Have not yet those who believe (who are âmenû) known (despaired of their becoming believers) that if Allah had willed, He would certainly have caused all the people to reach Guidance? And a repelling calamity will not cease to strike those who disbelieved because of their (evil) deeds or it settles close to their homes, until the Promise of Allah comes to pass. Certainly Allah does not fail in (His) Promise.

13/Ar-Ra'd-32: Walaqadi istuhzia birusulin min qablika faamlaytu lillatheena kafaroo thumma akhathtuhum fakayfa kana AAiqabi
And Messengers before you were certainly mocked at, but I gave respite to those who disbelieved, then I seized them, how then was My requital (of evil)?

13/Ar-Ra'd-33: Afaman huwa qaimun AAala kulli nafsin bima kasabat wajaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa qul sammoohum am tunabbioonahu bima la yaAAlamu fee alardi am bithahirin mina alqawli bal zuyyina lillatheena kafaroo makruhum wasuddoo AAani alssabeeli waman yudlili Allahu fama lahu min hadin
Is then He Who takes charge (maintains) of every soul as to what it has earned (like any other deities who know nothing)? And yet they give associates to Allah! Say: Name them! Are you informing Him of what He does not know in the earth or is it an outward saying? Rather, their plotting is made to appear fair-seeming to those who disbelieve, and they are kept away from the Way. And whomever Allah leaves in Misguidance, there is then for him no guide (mahdi, the one who makes men reach Allah).

13/Ar-Ra'd-34: Lahum AAathabun fee alhayati alddunya walaAAathabu alakhirati ashaqqu wama lahum mina Allahi min waqin
For them is a torment in the life of this world and certainly, harder is the torment of the Hereafter and there is for them no protector (or defender) from (the torment) against Allah.

13/Ar-Ra'd-35: Mathalu aljannati allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona tajree min tahtiha alanharu okuluha daimun wathilluha tilka AAuqba allatheena ittaqaw waAAuqba alkafireena alnnaru
A likeness of the Garden (Paradise) which the owners of piety (the pious, Al-Muttaqûn) are promised: the rivers flow beneath it; its food is perpetual, and its shadow (also). This is the end of those who have piety and the end of the disbelievers is the Fire.

13/Ar-Ra'd-36: Waallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yafrahoona bima onzila ilayka wamina alahzabi man yunkiru baAAdahu qul innama omirtu an aAAbuda Allaha wala oshrika bihi ilayhi adAAoo wailayhi maabi
Those to whom We have given the Book rejoice in what has been sent down to you and of the Confederates (factions) are some who deny a part of it. Say: I am only commanded that I should serve Allah and not associate anything with Him: To Him (Alone) I call and to Him is my return (refuge).

13/Ar-Ra'd-37: Wakathalika anzalnahu hukman AAarabiyyan walaini ittabaAAta ahwaahum baAAda ma jaaka mina alAAilmi ma laka mina Allahi min waliyyin wala waqin
And thus have We sent it down as a Judgement in Arabic, and if you follow their low desires after what has come to you of knowledge, there is for you no protecting friend or defender from Allah.

13/Ar-Ra'd-38: Walaqad arsalna rusulan min qablika wajaAAalna lahum azwajan wathurriyyatan wama kana lirasoolin an yatiya biayatin illa biithni Allahi likulli ajalin kitabun
And certainly We sent Messengers before you and made for them wives and offspring. It is not (possible) for a Messenger to bring a Sign except by Allah’s Leave. For every period is a Book.

13/Ar-Ra'd-39: Yamhoo Allahu ma yashao wayuthbitu waAAindahu ommu alkitabi
Allah blots out what He wills and confirms (makes fixed) [what He wills] and with Him is the Mother (the Basis) of the Book.

13/Ar-Ra'd-40: Wain ma nuriyannaka baAAda allathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka fainnama AAalayka albalaghu waAAalayna alhisabu
Whether We show you part of what We have promised them or cause you to die, your duty is only to convey (the Message) and on Us is the Reckoning.

13/Ar-Ra'd-41: Awalam yaraw anna natee alarda nanqusuha min atrafiha waAllahu yahkumu la muAAaqqiba lihukmihi wahuwa sareeAAu alhisabi
Do they not see how We come to the earth, we curtail (reduce) it of its sides (outlying borders)? And Allah judges, there is none to put back (repel) His Judgment, and he is Swift at reckoning.

13/Ar-Ra'd-42: Waqad makara allatheena min qablihim falillahi almakru jameeAAan yaAAlamu ma taksibu kullu nafsin wasayaAAlamu alkuffaru liman AAuqba alddari
And verily, those before them did devise plots, but all planning (plotting) is Allah’s. He knows what each soul earns, and the disbelievers shall soon know for whom is the Final Abode (the end of this abode).

13/Ar-Ra'd-43: Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lasta mursalan qul kafa biAllahi shaheedan baynee wabaynakum waman AAindahu AAilmu alkitabi
And those who disbelieve say: You have not been sent (as a Messenger). Say: Sufficient as a Witness between me and you is Allah and those too who have knowledge of the Book.
