24/An-Nur-1: Sooratun anzalnaha wafaradnaha waanzalna feeha ayatin bayyinatin laAAallakum tathakkaroona
(This is) a chapter (a Sûrah) which We have sent down and enjoined (made obligatory some verses of it) and in which We sent down Clear Signs, that perhaps you may remember (deliberate).
24/An-Nur-2: Alzzaniyatu waalzzanee faijlidoo kulla wahidin minhuma miata jaldatin wala takhuthkum bihima rafatun fee deeni Allahi in kuntum tuminoona biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri walyashhad AAathabahuma taifatun mina almumineena
The adulteress and the adulterer, flog each of them a hundred stripes (that affect only the skin) and let not pity for them detain you concerning (the application of) Allah’s Religion, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day, and let a party of the believers witness their torment (punishment).
24/An-Nur-3: Alzzanee la yankihu illa zaniyatan aw mushrikatan waalzzaniyatu la yankihuha illa zanin aw mushrikun wahurrima thalika AAala almumineena
The adulterer cannot marry other than an adulteress or an idolatress and as for the adulteress, none can marry her except an adulterer or an idolater. All that is forbidden to the believers.
24/An-Nur-4: Waallatheena yarmoona almuhsanati thumma lam yatoo biarbaAAati shuhadaa faijlidoohum thamaneena jaldatan wala taqbaloo lahum shahadatan abadan waolaika humu alfasiqoona
And for those who accuse (defame) chaste women, then do not bring four witnesses, flog them with eighty stripes (that do not affect the skin) and never accept their testimony (thereafter), and these it is that are the transgressors (who are not in the Way of Allah or have gone out of it).
24/An-Nur-5: Illa allatheena taboo min baAAdi thalika waaslahoo fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
Except those who repent after this and improve; (for such) verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
24/An-Nur-6: Waallatheena yarmoona azwajahum walam yakun lahum shuhadao illa anfusuhum fashahadatu ahadihim arbaAAu shahadatin biAllahi innahu lamina alssadiqeena
And those who accuse their wives (of adultery), and have no witnesses but themselves, then the testimony of each of them shall be a testimony sworn by Allah four times repeated, that he is indeed of the truthful ones (of those who speak the truth).
24/An-Nur-7: Waalkhamisatu anna laAAnata Allahi AAalayhi in kana mina alkathibeena
And the fifth (oath) is that Allah’s Curse be upon him if he is one of the liars.
24/An-Nur-8: AAanha alAAathaba an tashhada arbaAAa shahadatin biAllahi innahu lamina alkathibeena
And it shall avert the torment (punishment) from her if she bears witness four times by Allah, that he (her husband) is most surely one of the liars.
24/An-Nur-9: Waalkhamisata anna ghadaba Allahi AAalayha in kana mina alssadiqeena
And the fifth (oath) that the Wrath of Allah be upon her if he is one of the truthful (if he has spoken the truth).
24/An-Nur-10: Walawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu waanna Allaha tawwabun hakeemun
And if it had not been for the Grace [(the light of) Virtue] of Allah upon you and His Mercy (you would have undergone a punishment)! And that Allah is Oft-Forgiving (the One Who accepts repentance), the All-Wise (the Owner of Wisdom and Judgement).
24/An-Nur-11: Inna allatheena jaoo bialifki AAusbatun minkum la tahsaboohu sharran lakum bal huwa khayrun lakum likulli imriin minhum ma iktasaba mina alithmi waallathee tawalla kibrahu minhum lahu AAathabun AAatheemun
Surely those who brought forth the slander (against Âishah, may Allah be pleased with her) are a gang (a party) from among you. Do not regard it an evil for you; nay, it is good for you. For every man of them there is what he has earned of the sin; and as for him among them who had turned to (concocted and spread) to the greater part of it, for him there is a great torment (punishment).
24/An-Nur-12: Lawla ith samiAAtumoohu thanna almuminoona waalmuminatu bianfusihim khayran waqaloo hatha ifkun mubeenun
If only the believing men and the believing women, when you heard of it (of the slander), had thought good in their own minds, and said: This is a manifest slander.
24/An-Nur-13: Lawla jaoo AAalayhi biarbaAAati shuhadaa faith lam yatoo bialshshuhadai faolaika AAinda Allahi humu alkathiboona
If only they had brought four witnesses of it (to prove their charge). Since they failed to bring the witnesses, they verily are the liars with Allah (in the Sight of Allah).
24/An-Nur-14: Walawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu fee alddunya waalakhirati lamassakum fee ma afadtum feehi AAathabun AAatheemun
And had it not been for the Grace [(the light of) Virtue] of Allah unto you and His Mercy in this world and in the Hereafter, a great torment would have touched you because of that which you entered into (the slander, backbiting).
24/An-Nur-15: Ith talaqqawnahu bialsinatikum wataqooloona biafwahikum ma laysa lakum bihi AAilmun watahsaboonahu hayyinan wahuwa AAinda Allahi AAatheemun
You received it with your tongues (and passed it around) and uttered with your mouths that of which you had no knowledge, and you deemed it an easy matter (a trifle), while with Allah it was very great (crime).
24/An-Nur-16: Walawla ith samiAAtumoohu qultum ma yakoonu lana an natakallama bihatha subhanaka hatha buhtanun AAatheemun
Should you not have said, when you heard of it, it does not beseem us that we should talk of it; glory be to You! This is a great calumny?
24/An-Nur-17: YaAAithukumu Allahu an taAAoodoo limithlihi abadan in kuntum mumineena
Allah admonishes you that you should not return to the like of it ever again if you are believers.
24/An-Nur-18: Wayubayyinu Allahu lakumu alayati waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun
And Allah makes clear to you the Signs (Verses, Revelations…); and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise (the Owner of Wisdom and Judgement).
24/An-Nur-19: Inna allatheena yuhibboona an tasheeAAa alfahishatu fee allatheena amanoo lahum AAathabun aleemun fee alddunya waalakhirati waAllahu yaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona
As for those who love that indecency (adultery, shameful events, slander, evil…) should spread among those who believe, for them there is a painful torment in this world and the Hereafter; and Allah knows, while you do not know.
24/An-Nur-20: Walawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu waanna Allaha raoofun raheemun
And if it had not been for the Grace [(the light of) Virtue] of Allah on you and His Mercy (He would have punished you) and surely Allah is full of Kindness, Most Merciful.
24/An-Nur-21: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattabiAAoo khutuwati alshshaytani waman yattabiAA khutuwati alshshaytani fainnahu yamuru bialfahshai waalmunkari walawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu ma zaka minkum min ahadin abadan walakinna Allaha yuzakkee man yashao waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun
O you who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah before dying)! Do not follow the footsteps of the Shaitan (Satan); and whosoever follows the footsteps of Satan, then surely he commands Al-Fahshâ (indecency, all kinds of evil) and Al-Munkar (the denial and all that Allah has forbidden) and if it had not been for the Grace [(the light of) Virtue] unto you and His Mercy (if these had not be placed into the hearts of your souls), none of you could have ever purified (his soul’s heart), but Allah purifies whom He wills and Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.
24/An-Nur-22: Wala yatali oloo alfadli minkum waalssaAAati an yutoo olee alqurba waalmasakeena waalmuhajireena fee sabeeli Allahi walyaAAfoo walyasfahoo ala tuhibboona an yaghfira Allahu lakum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun
And let not those of you who possess Virtue and Abundance swear against giving to the near of kin and to the needy and to the emigrants in the Way of Allah; let them pardon and be indulgent. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.
24/An-Nur-23: Inna allatheena yarmoona almuhsanati alghafilati almuminati luAAinoo fee alddunya waalakhirati walahum AAathabun AAatheemun
Those who slander chaste women, ignorant even of sin, believers, are cursed in the world and the Hereafter, and for them there is a great torment.
24/An-Nur-24: Yawma tashhadu AAalayhim alsinatuhum waaydeehim waarjuluhum bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
On the Day when their tongues, their hands and their feet (their life films) will bear witness against them as to what they used to do.
24/An-Nur-25: Yawmaithin yuwaffeehimu Allahu deenahumu alhaqqa wayaAAlamoona anna Allaha huwa alhaqqu almubeenu
On that Day Allah will pay back to them in full their just reward (the equivalent of the negative and positive degrees that they have earned) and they shall know that Allah is the Manifest Truth (who expounds the truth, fulfils it).
24/An-Nur-26: Alkhabeethatu lilkhabeetheena waalkhabeethoona lilkhabeethati waalttayyibatu lilttayyibeena waalttayyiboona lilttayyibati olaika mubarraoona mimma yaqooloona lahum maghfiratun warizqun kareemun
Vile (unclean) women for the vile (unclean) men, and the vile (unclean) men for the vile (unclean) women. The good and clean women for the good and clean men. These are free from what they say; for them is Forgiveness (the changing of the evil deeds into rewards) and a generous (offered by Allah) sustenance.
24/An-Nur-27: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tadkhuloo buyootan ghayra buyootikum hatta tastanisoo watusallimoo AAala ahliha thalikum khayrun lakum laAAallakum tathakkaroona
O you who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah before dying)! Do not enter houses other than your own houses, until you ask for permission, and salute those in them; that is better for you, that you may deliberate (remember).
24/An-Nur-28: Fain lam tajidoo feeha ahadan fala tadkhulooha hatta yuthana lakum wain qeela lakumu irjiAAoo fairjiAAoo huwa azka lakum waAllahu bima taAAmaloona AAaleemun
And if you do not find any one therein, then do not enter them until permission is given to you; And if you are asked to go back, then go back; this is purer for you; and Allah is the All-Knower of what you do.
24/An-Nur-29: Laysa AAalaykum junahun an tadkhuloo buyootan ghayra maskoonatin feeha mataAAun lakum waAllahu yaAAlamu ma tubdoona wama taktumoona
There is no sin on you that you enter (without taking permission) uninhabited houses wherein is supply for your needs; and Allah knows what you do openly and what you hide.
24/An-Nur-30: Qul lilmumineena yaghuddoo min absarihum wayahfathoo furoojahum thalika azka lahum inna Allaha khabeerun bima yasnaAAoona
Say to the believing men that they cast down their looks (they keep away from unlawfulness) and guard their chastity (their private parts from illegal sexual acts); that is purer for them; surely Allah All-Aware of what they do.
24/An-Nur-31: Waqul lilmuminati yaghdudna min absarihinna wayahfathna furoojahunna wala yubdeena zeenatahunna illa ma thahara minha walyadribna bikhumurihinna AAala juyoobihinna wala yubdeena zeenatahunna illa libuAAoolatihinna aw abaihinna aw abai buAAoolatihinna aw abnaihinna aw abnai buAAoolatihinna aw ikhwanihinna aw banee ikhwanihinna aw banee akhawatihinna aw nisaihinna aw ma malakat aymanuhunna awi alttabiAAeena ghayri olee alirbati mina alrrijali awi alttifli allatheena lam yathharoo AAala AAawrati alnnisai wala yadribna biarjulihinna liyuAAlama ma yukhfeena min zeenatihinna watooboo ila Allahi jameeAAan ayyuha almuminoona laAAallakum tuflihoona
And say to the believing women that they cast down their looks (they keep away from unlawfulness) and guard their chastity (their private part from illegal sexual acts) and do not display their ornaments except what appears of them, and let them wear their head-coverings over their bosoms, and not display their ornaments except to their husbands or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess (female slaves), or the male servants not having need (of women), or the children who have not attained knowledge of what is hidden of women (the children who have no sense of feminine sex); and let them not strike their feet so that what they hide of their ornaments may be known; and turn to Allah all of you, O believers! So that you may be successful (…you may attain to the Salvation).
24/An-Nur-32: Waankihoo alayama minkum waalssaliheena min AAibadikum waimaikum in yakoonoo fuqaraa yughnihimu Allahu min fadlihi waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun
And marry those among you who are single (unmarried) and the improved ones of your male slaves and your female slaves; if they are poor, Allah will enrich them out of His Bounty. And Allah is All-Embracing (His Bestowal, His Blessing are abundant), All-Knowing.
24/An-Nur-33: WalyastaAAfifi allatheena la yajidoona nikahan hatta yughniyahumu Allahu min fadlihi waallatheena yabtaghoona alkitaba mimma malakat aymanukum fakatiboohum in AAalimtum feehim khayran waatoohum min mali Allahi allathee atakum wala tukrihoo fatayatikum AAala albighai in aradna tahassunan litabtaghoo AAarada alhayati alddunya waman yukrihhunna fainna Allaha min baAAdi ikrahihinna ghafoorun raheemun
And let those who do not find the means to marry keep themselves chaste, until Allah enriches them of His Bounty. And (as for) those who ask for a writing (of emancipation) from among those whom your right hands possess (your male and female slaves) give them the writing (of emancipation) if you know any good in them, and give them of the wealth of Allah which He has given you; and do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, when they desire to keep chaste, in order to seek the frail good of this world’s life; and whoever compels them, then surely after their compulsion, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
24/An-Nur-34: Walaqad anzalna ilaykum ayatin mubayyinatin wamathalan mina allatheena khalaw min qablikum wamawAAithatan lilmuttaqeena
And certainly We have sent down to you clear Verses (Signs) and an example of those who have passed away before you, and an admonition to those who have piety.
24/An-Nur-35: Allahu nooru alssamawati waalardi mathalu noorihi kamishkatin feeha misbahun almisbahu fee zujajatin alzzujajatu kaannaha kawkabun durriyyun yooqadu min shajaratin mubarakatin zaytoonatin la sharqiyyatin wala gharbiyyatin yakadu zaytuha yudeeo walaw lam tamsashu narun noorun AAala noorin yahdee Allahu linoorihi man yashao wayadribu Allahu alamthala lilnnasi waAllahu bikulli shayin AAaleemun
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His Light is as a niche (a source that gives off light) in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass (and) the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof almost gives light, even if no fire touched it. (It is) light upon light. Allah guides to His Light whom He wills and Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of everything. (There is Allah’s Light)
24/An-Nur-36: Fee buyootin athina Allahu an turfaAAa wayuthkara feeha ismuhu yusabbihu lahu feeha bialghuduwwi waalasali
In houses which Allah has permitted to be exalted and that His Name may be remembered (repeated) in them; there glorify Him therein in the mornings and the evenings,
24/An-Nur-37: Rijalun la tulheehim tijaratun wala bayAAun AAan thikri Allahi waiqami alssalati waeetai alzzakati yakhafoona yawman tataqallabu feehi alquloobu waalabsaru
Men whom neither merchandise nor selling diverts from the Remembrance (Dhikr) of Allah, and the keeping up of the Prayer and the giving of the poor-rate; they fear a Day when the hearts and eyes will be overturned.
24/An-Nur-38: Liyajziyahumu Allahu ahsana ma AAamiloo wayazeedahum min fadlihi waAllahu yarzuqu man yashao bighayri hisabin
That Allah may recompense them for the best of what they did, and increase reward for them of His Bounty [Grace, (the light of) Virtue]; and Allah gives sustenance to whom He wills without measure.
24/An-Nur-39: Waallatheena kafaroo aAAmaluhum kasarabin biqeeAAatin yahsabuhu alththamanu maan hatta itha jaahu lam yajidhu shayan wawajada Allaha AAindahu fawaffahu hisabahu waAllahu sareeAAu alhisabi
And (as for) those who disbelieve, their deeds are like a mirage in a desert. The thirsty one deems it to be water; until, when he comes up to it, he finds it to be nothing; and there he finds Allah, so He pays back to him his reckoning in full; and Allah is Swift at reckoning.
24/An-Nur-40: Aw kathulumatin fee bahrin lujjiyyin yaghshahu mawjun min fawqihi mawjun min fawqihi sahabun thulumatun baAAduha fawqa baAAdin itha akhraja yadahu lam yakad yaraha waman lam yajAAali Allahu lahu nooran fama lahu min noorin
Or (the state of a disbeliever) like utter darkness in a vast deep sea, overwhelmed with waves topped by waves, topped by dark clouds, (layers of) darkness upon darkness; if a man stretches out his hand, he can hardly see it! And he for whom Allah has not appointed light, for him there is no light.
24/An-Nur-41: Alam tara anna Allaha yusabbihu lahu man fee alssamawati waalardi waalttayru saffatin kullun qad AAalima salatahu watasbeehahu waAllahu AAaleemun bima yafAAaloona
Do you not see that Allah is He Whom do glorify all those who are in the heavens and the earth, and the birds with wings outspread (in their flight)? He knows the prayer of each one and its glorification, and Allah is All-Knower of what they do.
24/An-Nur-42: Walillahi mulku alssamawati waalardi waila Allahi almaseeru
And Allah’s is the Sovereignty (Kingdom) of the heavens and the earth and to Allah is the journeying’s end (the final return, the destination).
24/An-Nur-43: Alam tara anna Allaha yuzjee sahaban thumma yuallifu baynahu thumma yajAAaluhu rukaman fatara alwadqa yakhruju min khilalihi wayunazzilu mina alssamai min jibalin feeha min baradin fayuseebu bihi man yashao wayasrifuhu AAan man yashao yakadu sana barqihi yathhabu bialabsari
Do you not see that Allah drives clouds gently, then joins them together, then makes them into a heap of layers, and you see the rain comes forth from their midst? And He sends down from the sky hail (like) mountains (there are in the sky mountains of hail from where He sends down hail), and strikes therewith whom He wills, and averts it from whom He wills. The vivid flash of its lightning almost takes away (blinds) the sight.
24/An-Nur-44: Yuqallibu Allahu allayla waalnnahara inna fee thalika laAAibratan liolee alabsari
Allah alternates the night and the day; most surely there is a lesson in this for those who have insight.
24/An-Nur-45: WaAllahu khalaqa kulla dabbatin min main faminhum man yamshee AAala batnihi waminhum man yamshee AAala rijlayni waminhum man yamshee AAala arbaAAin yakhluqu Allahu ma yashao inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
And Allah has created every moving (living) creature from water. So of them is that which walks (creeps) upon its belly, of them is that which walks upon its two feet and of them is that which walks upon four; Allah creates what He wills; surely Allah has Power over all things.
24/An-Nur-46: Laqad anzalna ayatin mubayyinatin waAllahu yahdee man yashao ila siratin mustaqeemin
Certainly We have sent down manifest Verses (Signs…) and Allah guides whom He wills to the Straight Path (leading to Allah).
24/An-Nur-47: Wayaqooloona amanna biAllahi wabialrrasooli waataAAna thumma yatawalla fareequn minhum min baAAdi thalika wama olaika bialmumineena
And they say: We have believed in Allah and in the Messenger, and We obey; then a party of them turn back after this; and these are not believers.
24/An-Nur-48: Waitha duAAoo ila Allahi warasoolihi liyahkuma baynahum itha fareequn minhum muAAridoona
And when they are called to Allah and His Messenger that he may judge between them, behold! a party of them turn aside (away).
24/An-Nur-49: Wain yakun lahumu alhaqqu yatoo ilayhi muthAAineena
And if the truth is on their side (if they are the owners of the truth), they come to him quickly, obedient.
24/An-Nur-50: Afee quloobihim maradun ami irtaboo am yakhafoona an yaheefa Allahu AAalayhim warasooluhu bal olaika humu alththalimoona
Is there in their hearts a disease, or are they in doubt, or do they fear that Allah and His Messenger should take sides against them (…will deal unfairly with them?) Nay! they themselves are the wrong-doers (the unjust).
24/An-Nur-51: Innama kana qawla almumineena itha duAAoo ila Allahi warasoolihi liyahkuma baynahum an yaqooloo samiAAna waataAAna waolaika humu almuflihoona
The word of the believers, when they are called (invited) to Allah and His Messenger that he may judge between them, is only to say: We have heard and we obeyed. And these it is that are successful (and these it is who have attained to the Salvation).
24/An-Nur-52: Waman yutiAAi Allaha warasoolahu wayakhsha Allaha wayattaqhi faolaika humu alfaizoona
And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, and feels awe towards Allah and has piety towards Him, these it is that are the achievers (the victorious).
24/An-Nur-53: Waaqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihim lain amartahum layakhrujunna qul la tuqsimoo taAAatun maAAroofatun inna Allaha khabeerun bima taAAmaloona
And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths, that if you command them they would certainly go forth (for fighting in the Way of Allah). Say: Do not swear! (This is) a known (appreciated) obedience; surely Allah is Well-Aware of what you do.
24/An-Nur-54: Qul ateeAAoo Allaha waateeAAoo alrrasoola fain tawallaw fainnama AAalayhi ma hummila waAAalaykum ma hummiltum wain tuteeAAoohu tahtadoo wama AAala alrrasooli illa albalaghu almubeena
Say: Obey Allah and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away, then only the burden of his duty is on him, and the burden of your duty is on you. If you obey him, you reach the Guidance; and nothing rests on the Messenger but clear delivering (of the Message).
24/An-Nur-55: WaAAada Allahu allatheena amanoo minkum waAAamiloo alssalihati layastakhlifannahum fee alardi kama istakhlafa allatheena min qablihim walayumakkinanna lahum deenahumu allathee irtada lahum walayubaddilannahum min baAAdi khawfihim amnan yaAAbudoonanee la yushrikoona bee shayan waman kafara baAAda thalika faolaika humu alfasiqoona
Allah has promised to those of you who believe (who are âmenû, i.e. who wish to reach Allah before dying) and do improving deeds ( that purify the souls’ hearts) that He will most certainly make them vice-gerents (successors, caliphs) in the earth as He made vice-gerents (successors) those before them, and that He will most certainly establish (strengthen) for them their Religion with which He has been pleased, and that He will most certainly, after their fear, give them security in exchange; they serve (become servants to) Me, they do not associate anything with Me; and whoever disbelieves (is ungrateful) after this, these it is who are the Fâsiqûn (those who are not in the Way of Allah or have gone out of it, transgressors, disobedient to Allah…).
24/An-Nur-56: Waaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata waateeAAoo alrrasoola laAAallakum turhamoona
And keep up the Prayer and pay the poor-rate (Az-Zâkât) and obey the Messenger, that perhaps you may receive mercy (from Allah).
24/An-Nur-57: La tahsabanna allatheena kafaroo muAAjizeena fee alardi wamawahumu alnnaru walabisa almaseeru
Do not reckon (think) that the disbelievers can make (Allah) incapable in the earth, and their abode is the Fire; and certainly evil is the journey’s end (that destination).
24/An-Nur-58: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo liyastathinkumu allatheena malakat aymanukum waallatheena lam yablughoo alhuluma minkum thalatha marratin min qabli salati alfajri waheena tadaAAoona thiyabakum mina alththaheerati wamin baAAdi salati alAAishai thalathu AAawratin lakum laysa AAalaykum wala AAalayhim junahun baAAdahunna tawwafoona AAalaykum baAAdukum AAala baAAdin kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakumu alayati waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun
O you who believe (who are âmenû)! Let those whom your right hands possess (your male and female slaves) and those of you who have not attained to puberty ask permission of you three times; before the prayer of dawn, and when you put off your clothes at midday (in summer), and after the prayer of the nightfall; these are three times of privacy for you; neither is it a sin for you nor for them besides these, to move about, attending to each other. Thus does Allah make clear to you the Verses (Signs). And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
24/An-Nur-59: Waitha balagha alatfalu minkumu alhuluma falyastathinoo kama istathana allatheena min qablihim kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakum ayatihi waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun
And when the children among you have attained to puberty, let them ask permission as those before them asked permission; thus does Allah make clear to you His Verses (Signs), and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
24/An-Nur-60: WaalqawaAAidu mina alnnisai allatee la yarjoona nikahan falaysa AAalayhinna junahun an yadaAAna thiyabahunna ghayra mutabarrijatin bizeenatin waan yastaAAfifna khayrun lahunna waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun
And (as for) women who are past childbearing and have no hope of marriage, it is no blame (sin) for them if they put off their (outer) clothes without displaying their ornaments; to wish to remain chaste [to refrain (from that)] is better for them. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.
24/An-Nur-61: Laysa AAala alaAAma harajun wala AAala alaAAraji harajun wala AAala almareedi harajun wala AAala anfusikum an takuloo min buyootikum aw buyooti abaikum aw buyooti ommahatikum aw buyooti ikhwanikum aw buyooti akhawatikum aw buyooti aAAmamikum aw buyooti AAammatikum aw buyooti akhwalikum aw buyooti khalatikum aw ma malaktum mafatihahu aw sadeeqikum laysa AAalaykum junahun an takuloo jameeAAan aw ashtatan faitha dakhaltum buyootan fasallimoo AAala anfusikum tahiyyatan min AAindi Allahi mubarakatan tayyibatan kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakumu alayati laAAallakum taAAqiloona
There is no blame on the blind, nor is there blame on the lame, nor is there blame on the sick, nor on yourselves that you eat from your houses, or your fathers’ houses or your mothers’ houses, or your brothers’ houses, or your sisters’ houses, or your paternal uncles’ houses, or your paternal aunts’ houses, or your maternal uncles’ houses, or your maternal aunts’ houses, or what you possess the keys of, or your friends’ (houses). It is no sin in you that you eat together or separately. So when you enter houses, salute one another with a greeting from Allah, blessed and goodly; thus does Allah make clear to you the Verses (Signs…) that you may use your mind.
24/An-Nur-62: Innama almuminoona allatheena amanoo biAllahi warasoolihi waitha kanoo maAAahu AAala amrin jamiAAin lam yathhaboo hatta yastathinoohu inna allatheena yastathinoonaka olaika allatheena yuminoona biAllahi warasoolihi faitha istathanooka libaAAdi shanihim fathan liman shita minhum waistaghfir lahumu Allaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
Only those are the (true) believers who believe in Allah and His Messenger, and when they are with him on a momentous (common) affair, they go not away until they have asked his permission; surely they who ask your permission are they who believe in Allah and His Messenger; so when they ask your permission for some affair of theirs, give permission to whom you will of them and ask forgiveness for them from Allah; surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
24/An-Nur-63: La tajAAaloo duAAaa alrrasooli baynakum kaduAAai baAAdikum baAAdan qad yaAAlamu Allahu allatheena yatasallaloona minkum liwathan falyahthari allatheena yukhalifoona AAan amrihi an tuseebahum fitnatun aw yuseebahum AAathabun aleemun
Do not hold (make) the Messenger’s calling among you to be like your calling one to the other; Allah indeed knows those who steal away from among you, concealing themselves; therefore let those who go against his order beware lest a trial (Fitnah) should befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them.
24/An-Nur-64: Ala inna lillahi ma fee alssamawati waalardi qad yaAAlamu ma antum AAalayhi wayawma yurjaAAoona ilayhi fayunabbiohum bima AAamiloo waAllahu bikulli shayin AAaleemun
Now surely Allah’s is whatever is in the heavens and the earth, are they not? He knew indeed that on which you were (what was in your hearts); and on the Day on which they are returned to Him, He will inform them of what they did; and Allah is All-Knower of everything.
