Sura List » An-Naml

27/An-Naml-1: Taseen tilka ayatu alqurani wakitabin mubeenin
Tâ-Sîn. [These disjointed letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’ân, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings] These are the Verses of the Qur’ân and a manifest Book [a Book that makes (things) clear].

27/An-Naml-2: Hudan wabushra lilmumineena
A Guidance [what makes (men) reach Guidance] and glad tidings for the believers.

27/An-Naml-3: Allatheena yuqeemoona alssalata wayutoona alzzakata wahum bialakhirati hum yooqinoona
Who keep up the Prayer (As-Salât) and pay the poor-rate (Az-Zakât) and they are certain of the Hereafter (they believe in the Hereafter with certainty).

27/An-Naml-4: Inna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati zayyanna lahum aAAmalahum fahum yaAAmahoona
As to those who do not believe in the hereafter (in the spirit’s reaching Allah while one is living), We have surely made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so that they blindly wander on.

27/An-Naml-5: Olaika allatheena lahum sooo alAAathabi wahum fee alakhirati humu alakhsaroona
They are those for whom there will be an evil torment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers (they will be those who will undergo the greatest Loss).

27/An-Naml-6: Wainnaka latulaqqa alqurana min ladun hakeemin AAaleemin
And most surely you are made to reach the Qur’ân from (the Secret Knowledge of) One, All-Wise, All-Knowing.

27/An-Naml-7: Ith qala moosa liahlihi innee anastu naran saateekum minha bikhabarin aw ateekum bishihabin qabasin laAAallakum tastaloona
When Moses said to his family: Surely I have perceived a fire; I will bring to you from there some news, or I will bring to you a buring firebrand so that you may warm yourselves.

27/An-Naml-8: Falamma jaaha noodiya an boorika man fee alnnari waman hawlaha wasubhana Allahi rabbi alAAalameena
So when he came to it, he was called: Blessed is Whoever is in the fire and whoever is round about it! And Glory be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!

27/An-Naml-9: Ya moosa innahu ana Allahu alAAazeezu alhakeemu
O Moses! Surely He, I am Allah, the All-Mighty, All-Wise (the Owner of Wisdom), Judgement).

27/An-Naml-10: Waalqi AAasaka falamma raaha tahtazzu kaannaha jannun walla mudbiran walam yuAAaqqib ya moosa la takhaf innee la yakhafu ladayya almursaloona
And cast down your staff! So when he saw it in motion as if it were a serpent, he turned retreating and did not look back; (It was said): O Moses! Fear not; surely the Messengers do not fear in My Presence.

27/An-Naml-11: Illa man thalama thumma baddala husnan baAAda sooin fainnee ghafoorun raheemun
Except him who has done wrong and afterwards has changed evil for good; then surely, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

27/An-Naml-12: Waadkhil yadaka fee jaybika takhruj baydaa min ghayri sooin fee tisAAi ayatin ila firAAawna waqawmihi innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena
And put your hand into your bosom, it will come forth with without hurt. (These are) among the nine Signs (miracles) (you will take) to Pharaoh and his people, surely they have become a transgressing people (Fâsiqûn=who are not in the Way of Allah or have gone out of it).

27/An-Naml-13: Falamma jaathum ayatuna mubsiratan qaloo hatha sihrun mubeenun
When Our Verses (Signs, miracles) came to them, clear to see, they said: This is a manifest magic.

27/An-Naml-14: Wajahadoo biha waistayqanatha anfusuhum thulman waAAuluwwan faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena
And they denied (belied) them wrongfully and arrogantly, though their souls had been convinced of them (though their souls had believed in them with certainty); consider, then, how was the end of the mischief-makers.

27/An-Naml-15: Walaqad atayna dawooda wasulaymana AAilman waqala alhamdu lillahi allathee faddalana AAala katheerin min AAibadihi almumineena
And certainly We gave knowledge to David and Solomon, and they both said: All Praises be to Allah, Who has made us to excel many of His believing servants.

27/An-Naml-16: Wawaritha sulaymanu dawooda waqala ya ayyuha alnnasu AAullimna mantiqa alttayri waooteena min kulli shayin inna hatha lahuwa alfadlu almubeenu
And Solomon inherited David, and he said: O men! We have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given of all things; most surely this is an evident Grace.

27/An-Naml-17: Wahushira lisulaymana junooduhu mina aljinni waalinsi waalttayri fahum yoozaAAoona
And his hosts (armies) of the jinn and the men and the birds were gathered to him, and they were formed into groups.

27/An-Naml-18: Hatta itha ataw AAala wadi alnnamli qalat namlatun ya ayyuha alnnamlu odkhuloo masakinakum la yahtimannakum sulaymanu wajunooduhu wahum la yashAAuroona
Until, when they came to the valley of the Ants, a female ant said: O ants! Enter your dwellings lest Solomon and his hosts (armies) may not crush you, unperceiving.

27/An-Naml-19: Fatabassama dahikan min qawliha waqala rabbi awziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAala walidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahu waadkhilnee birahmatika fee AAibadika alssaliheena
So he (Solomon) smiled, amused (laughing) at her speech and said: Make me successful in being grateful for Your Blessings which You have bestowed on me and on my parents and in doing improving deeds (in doing the soul’s purification) that will please You, and make me enter, by Your Mercy, into Your Improved servants.

27/An-Naml-20: Watafaqqada alttayra faqala ma liya la ara alhudhuda am kana mina alghaibeena
And he reviewed (inspected) the birds, then said: How is it that I do not see the hoopoe or is it that he is of the absentees?

27/An-Naml-21: LaoAAaththibannahu AAathaban shadeedan aw laathbahannahu aw layatiyannee bisultanin mubeenin
I will most certainly torment (punish) him with a severe torment, or slaughter him, unless he brings me a plain excuse (reason, proof).

27/An-Naml-22: Famakatha ghayra baAAeedin faqala ahattu bima lam tuhit bihi wajituka min sabain binabain yaqeenin
And he (the hoopoe) did not stay (absent) long, he (came up and) said: I have grasped (comprehended) (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped (comprehended) and I have come to you from Sheba (Saba’) with sure tidings.

27/An-Naml-23: Innee wajadtu imraatan tamlikuhum waootiyat min kulli shayin walaha AAarshun AAatheemun
Surely I found a woman ruling over them and she has been given (abundance) of all things and she has a mighty throne.

27/An-Naml-24: Wajadtuha waqawmaha yasjudoona lilshshamsi min dooni Allahi wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli fahum la yahtadoona
I found her and her people prostrating themselves before the sun instead of Allah and Satan has made their deeds fair-seeming to them and thus turned them away from the Way (of Allah), so they are not on t Guidance.

27/An-Naml-25: Alla yasjudoo lillahi allathee yukhriju alkhabaa fee alssamawati waalardi wayaAAlamu ma tukhfoona wama tuAAlinoona
So that they do not prostrate themselves before Allah, who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you conceal and what you make manifest.

27/An-Naml-26: Allahu la ilaha illa huwa rabbu alAAarshi alAAatheemi
Allah, there is no god but He: he is the Lord of the Supreme Throne!

27/An-Naml-27: Qala sananthuru asadaqta am kunta mina alkathibeena
He (Solomon) said: We will see whether you have told the truth or whether you are of the liars.

27/An-Naml-28: Ithhab bikitabee hatha faalqih ilayhim thumma tawalla AAanhum faonthur matha yarjiAAoona
Take this my letter and hand it over to them (throw it down onto them), then turn away from them and see what (answer) they return.

27/An-Naml-29: Qalat ya ayyuha almalao innee olqiya ilayya kitabun kareemun
(The Queen of Shaba): O chieftains! Surely an honorable (noble) letter has been thrown (delivered) to me;

27/An-Naml-30: Innahu min sulaymana wainnahu bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
Surely it is from Solomon, and surely it is: In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Most Merciful;

27/An-Naml-31: Alla taAAloo AAalayya watoonee muslimeena
(Saying): Exalt not yourselves against me and come to me in submission (to me ).

27/An-Naml-32: Qalat ya ayyuha almalao aftoonee fee amree ma kuntu qatiAAatan amran hatta tashhadoona
She said: O chiefs! give me advice respecting my affair: I never decide an affair until you are in my presence (unless you bear witness, you are in my presence and express your opinion).

27/An-Naml-33: Qaloo nahnu oloo quwwatin waoloo basin shadeedin waalamru ilayki faonthuree matha tamureena
They said: We are possessors of might and possessors of great Prower (great ability for war) but it is for you to command, so see what you will command.

27/An-Naml-34: Qalat inna almulooka itha dakhaloo qaryatan afsadooha wajaAAaloo aAAizzata ahliha athillatan wakathalika yafAAaloona
She said: Surely the kings, when they enter a town (a country), ruin (overthrow) it, and thus they (always) do;

27/An-Naml-35: Wainnee mursilatun ilayhim bihadiyyatin fanathiratun bima yarjiAAu almursaloona
And surely I am going to send a present to them, and shall wait to see what (answer) do the messengers bring back.

27/An-Naml-36: Falamma jaa sulaymana qala atumiddoonani bimalin fama ataniya Allahu khayrun mimma atakum bal antum bihadiyyatikum tafrahoona
So when (the envoys with the present) came to Solomon, he said: what! Will you help me with wealth? But what Allah has given me is better than what He has given you. Nay, you are exultant (you show off, you boast) because of your present.

27/An-Naml-37: IrjiAA ilayhim falanatiyannahum bijunoodin la qibala lahum biha walanukhrijannahum minha athillatan wahum saghiroona
(Solomon said: Go back to them, so we will most surely come to them with hosts which they shall no power to oppose, and we will most certainly expel them therefrom in abasement, and they will be abased.

27/An-Naml-38: Qala ya ayyuha almalao ayyukum yateenee biAAarshiha qabla an yatoonee muslimeena
He (Solomon) said: O chiefs! Which of you can bring to me her throne before they come to me in submission (surrendering)?

27/An-Naml-39: Qala AAifreetun mina aljinni ana ateeka bihi qabla an taqooma min maqamika wainne AAalayhi laqawiyyun ameenun
A ‘Ifrît (A stalwart) of the jinn said: I will bring it to you before you rise up from your place. I verily am strong and trusty for it (for realizing it).

27/An-Naml-40: Qala allathee AAindahu AAilmun mina alkitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla an yartadda ilayka tarfuka falamma raahu mustaqirran AAindahu qala hatha min fadli rabbee liyabluwanee aashkuru am akfuru waman shakara fainnama yashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fainna rabbee ghaniyyun kareemun
One (Khidr) with whom was knowledge of the Book said: I will bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye (before your gaze returns to you ).Then when he (Solomon) saw it set in his presence, he said: This is of the Bounty of my Lord that he may try (test) me whether I am grateful or ungrateful; and whoever is grateful, he is grateful only for his own soul, and whoever is ungrateful, then surely my Lord is Self-Sufficient (Rich, Free of all needs), Honored (Most Generous).

27/An-Naml-41: Qala nakkiroo laha AAarshaha nanthur atahtadee am takoonu mina allatheena la yahtadoona
He (Solomon) said: Alter (disguise) her throne for her that we may see whether she will be guided (she will attain to Guidance) or whether she will be of those who are not guided (who have not attained to Guidance).

27/An-Naml-42: Falamma jaat qeela ahakatha AAarshuki qalat kaannahu huwa waooteena alAAilma min qabliha wakunna muslimeena
So when she came, it was said (to her): Is your throne like this? She said: It is as it were the very same, and (Solomon said) we were given the knowledge before it and we were submitted (to Allah).

27/An-Naml-43: Wasaddaha ma kanat taAAbudu min dooni Allahi innaha kanat min qawmin kafireena
And what she worshipped besides Allah prevented her (from Islam), surely she was of a disbelieving people.

27/An-Naml-44: Qeela laha odkhulee alssarha falamma raathu hasibathu lujjatan wakashafat AAan saqayha qala innahu sarhun mumarradun min qawareera qalat rabbi innee thalamtu nafsee waaslamtu maAAa sulaymana lillahi rabbi alAAalameena
It was said to her: Enter As –Sarh (a glass surface with water underneath it or a palace); but when she saw it, she deemed it to be a great expanse of water, and bared her legs (tucked up her clothes). (Solomon said): It is a hall, made smooth, of brilliant cut glass. She said: My Lord! Verily I have wronged myself (my soul) and I surrender with Solomon to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

27/An-Naml-45: Walaqad arsalna ila thamooda akhahum salihan ani oAAbudoo Allaha faitha hum fareeqani yakhtasimoona
And certainly We sent to Thamud their brother Salih, (saying): Serve (become servants to) Allah; and behold! They become two sects (parties) quarreling with each other.

27/An-Naml-46: Qala ya qawmi lima tastaAAjiloona bialssayyiati qabla alhasanati lawla tastaghfiroona Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona
He said: O my people! Why do you seek to hasten on the evil before the good? Should you not have asked forgiveness of Allah so that you may receive mercy?

27/An-Naml-47: Qaloo ittayyarna bika wabiman maAAaka qala tairukum AAinda Allahi bal antum qawmun tuftanoona
They said: We augur ill omen from you and those with you. He said: Your ill omen is with Allah; nay, but you are a people that are being tested (tried).

27/An-Naml-48: Wakana fee almadeenati tisAAatu rahtin yufsidoona fee alardi wala yuslihoona
And there were in the city nine men, who made mischief in the land, and did not reform (improve).

27/An-Naml-49: Qaloo taqasamoo biAllahi lanubayyitannahu waahlahu thumma lanaqoolanna liwaliyyihi ma shahidna mahlika ahlihi wainna lasadiqoona
They said by swearing to each other by Allah: We will certainly make a sudden attack on him and his household by night, then we will say to his protecting friend(s): We did not witness the destruction of his household, and we are most surely truthfull (truth tellers).

27/An-Naml-50: Wamakaroo makran wamakarna makran wahum la yashAAuroona
So they plotted a plot, and we planned a plan while they did not perceive.

27/An-Naml-51: Faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu makrihim anna dammarnahum waqawmahum ajmaAAeena
See, then, how was the end of their plot that We destroyed them and their people, all (of them).

27/An-Naml-52: Fatilka buyootuhum khawiyatan bima thalamoo inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yaAAlamoona
Those are their dwellings fallen down because they did wrong! Most surely there is a Sign (lesson) in this for a people who know.

27/An-Naml-53: Waanjayna allatheena amanoo wakanoo yattaqoona
And We delivered those who believed (who became âmenû, who wished to reach Allah before dying) and (for this reason) were the owners of piety.

27/An-Naml-54: Walootan ith qala liqawmihi atatoona alfahishata waantum tubsiroona
And (We sent) Lot, when he said to his people: What! Do you come to indecency while you see (its enormity)?

27/An-Naml-55: Ainnakum latatoona alrrijala shahwatan min dooni alnnisai bal antum qawmun tajhaloona
What! Do you indeed come to the men lustfully rather than the women? Nay, you are a people who are ignorant (behave senselessly).

27/An-Naml-56: Fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo akhrijoo ala lootin min qaryatikum innahum onasun yatatahharoona
But the answer of his people was no other except that they say: Expel the household of Lot from your town; surely they are a people who would keep pure and clean.

27/An-Naml-57: Faanjaynahu waahlahu illa imraatahu qaddarnaha mina alghabireena
Then We rescued him and his household (his followers) except his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind.

27/An-Naml-58: Waamtarna AAalayhim mataran fasaa mataru almunthareena
And We rained on them a rain (of stones of fire), and evil was the rain of those who had been warned.

27/An-Naml-59: Quli alhamdu lillahi wasalamun AAala AAibadihi allatheena istafa allahu khayrun amma yushrikoona
Say: All Praises be to Allah and peace on His servants whom He has chosen; is Allah better, or what they associate (with Him)?

27/An-Naml-60: Amman khalaqa alssamawati waalarda waanzala lakum mina alssamai maan faanbatna bihi hadaiqa thata bahjatin ma kana lakum an tunbitoo shajaraha ailahun maAAa Allahi bal hum qawmun yaAAdiloona
Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not possible for you that you should make the trees thereof to grow. Is there a god with Allah? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)!

27/An-Naml-61: Amman jaAAala alarda qararan wajaAAala khilalaha anharan wajaAAala laha rawasiya wajaAAala bayna albahrayni hajizan ailahun maAAa Allahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona
Is not He (better then your gods) Who made the earth as a fixed abode and placed rivers in its midst, and raised on it mountains, and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a god with Allah? Nay! Most of them do not know!

27/An-Naml-62: Amman yujeebu almudtarra itha daAAahu wayakshifu alssooa wayajAAalukum khulafaa alardi ailahun maAAa Allahi qaleelan ma tathakkaroona
Is not He (better than your gods) who responds to the distressed one, when he calls on Him, and Who removes the evil and makes you successors (vice-gerents) in the earth? Is there an (other) god with Allah? Little is that you remember (deliberate)?

27/An-Naml-63: Amman yahdeekum fee thulumati albarri waalbahri waman yursilu alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi ailahun maAAa Allahi taAAala Allahu AAamma yushrikoona
Is not He (better than your so-called gods) Who guides you in utter darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings (going) before His Mercy (rain)? Is there any (other) god with Allah? High Exalted be Allah above what they associate (with Allah)!

27/An-Naml-64: Amman yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu waman yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi ailahun maAAa Allahi qul hatoo burhanakum in kuntum sadiqeena
Is not He (better than your so-called gods) Who originates the creation, then brings it back and Who gives you sustenance from the heaven and the earth? Is there any (other) god with Allah? Bring your evidence (indisputable argument) if you are truthful.

27/An-Naml-65: Qul la yaAAlamu man fee alssamawati waalardi alghayba illa Allahu wama yashAAuroona ayyana yubAAathoona
Say: No one in the heavens and the earth knows the Unseen (ghaib) but Allah; and they cannot perceive when they will be raised again (resurrected).

27/An-Naml-66: Bali iddaraka AAilmuhum fee alakhirati bal hum fee shakkin minha bal hum minha AAamoona
Nay, their knowledge about the Hereafter has been completed (joined one to another; the knowledge has been given to them entirely); nay, they are (still) in doubt about it (the Hereafter); nay, they are blind to it (to its signs, evidences).

27/An-Naml-67: Waqala allatheena kafaroo aitha kunna turaban waabaona ainna lamukhrajoona
And those who disbelieve say: What! When we have become dust and our fathers (too), shall we certainly be brought forth (from the earth) again?

27/An-Naml-68: Laqad wuAAidna hatha nahnu waabaona min qablu in hatha illa asateeru alawwaleena
We have certainly been promised this, we and our fathers before; verily, these are nothing but legends (tales) of the men of old.

27/An-Naml-69: Qul seeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almujrimeena
Say (to them): Travel in the earth, and then see how was the end of the criminals (the guilty).

27/An-Naml-70: Wala tahzan AAalayhim wala takun fee dayqin mimma yamkuroona
An do not grieve over them, nor be in distress because of what they plot (against you)

27/An-Naml-71: Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
They say: When will this threat (promise) come to pass (be fulfilled), if you are truthful?

27/An-Naml-72: Qul AAasa an yakoona radifa lakum baAAdu allathee tastaAAjiloona
Say: Perhaps that which you wish to hasten on, may be close behind you.

27/An-Naml-73: Wainna rabbaka lathoo fadlin AAala alnnasi walakinna aktharahum la yashkuroona
And surely your Lord is the Owner of Grace [(the Light of) Virtue] for mankind, but most of them are not grateful (do not give thanks).

27/An-Naml-74: Wainna rabbaka layaAAlamu ma tukinnu sudooruhum wama yuAAlinoona
And most surely your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they manifest.

27/An-Naml-75: Wama min ghaibatin fee alssamai waalardi illa fee kitabin mubeenin
And there is nothing concealed in the heaven and the earth but it is in a Clear Book (on the Guarded Tablet)

27/An-Naml-76: Inna hatha alqurana yaqussu AAala banee israeela akthara allathee hum feehi yakhtalifoona
Surely this Qur’an narrates to the Children of Israel most of that (the truths) in which they differ.

27/An-Naml-77: Wainnahu lahudan warahmatun lilmumineena
And most surely it is a Guidance and Mercy for the believers.

27/An-Naml-78: Inna rabbaka yaqdee baynahum bihukmihi wahuwa alAAazeezu alAAaleemu
Surely your Lord will decide between them by His Judgment, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.

27/An-Naml-79: Fatawakkal AAala Allahi innaka AAala alhaqqi almubeeni
