78/An-Nabaa-1: AAamma yatasaaloona
About what do they ask one another?
78/An-Nabaa-2: AAani alnnabai alAAatheemi
About the great news,
78/An-Nabaa-3: Allathee hum feehi mukhtalifoona
about which they differ (are in disagreement)?
78/An-Nabaa-4: Kalla sayaAAlamoona
Nay! They shall soon come to know,
78/An-Nabaa-5: Thumma kalla sayaAAlamoona
Nay, again, they shall soon know.
78/An-Nabaa-6: Alam najAAali alarda mihadan
Have We not made the earth an even expanse (as a bed, a cradle).
78/An-Nabaa-7: Waaljibala awtadan
And the mountains as pegs.
78/An-Nabaa-8: Wakhalaqnakum azwajan
And We created you in pairs.
78/An-Nabaa-9: WajaAAalna nawmakum subatan
And We made your sleep for repose (to be rest to you).
78/An-Nabaa-10: WajaAAalna allayla libasan
And We made the night as a cloak (a cover of darkness for sleep and rest).
78/An-Nabaa-11: WajaAAalna alnnahara maAAashan
And We made the day for (seeking) livelihood.
78/An-Nabaa-12: Wabanayna fawqakum sabAAan shidadan
And We built above you seven strong ones (seven storied buildings, i.e. heavens).
78/An-Nabaa-13: WajaAAalna sirajan wahhajan
And made (therein) a shining lamp.
78/An-Nabaa-14: Waanzalna mina almuAAsirati maan thajjajan
And We send down from those ready to be pressed, the clouds) water (rain) pouring forth abundantly,
78/An-Nabaa-15: Linukhrija bihi habban wanabatan
That We may bring forth (produce) therewith corn (grain) and vegetations (plants, herbs).
78/An-Nabaa-16: Wajannatin alfafan
(so that) gardens of thick growth (can grow).
78/An-Nabaa-17: Inna yawma alfasli kana meeqatan
Surely the Day of Sorting Out (Decision, Judgment) is a fixed time.
78/An-Nabaa-18: Yawma yunfakhu fee alssoori fatatoona afwajan
The Day on which the Trumpet shall be blown, so you shall come forth in multitudes (groups after groups).
78/An-Nabaa-19: Wafutihati alssamao fakanat abwaban
and the heavens shall be opened and it will become as gates,
78/An-Nabaa-20: Wasuyyirati aljibalu fakanat saraban
and the mountains shall be moved off and become as a mirage (a mere semblance).
78/An-Nabaa-21: Inna jahannama kanat mirsadan
Surely Hell lies in ambush (a lookout).
78/An-Nabaa-22: Lilttagheena maaban
A place of resort (return) for the inordinate,
78/An-Nabaa-23: Labitheena feeha ahqaban
Remaining in it for (countless) ages.
78/An-Nabaa-24: La yathooqoona feeha bardan wala sharaban
they shall not taste therein cool nor drink
78/An-Nabaa-25: Illa hameeman waghassaqan
except boiling water and dirty wound discharges (pus).
78/An-Nabaa-26: Jazaan wifaqan
Requital corresponding (A suitable recompense)!
78/An-Nabaa-27: Innahum kanoo la yarjoona hisaban
Surely they did not expect Reckoning.
78/An-Nabaa-28: Wakaththaboo biayatina kiththaban
And called Our Verses (Signs) a lie, giving the lie (to the truth).
78/An-Nabaa-29: Wakulla shayin ahsaynahu kitaban
And We have recorded everything in a Book.
78/An-Nabaa-30: Fathooqoo falan nazeedakum illa AAathaban
so taste (the torment)! We shall not increase you except in torment.
78/An-Nabaa-31: Inna lilmuttaqeena mafazan
Surely for the owners of piety (the pious, Al- Muttaqîn) is a success (a Salvation).
78/An-Nabaa-32: Hadaiqa waaAAnaban
(There are) gardens and vineyards.
78/An-Nabaa-33: WakawaAAiba atraban
And superb shapely young girls equals in age (And those showing freshness of youth, equals in age).
78/An-Nabaa-34: Wakasan dihaqan
And a cup full.
78/An-Nabaa-35: La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala kiththaban
They shall not hear therein any vain words nor lying.
78/An-Nabaa-36: Jazaan min rabbika AAataan hisaban
A reward from your Lord, a gift according to a reckoning:
78/An-Nabaa-37: Rabbi alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma alrrahmani la yamlikoona minhu khitaban
(Allah is) the Lord of the heavens, and the earth and what is between them, the All- Merciful, they shall not be able to have an address from Him.
78/An-Nabaa-38: Yawma yaqoomu alrroohu waalmalaikatu saffan la yatakallamoona illa man athina lahu alrrahmanu waqala sawaban
On that Day the Spirit (of the Imam of the Age) and the angels (that uphold the Throne) stand forth in rows; they will (can) not speak except he whom the All- Merciful permits and who (is permitted) speaks what is reward (merit, the changing of the evil deeds into rewards).
78/An-Nabaa-39: Thalika alyawmu alhaqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi maaban
That (Day) [when the hand of the murshid (the one who makes man’s spirit reach Allah) is kissed and the disciple has depended on him in order to arrive at Allah) is the Day of Truth. Whoever wishes (to reach Allah) takes a Way to his Lord [A Way leading to Allah, the Straight Path (directed towards Allah)].
78/An-Nabaa-40: Inna antharnakum AAathaban qareeban yawma yanthuru almaro ma qaddamat yadahu wayaqoolu alkafiru ya laytanee kuntu turaban
surely We have warned you of a near torment: the Day when man shall see what his two hands have sent before and the disbeliever shall say: woe to me! Would that I was dust!
