56/Al-Waqi'a-1: Itha waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu
When the Event befalls.
56/Al-Waqi'a-2: Laysa liwaqAAatiha kathibatun
There is no (one) belying its befalling.
56/Al-Waqi'a-3: Khafidatun rafiAAatun
Abasing (one party), exalting (the other).
56/Al-Waqi'a-4: Itha rujjati alardu rajjan
When the earth shall be shaken with a (violent) shaking,
56/Al-Waqi'a-5: Wabussati aljibalu bassan
And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling.
56/Al-Waqi'a-6: Fakanat habaan munbaththan
So that they shall be as scattered dust.
56/Al-Waqi'a-7: Wakuntum azwajan thalathatan
And you shall be three sorts (You shall be divided into three groups).
56/Al-Waqi'a-8: Faashabu almaymanati ma ashabu almaymanati
Then (as to) the companions of the right hand [Then (as to) the owners of auspiciousness; (but) how (fortunate) are the companions of the right hand] [the owners of auspiciousness, those who will be given their Records (life films) in their right hands]!
56/Al-Waqi'a-9: Waashabu almashamati ma ashabu almashamati
And (as to) the companions of the left hand [and the owners of inauspiciousness, those who will be given their Records (life films) in their left hands] but how (unfortunate) will be the companions of the left hand (the owners of inauspiciousness)!
56/Al-Waqi'a-10: Waalssabiqoona alssabiqoona
And the Foremost (those who go forward by competing in goodness) are the Foremost (in Paradise).
56/Al-Waqi'a-11: Olaika almuqarraboona
These are they who are drawn near (to Allah).
56/Al-Waqi'a-12: Fee jannati alnnaAAeemi
In Gardens of Comfort (Delight, Relief, “Naîm”).
56/Al-Waqi'a-13: Thullatun mina alawwaleena
A whole multitude from the men of old.
56/Al-Waqi'a-14: Waqaleelun mina alakhireena
And a few from among the latter.
56/Al-Waqi'a-15: AAala sururin mawdoonatin
On thrones decorated (with jewelry, pearls and rubies), plaited with gold.
56/Al-Waqi'a-16: Muttakieena AAalayha mutaqabileena
Reclining on them, facing one another.
56/Al-Waqi'a-17: Yatoofu AAalayhim wildanun mukhalladoona
Immortal youths will go around them.
56/Al-Waqi'a-18: Biakwabin waabareeqa wakasin min maAAeenin
With goblets and ewers and a crystal cup from a pure spring.
56/Al-Waqi'a-19: La yusaddaAAoona AAanha wala yunzifoona
Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication.
56/Al-Waqi'a-20: Wafakihatin mimma yatakhayyaroona
And fruits such as they choose,
56/Al-Waqi'a-21: Walahmi tayrin mimma yashtahoona
And the flesh of fowls as they desire.
56/Al-Waqi'a-22: Wahoorun AAeenun
And Hûr (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes,
56/Al-Waqi'a-23: Kaamthali allului almaknooni
The like of the hidden pearls:
56/Al-Waqi'a-24: Jazaan bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
A reward for what they used to do.
56/Al-Waqi'a-25: La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala tatheeman
They shall not hear therein idle (vain) talk or sinful discourse,
56/Al-Waqi'a-26: Illa qeelan salaman salaman
But only the saying: Peace! Peace!
56/Al-Waqi'a-27: Waashabu alyameeni ma ashabu alyameeni
And the owners of the oath (whose Records, life films) will be given from their right hands (but) how (fortunate) are the owners of the oath.
56/Al-Waqi'a-28: Fee sidrin makhdoodin
(the owners of the oath will be) amid thornless lote-trees.
56/Al-Waqi'a-29: Watalhin mandoodin
(Amid) banana-trees (with fruits piled) one above another.
56/Al-Waqi'a-30: Wathillin mamdoodin
And (in) extended shade,
56/Al-Waqi'a-31: Wamain maskoobin
And (amid) water flowing constantly,
56/Al-Waqi'a-32: Wafakihatin katheeratin
And (amid) abundant fruit (fruit in plenty).
56/Al-Waqi'a-33: La maqtooAAatin wala mamnooAAatin
Neither intercepted (cut off) nor prevented.
56/Al-Waqi'a-34: Wafurushin marfooAAatin
) And on couches (thrones), raised high.
56/Al-Waqi'a-35: Inna anshanahunna inshaan
Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth [Verily, We have created them (maidens) of (special) creation].
56/Al-Waqi'a-36: FajaAAalnahunna abkaran
Then We have made them virgins,
56/Al-Waqi'a-37: AAuruban atraban
Loving (their husbands only), equals in age,
56/Al-Waqi'a-38: Liashabi alyameeni
For the owners of the oath [whose Records (life films) will be given from their right hands and from their front sides].
56/Al-Waqi'a-39: Thullatun mina alawwaleena
A multitude (A numerous company) from the men of old (the first),
56/Al-Waqi'a-40: Wathullatun mina alakhireena
And a multitude (A numerous company) from among the last (the later generations).
56/Al-Waqi'a-41: Waashabu alshshimali ma ashabu alshshimali
And those of the left hand [those ill-omened ones (whose Records (life films) will be given from their left hands, those who are doomed to Hell] but how (unfortunate) are those of the left hand (those ill-omened ones)!
56/Al-Waqi'a-42: Fee samoomin wahameemin
(The ill-omened ones are) in a heat that penetrates to their marrow (in scorching wind, and seething water.
56/Al-Waqi'a-43: Wathillin min yahmoomin
And the shade of black smoke.
56/Al-Waqi'a-44: La baridin wala kareemin
Neither cool nor refreshing (relieving).
56/Al-Waqi'a-45: Innahum kanoo qabla thalika mutrafeena
Surely, before that, they indulged in luxury (they were addicted to pleasure in opulence)
56/Al-Waqi'a-46: Wakanoo yusirroona AAala alhinthi alAAatheemi
And they persisted in the awful sin (in the great violation).
56/Al-Waqi'a-47: Wakanoo yaqooloona aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona
And they used to say: What! When we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised (be restored to life)?
56/Al-Waqi'a-48: Awa abaona alawwaloona
And also our forefathers?
56/Al-Waqi'a-49: Qul inna alawwaleena waalakhireena
Say: The first (Those of old) and the last (those of later times) (will be resurrected).
56/Al-Waqi'a-50: LamajmooAAoona ila meeqati yawmin maAAloomin
All will surely be gathered together for the appointed time of a known Day.
56/Al-Waqi'a-51: Thumma innakum ayyuha alddalloona almukaththiboona
Then, O you the misguided ones, the deniers (beliers)!
56/Al-Waqi'a-52: Laakiloona min shajarin min zaqqoomin
You verily will eat of a tree of Zaqqûm,
56/Al-Waqi'a-53: Famalioona minha albutoona
Then you will fill your belies with it;
56/Al-Waqi'a-54: Fashariboona AAalayhi mina alhameemi
Then drink over it of boiling water;
56/Al-Waqi'a-55: Fashariboona shurba alheemi
And drink as drinks the thirsty camel.
56/Al-Waqi'a-56: Hatha nuzuluhum yawma alddeeni
This will be their welcome (entertainment) on the day of Requital (on the Day of the Religion).
56/Al-Waqi'a-57: Nahnu khalaqnakum falawla tusaddiqoona
We have created you, so should you not assent (verify)?
56/Al-Waqi'a-58: Afaraaytum ma tumnoona
Have you seen the (human) semen that you emit (ejaculate)?
56/Al-Waqi'a-59: Aantum takhluqoonahu am nahnu alkhaliqoona
Is it you who create it or are We the creators (the Creator)?
56/Al-Waqi'a-60: Nahnu qaddarna baynakumu almawta wama nahnu bimasbooqeena
We have ordained death among you and We are not to be outrun (outstripped) (No one can violate Our Ordinance).
56/Al-Waqi'a-61: AAala an nubaddila amthalakum wanunshiakum fee ma la taAAlamoona
In transforming your likes (your physical bodies in the life of this world) (through death) and making you grow into what you do not know (for the world of the Hereafter).
56/Al-Waqi'a-62: Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnashata aloola falawla tathakkaroona
And certainly you have already known the first growth (creation), so should you not then remember (deliberate, take head)?
56/Al-Waqi'a-63: Afaraaytum ma tahruthoona
Have you seen what you sow? (Do you know, do you comprehend that the necessary codes and programs of development are concealed in the seed you have sown in order that a new plant belonging to its species can grow out of the seed of each plant).
56/Al-Waqi'a-64: Aantum tazraAAoonahu am nahnu alzzariAAoona
Is it you that cause it to grow, or are We the causers (the Causer) of growth?
56/Al-Waqi'a-65: Law nashao lajaAAalnahu hutaman fathaltum tafakkahoona
If We willed, We could crumble it to dry pieces, then you would be astounded:
56/Al-Waqi'a-66: Inna lamughramoona
Surely we are burdened with debts (We are ruined, we have lost the money without profit)
56/Al-Waqi'a-67: Bal nahnu mahroomoona
Nay! We are deprived (of produce).
56/Al-Waqi'a-68: Afaraaytumu almaa allathee tashraboona
Moreover, have you seen the water which you drink?
56/Al-Waqi'a-69: Aantum anzaltumoohu mina almuzni am nahnu almunziloona
Is it you that send it down from the cloud, or are We the senders down (the Sender down)?
56/Al-Waqi'a-70: Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajan falawla tashkuroona
If We willed, We verily could make it bitter; why do you not then give thanks?
56/Al-Waqi'a-71: Afaraaytumu alnnara allatee tooroona
Have you seen the fire which you strike (light, kindle)?
56/Al-Waqi'a-72: Aantum anshatum shajarataha am nahnu almunshioona
Is it you who made the tree of it to grow or are We the growers (the Grower)?
56/Al-Waqi'a-73: Nahnu jaAAalnaha tathkiratan wamataAAan lilmuqweena
We have made it a reminder and a comfort (an article of use) for the wayfarers of the desert (for those who want to obtain strength).
56/Al-Waqi'a-74: Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi
Therefore glorify your Lord with His Name, the Most Great!
56/Al-Waqi'a-75: Fala oqsimu bimawaqiAAi alnnujoomi
But nay! I swear by the places (of falling) of the stars!
56/Al-Waqi'a-76: Wainnahu laqasamun law taAAlamoona AAatheemun
And most surely it is a very great oath if you only knew;
56/Al-Waqi'a-77: Innahu laquranun kareemun
Most surely it is an honored (noble, generous) Qur’ân.
56/Al-Waqi'a-78: Fee kitabin maknoonin
(Incribed) in a Book well-guarded (hidden in the Guarded Tablet).
56/Al-Waqi'a-79: La yamassuhu illa almutahharoona
None may touch it except the purified ones corporeally and incorporeally.
56/Al-Waqi'a-80: Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena
A revelation (A descent) from the Lord of the Worlds.
56/Al-Waqi'a-81: Afabihatha alhadeethi antum mudhinoona
Do you then hold this announcement in contempt? (Are you then those who do not believe in this saying and doubt it?).
56/Al-Waqi'a-82: WatajAAaloona rizqakum annakum tukaththiboona
Do you then hold this announcement in contempt? (Are you then those who do not believe in this saying and doubt it?).
56/Al-Waqi'a-83: Falawla itha balaghati alhulqooma
Then, it (man’s soul) must have come up to the throat,
56/Al-Waqi'a-84: Waantum heenaithin tanthuroona
And you at that time look on (it only without being able to help it).
56/Al-Waqi'a-85: Wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi minkum walakin la tubsiroona
And We are nearer to it than you, but you do not see.
56/Al-Waqi'a-86: Falawla in kuntum ghayra madeeneena
So if you are they who are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (for your deeds),
56/Al-Waqi'a-87: TarjiAAoonaha in kuntum sadiqeena
Bring it back (the soul to its body), if you are truthful.
56/Al-Waqi'a-88: Faamma in kana mina almuqarrabeena
Then if he is one of those drawn near (to Allah).
56/Al-Waqi'a-89: Farawhun warayhanun wajannatu naAAeemin
(There is for him) repose, scented plants and a Garden of Delights (Naîm).
56/Al-Waqi'a-90: Waamma in kana min ashabi alyameeni
And if he is one of the owners of the oath [one of those whose Records (life films) will be given from their right hands].
56/Al-Waqi'a-91: Fasalamun laka min ashabi alyameeni
Then (it is said): Peace to you from the owners of the oath [from those whose Records (life films) will be given from their right hands].
56/Al-Waqi'a-92: Waamma in kana mina almukaththibeena alddalleena
And if he is one of the deniers (beliers), the misguided ones (those who are in Misguidance).
56/Al-Waqi'a-93: Fanuzulun min hameemin
Then a welcome (an entertainment) will be boiling water.
56/Al-Waqi'a-94: Watasliyatu jaheemin
And burning in Hell-fire (leaning against Hell-fire).
56/Al-Waqi'a-95: Inna hatha lahuwa haqqu alyaqeeni
Most surely this! This is a certain truth.
56/Al-Waqi'a-96: Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi
Therefore glorify your Lord with His Name: the Most Great (The Tremendous)!
