28/Al-Qasas-1: Taseenmeem
Tâ-Sîn-Mîm. [These disjointed letters are one of the miracles of the Qur´ân, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.].
28/Al-Qasas-2: Tilka ayatu alkitabi almubeeni
These are the Verses of the Manifest Book [of the Book that makes (things) plain].
28/Al-Qasas-3: Natloo AAalayka min nabai moosa wafirAAawna bialhaqqi liqawmin yuminoona
We recite (read and explain) to you from the news of Moses and Pharaoh with truth for a people who believe.
28/Al-Qasas-4: Inna firAAawna AAala fee alardi wajaAAala ahlaha shiyaAAan yastadAAifu taifatan minhum yuthabbihu abnaahum wayastahyee nisaahum innahu kana mina almufsideena
Surely Pharaoh exalted himself in the land (earth) and made its people into parties, weakening one party (a group) among them; he slaughtered their sons and let their women live; surely he was one of the mischief-makers.
28/Al-Qasas-5: Wanureedu an namunna AAala allatheena istudAAifoo fee alardi wanajAAalahum aimmatan wanajAAalahumu alwaritheena
And We wished to bestow a Blessing (favor) upon those who were deemed weak in the land, and make them the Imams (religious leaders) and make them the heirs (inheritors).
28/Al-Qasas-6: Wanumakkina lahum fee alardi wanuriya firAAawna wahamana wajunoodahuma minhum ma kanoo yahtharoona
To establish them (to grant them power) in the earth (land) and to make Pharaoh and Haman and their hosts see from them (the Children of Israel) what they avoided (feared).
28/Al-Qasas-7: Waawhayna ila ommi moosa an ardiAAeehi faitha khifti AAalayhi faalqeehi fee alyammi wala takhafee wala tahzanee inna raddoohu ilayki wajaAAiloohu mina almursaleena
And We revealed to Moses’ mother (saying): Suckle him (Moses), then when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and do not fear nor grieve; surely We will bring back to you and make him one of the Messengers.
28/Al-Qasas-8: Failtaqatahu alu firAAawna liyakoona lahum AAaduwwan wahazanan inna firAAawna wahamana wajunoodahuma kanoo khatieena
And Pharaoh’s family took him up that he might become an enemy and (a cause of) grief for them; surely Pharaoh and Hâmân and their hosts were ever sinning (knowingly).
28/Al-Qasas-9: Waqalati imraatu firAAawna qurratu AAaynin lee walaka la taqtuloohu AAasa an yanfaAAana aw nattakhithahu waladan wahum la yashAAuroona
And Pharaoh’s wife said: a refreshment of the eye for me and for you; do not kill him; perhaps he may be of benefit to us, or we may adopt him as a son (take him for a son); and they did not perceive.
28/Al-Qasas-10: Waasbaha fuadu ommi moosa farighan in kadat latubdee bihi lawla an rabatna AAala qalbiha litakoona mina almumineena
And the heart of Moses’ mother was void (empty from every thought except the thought of Moses); she would have almost disclosed it if We had not strengthened (fortified) her heart (if We had not tied her heart to Us; if We had not established a connection with her heart) so that she might be of the believers.
28/Al-Qasas-11: Waqalat liokhtihi qusseehi fabasurat bihi AAan junubin wahum la yashAAuroona
She (Moses’ mother) said to his elder sister: Follow him up (Trace him). So she watched him from a distance while they did not perceive.
28/Al-Qasas-12: Waharramna AAalayhi almaradiAAa min qablu faqalat hal adullukum AAala ahli baytin yakfuloonahu lakum wahum lahu nasihoona
And We had already forbidden (other) foster suckling mothers for him (We ensured that he should not suck at the other mothers ’breasts) so she (his elder sister) said: Shall I direct you to a household who will undertake his care for you and they will be benevolent to him?
28/Al-Qasas-13: Faradadnahu ila ommihi kay taqarra AAaynuha wala tahzana walitaAAlama anna waAAda Allahi haqqun walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona
So we gave him back to his mother that her eye may be refreshed (comforted), and that she might not grieve, and she might know that the Promise of Allah is true, but most of them do not know.
28/Al-Qasas-14: Walamma balagha ashuddahu waistawa ataynahu hukman waAAilman wakathalika najzee almuhsineena
And when he attained his maturity (his full strength) and become full grown (he reached ripeness), We gave him wisdom and knowledge; and thus do We reward the good-doers (Al-Muhsinîn).
28/Al-Qasas-15: Wadakhala almadeenata AAala heeni ghaflatin min ahliha fawajada feeha rajulayni yaqtatilani hatha min sheeAAatihi wahatha min AAaduwwihi faistaghathahu allathee min sheeAAatihi AAala allathee min AAaduwwihi fawakazahu moosa faqada AAalayhi qala hatha min AAamali alshshaytani innahu AAaduwwun mudillun mubeenun
And he (Moses, before wisdom was given to him) went into the city at a time of unvigilance (unawareness) of its people (without any one perceived it) so he found therein two men fighting, one being of his party and the other of his enemies, and he who was of his party asked him for help against him who was of his enemies, so Moses struck him with his fist and killed him. He said: This is of the devil’s doing. Surely he is an enemy, leaving openly in Misguidance.
28/Al-Qasas-16: Qala rabbi innee thalamtu nafsee faighfir lee faghafara lahu innahu huwa alghafooru alrraheemu
He said: My Lord! Surely I have wronged myself (my soul), so forgive me. Then He forgave him; surely He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
28/Al-Qasas-17: Qala rabbi bima anAAamta AAalayya falan akoona thaheeran lilmujrimeena
He said: My Lord! Because of what You have bestowed on me blessing, I shall never be a backer of the criminals (the guilty).
28/Al-Qasas-18: Faasbaha fee almadeenati khaifan yataraqqabu faitha allathee istansarahu bialamsi yastasrikhuhu qala lahu moosa innaka laghawiyyun mubeenun
And morning found him in the city, fearing, watchful; when behold! He who had appealed to him the day before cried out to him for help. Moses said to him: Verily, you are a plain misleader (a mere hothead)!
28/Al-Qasas-19: Falamma an arada an yabtisha biallathee huwa AAaduwwun lahuma qala ya moosa atureedu an taqtulanee kama qatalta nafsan bialamsi in tureedu illa an takoona jabbaran fee alardi wama tureedu an takoona mina almusliheena
So when he desired to seize him who was an enemy to them both, he said: O Moses! Do you intend to kill me as you killed a person yesterday? You desire nothing but that you should be a tyrant in the land, and you do not desire to be of the reconcilers (improvers).
28/Al-Qasas-20: Wajaa rajulun min aqsa almadeenati yasAAa qala ya moosa inna almalaa yatamiroona bika liyaqtulooka faokhruj innee laka mina alnnasiheena
And a man came running from the remotest part of the city. He said: O Moses! Surely the chiefs are consulting together to kill you, therefore escape; surely I am of the good advisers to you.
28/Al-Qasas-21: Fakharaja minha khaifan yataraqqabu qala rabbi najjinee mina alqawmi alththalimeena
So he escaped from there, fearing, vigilant. He said: My Lord! Deliver me from the wrongdoing people.
28/Al-Qasas-22: Walamma tawajjaha tilqaa madyana qala AAasa rabbee an yahdiyanee sawaa alssabeeli
And when he turned towards (the city of) Midian, he said: Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the leveled way.
28/Al-Qasas-23: Walamma warada maa madyana wajada AAalayhi ommatan mina alnnasi yasqoona wawajada min doonihimu imraatayni tathoodani qala ma khatbukuma qalata la nasqee hatta yusdira alrriAAao waaboona shaykhun kabeerun
And when he came to the water of Midian (Madyan) he found on it a group of men watering (their flocks), and he found besides them two women keeping (their flocks). He said: What is the matter with you? They said: We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take away (their flocks) from the water, and our father is a very old man.
28/Al-Qasas-24: Fasaqa lahuma thumma tawalla ila alththilli faqala rabbi innee lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeerun
So he watered (their sheep) for them, then went back to the shade and said: My Lord! Surely I stand in need of whatever you may send down to me.
28/Al-Qasas-25: Fajaathu ihdahuma tamshee AAala istihyain qalat inna abee yadAAooka liyajziyaka ajra ma saqayta lana falamma jaahu waqassa AAalayhi alqasasa qala la takhaf najawta mina alqawmi alththalimeena
Then one of the two women came to him bashfully. She said: My father invites you that he may give you the reward of your having watered (the flock) for us. So when he came to him and told him the whole story, he said: Do not fear! You are saved from the wrong-doing folk.
28/Al-Qasas-26: Qalat ihdahuma ya abati istajirhu inna khayra mani istajarta alqawiyyu alameenu
One of the two women said: O my father! Hire him, surely the best of those you can hire (employ) is the strong, the faithful one.
28/Al-Qasas-27: Qala innee oreedu an onkihaka ihda ibnatayya hatayni AAala an tajuranee thamaniya hijajin fain atmamta AAashran famin AAindika wama oreedu an ashuqqa AAalayka satajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssaliheena
He said: I desire to marry one of these two daughters of mine to you on condition that you should serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be of your own free will, and I do not wish to be hard to you; if Allah wills, you will find me one of the improved ones (Salihîn).
28/Al-Qasas-28: Qala thalika baynee wabaynaka ayyama alajalayni qadaytu fala AAudwana AAalayya waAllahu AAala ma naqoolu wakeelun
He (Moses) said: That (is settled) between you and me; whichever of the two terms I fulfill, let there be no enmity to me; and Allah is Surety over what we say.
28/Al-Qasas-29: Falamma qada moosaalajala wasara biahlihi anasa min janibi alttoori naran qala liahlihi omkuthoo innee anastu naran laAAallee ateekum minha bikhabarin aw jathwatin mina alnnari laAAallakum tastaloona
So when Moses had fulfilled the term, and he journeyed with his family, he perceived on this side of the mountain (Mount, Tur) a fire, He said to his family: Wait, I have seen a fire, maybe I will bring to you from it some news or a brand of fire, so that you may warm yourselves.
28/Al-Qasas-30: Falamma ataha noodiya min shatii alwadi alaymani fee albuqAAati almubarakati mina alshshajarati an ya moosa innee ana Allahu rabbu alAAalameena
And when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in the blessed spot of the tree (bush). (saying): O Moses! surely I, even I am Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
28/Al-Qasas-31: Waan alqi AAasaka falamma raaha tahtazzu kaannaha jannun walla mudbiran walam yuAAaqqib ya moosa aqbil wala takhaf innaka mina alamineena
And (saying): Cast down your staff! So when he saw it in motion as if it were a serpent (he saw it writhing as it had been a demon), he turned in flight and did not look back. (It was said): O Moses! Draw near, and do not fear; surely you are of those who are secure.
28/Al-Qasas-32: Osluk yadaka fee jaybika takhruj baydaa min ghayri sooin waodmum ilayka janahaka mina alrrahbi fathanika burhanani min rabbika ila firAAawna wamalaihi innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena
Enter your hand into the opening of your bosom, it will come forth white without evil (flawless) and draw your wings (hands) to yourself to ward off fear: so these two shall be two indisputable arguments from your Lord to Pharaoh and his chiefs (notables), surely they are the people who are Fâsiqûn (disobedient to Allah, those who are not in the Way of Allah, or have gone out of it).
28/Al-Qasas-33: Qala rabbi innee qataltu minhum nafsan faakhafu an yaqtulooni
He (Moses) said: My Lord! Surely I killed one of them, so I fear lest they should kill me;
28/Al-Qasas-34: Waakhee haroonu huwa afsahu minnee lisanan faarsilhu maAAiya ridan yusaddiqunee innee akhafu an yukaththibooni
And my brother Aaron, he is more eloquent of tongue (in speech) than I, therefore send him with me: surely I fear that they would deny (belie) me.
28/Al-Qasas-35: Qala sanashuddu AAadudaka biakheeka wanajAAalu lakuma sultanan fala yasiloona ilaykuma biayatina antuma wamani ittabaAAakuma alghaliboona
He (Allah) said: We will strengthen your arm with your brother, and We will give you both an authority (power), so that they shall not reach you, thanks to Our Signs (Our miracles, Our miraculous aids); you two and those who follow (have depended on) you shall be the vanquishers (the victors).
28/Al-Qasas-36: Falamma jaahum moosa biayatina bayyinatin qaloo ma hatha illa sihrun muftaran wama samiAAna bihatha fee abaina alawwaleena
So when Moses came to them with Our Clear Signs, they said: This is nothing but invented magic (forged enchantment), and we never heard of it among our fathers of old.
28/Al-Qasas-37: Waqala moosa rabbee aAAlamu biman jaa bialhuda min AAindihi waman takoonu lahu AAaqibatu alddari innahu la yuflihu alththalimoona
And Moses said: My Lord knows best who comes with Guidance from His Presence, and whose shall be the end of the Home (of the world); surely the wrong-doers shall not be successful (shall not attain to the Salvation).
28/Al-Qasas-38: Waqala firAAawnu ya ayyuha almalao ma AAalimtu lakum min ilahin ghayree faawqid lee ya hamanu AAala altteeni faijAAal lee sarhan laAAallee attaliAAu ila ilahi moosa wainnee laathunnuhu mina alkathibeena
And Pharaoh said: O chiefs (notables)! I do not know of any god for you other than me; therefore kindle (a fire) for me, O Hâmân, upon the clay (bake bricks out of clay), and set up for me a lofty building (a lofty tower) so that I may obtain knowledge of Moses’ God (I may ascend to the God of Moses), and most surely I deem him to be one of the liars.
28/Al-Qasas-39: Waistakbara huwa wajunooduhu fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi wathannoo annahum ilayna la yurjaAAoona
And he was unjustly proud (arrogant) in the earth, he and his host, and they deemed that they would never be brought back to Us.
28/Al-Qasas-40: Faakhathnahu wajunoodahu fanabathnahum fee alyammi faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu alththalimeena
So We caught hold of him and his hosts, then We cast them into the sea, and see how was the end of the wrongdoers (unjust).
28/Al-Qasas-41: WajaAAalnahum aimmatan yadAAoona ila alnnari wayawma alqiyamati la yunsaroona
And We made them Imams (leaders) who call to the Fire, and, on the Day of Resurrection they shall not be helped.
28/Al-Qasas-42: WaatbaAAnahum fee hathihi alddunya laAAnatan wayawma alqiyamati hum mina almaqbooheena
And We caused a Curse to follow them in this world and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be of those made to appear hideous (to be removed from Allah’s Mercy).
28/Al-Qasas-43: Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba min baAAdi ma ahlakna alquroona aloola basaira lilnnasi wahudan warahmatan laAAallahum yatathakkaroona
And certainly We gave Moses the Book (the Torah) after We had destroyed the former generations, being insights for men (that their hearts’ eyes should begin to sight) and a Guidance [that which makes (men) reach Allah] and a Mercy (that Allah should manifest Himself with His Name of Most Merciful), that perhaps they might deliberate (remember).
28/Al-Qasas-44: Wama kunta bijanibi algharbiyyi ith qadayna ila moosa alamra wama kunta mina alshshahideena
And you (O Muhammad!) were not on the western side (of the Mount) when we decreed (fulfilled) to Moses the Commandment and you were not among the witnesses (among those who had seen the event).
28/Al-Qasas-45: Walakinna anshana quroonan fatatawala AAalayhimu alAAumuru wama kunta thawiyan fee ahli madyana tatloo AAalayhim ayatina walakinna kunna mursileena
But We raised up generations (after generations) and long were the ages that passed over them (then life become prolonged to them); and (while) you were not dwelling among the people of Madian, you recite (read and explain) to them (to the Companions of yours) Our Verses (Signs). But it is We Who kept sending (those news to you).
28/Al-Qasas-46: Wama kunta bijanibi alttoori ith nadayna walakin rahmatan min rabbika litunthira qawman ma atahum min natheerin min qablika laAAallahum yatathakkaroona
And you were not on this side of the mountain (Mount) when We called, but a Mercy from your Lord that you may warn a people to whom no Warner (no Prophet) came before you, that they may deliberate (remember).
28/Al-Qasas-47: Walawla an tuseebahum museebatun bima qaddamat aydeehim fayaqooloo rabbana lawla arsalta ilayna rasoolan fanattabiAAa ayatika wanakoona mina almumineena
And were it not that a disaster should befall them for what their hands have sent before, then they should say: Our Lord! If only you should have sent to us a Messenger so that we should have followed your Verses (Signs) and been of the believers.
28/Al-Qasas-48: Falamma jaahumu alhaqqu min AAindina qaloo lawla ootiya mithla ma ootiya moosa awalam yakfuroo bima ootiya moosa min qablu qaloo sihrani tathahara waqaloo inna bikullin kafiroona
But (now) when the truth has come to them from Our Presence, they say: Why is he not given the like of what was given to Moses? What! Did they not disbelieve in what Moses was given before? They say: Two magics that back up (support) each other; and they say: Surely we are disbelievers in all.
28/Al-Qasas-49: Qul fatoo bikitabin min AAindi Allahi huwa ahda minhuma attabiAAhu in kuntum sadiqeena
Say (to them): Then bring a Book from the Presence of Allah that yields better Guidance than both of them, (that) I may follow it, if you are truthful.
28/Al-Qasas-50: Fain lam yastajeeboo laka faiAAlam annama yattabiAAoona ahwaahum waman adallu mimmani ittabaAAa hawahu bighayri hudan mina Allahi inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena
But if they do not answer you (if they do not comply with your call to make them reach Guidance), then know that they only follow their low desires; and who is more erring than he who follows his low desires without any Guide from Allah? Surely Allah does not guide the wrongdoing (unjust) people.
28/Al-Qasas-51: Walaqad wassalna lahumu alqawla laAAallahum yatathakkaroona
And certainly We have caused the word to reach them, in order that they may remember (deliberate, receive admonition).
28/Al-Qasas-52: Allatheena ataynahumu alkitaba min qablihi hum bihi yuminoona
(As to) those whom We gave the Book before it; they are believers in it (in the Noble Qur’an).
28/Al-Qasas-53: Waitha yutla AAalayhim qaloo amanna bihi innahu alhaqqu min rabbina inna kunna min qablihi muslimeena
And when it is recited (read and explained) to them, they say: We believe in it; surely it is the truth from our Lord; surely we were submitters (muslimîn, those who submit themselves to Allah).
28/Al-Qasas-54: Olaika yutawna ajrahum marratayni bima sabaroo wayadraoona bialhasanati alssayyiata wamimma razaqnahum yunfiqoona
These shall be given their reward twice over, because they are patient, and they repel the evil with the good, and spend out of what We have given them as sustenance.
28/Al-Qasas-55: Waitha samiAAoo allaghwa aAAradoo AAanhu waqaloo lana aAAmaluna walakum aAAmalukum salamun AAalaykum la nabtaghee aljahileena
And when they hear “Al-Laghw” (dirty, false, evil vain talk), they turn aside from it and say: For us are our deeds and for you your deeds, peace be on you, we do not desire the ignorant (We do not show concern for the ignorant).
28/Al-Qasas-56: Innaka la tahdee man ahbabta walakinna Allaha yahdee man yashao wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena
Surely you cannot guide whom you love (you cannot make the spirit of him whom you love reach Allah), but Allah guides whom He wills (but Allah causes whom He wills to reach Guidance) and He knows best those who have attained to Guidance.
28/Al-Qasas-57: Waqaloo in nattabiAAi alhuda maAAaka nutakhattaf min ardina awalam numakkin lahum haraman aminan yujba ilayhi thamaratu kulli shayin rizqan min ladunna walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona
And they say: If we follow the Guidance with you, we would be snatched away from our land. What! Have we not settled them in a safe, sacred territory to which fruits of every kind are brought? Sustenance from Our Presence; but must of them do not know (that these are from the Divine Presence).
28/Al-Qasas-58: Wakam ahlakna min qaryatin batirat maAAeeshataha fatilka masakinuhum lam tuskan min baAAdihim illa qaleelan wakunna nahnu alwaritheena
And how many a town have We destroyed, which exulted in (was thankless for) its means of livelihood; so these are their dwellings; they have not been dwelt in after them except a little, and We, even We, have been the inheritors.
28/Al-Qasas-59: Wama kana rabbuka muhlika alqura hatta yabAAatha fee ommiha rasoolan yatloo AAalayhim ayatina wama kunna muhlikee alqura illa waahluha thalimoona
And your Lord never destroyed the towns until He raised in their mother town (metropolis) a Messenger, reciting (reading and explaining) to them our Verses (Signs) and We never destroyed the towns except when their people were wrongdoers (unjust, oppressors and tyrants..).
28/Al-Qasas-60: Wama ooteetum min shayin famataAAu alhayati alddunya wazeenatuha wama AAinda Allahi khayrun waabqa afala taAAqiloona
And whatever things you have been given are only an enjoyment (a provision, a comfort) of the life of the world and its ornament, and whatever is in the Divine Presence (with Allah) is better and more lasting; do you not then use your mind?
28/Al-Qasas-61: Afaman waAAadnahu waAAdan hasanan fahuwa laqeehi kaman mattaAAnahu mataAAa alhayati alddunya thumma huwa yawma alqiyamati mina almuhdareena
Is he to whom We have promised a goodly promise which he shall meet with like him whom We have provided with the provisions of this world’s life, then on the Day of Resurrection he shall be of those who are made to be present (in order to be called to account).
28/Al-Qasas-62: Wayawma yunadeehim fayaqoolu ayna shurakaiya allatheena kuntum tazAAumoona
On the Day He (Allah) shall call unto them and say: Where are those whom you deemed to be my associates?
28/Al-Qasas-63: Qala allatheena haqqa AAalayhimu alqawlu rabbana haolai allatheena aghwayna aghwaynahum kama ghawayna tabarrana ilayka ma kanoo iyyana yaAAbudoona
Those about whom the Word will have come true will say: These are they whom we led astray. We led them astray (We caused them to err), as we were astray ourselves (too). We present to you that we are clear (of them); they never worshipped us (they followed their souls’ low desires).
28/Al-Qasas-64: Waqeela odAAoo shurakaakum fadaAAawhum falam yastajeeboo lahum waraawoo alAAathaba law annahum kanoo yahtadoona
And it is said to them: Call your associates. So they call upon them, but they will not answer them and they shall see the torment. If only they had attained to Guidance (If only they had been guided)!
28/Al-Qasas-65: Wayawma yunadeehim fayaqoolu matha ajabtumu almursaleena
And on that Day (Allah) will call to them and say: What was the answer you gave to the Messengers (when you were alive?).
28/Al-Qasas-66: FaAAamiyat AAalayhimu alanbao yawmaithin fahum la yatasaaloona
Then the news (the book of deeds, the numbered book, and the life film) shall become obscure to them, so they shall not ask each other (then, they will not be questioned).
28/Al-Qasas-67: Faamma man taba waamana waAAamila salihan faAAasa an yakoona mina almufliheena
But as to him who repents (before the murshid, the saint guide) and believes (becomes âmenû for the second time) and does improving deeds (does the soul’s purification), so (for this reason) he may be of the successful (of those who have reached the Salvation).
28/Al-Qasas-68: Warabbuka yakhluqu ma yashao wayakhtaru ma kana lahumu alkhiyaratu subhana Allahi wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona
And your Lord creates whatever He wills and chooses. They have never any choice (the right to choose is not theirs). Glory be to Allah and exalted be He above what they associate (with Him).
28/Al-Qasas-69: Warabbuka yaAAlamu ma tukinnu sudooruhum wama yuAAlinoona
And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they manifest.
28/Al-Qasas-70: Wahuwa Allahu la ilaha illa huwa lahu alhamdu fee aloola waalakhirati walahu alhukmu wailayhi turjaAAoona
And He is Allah; there is no god but Him! All praise is due to Him in the former (in this world) and in the latter (in the Hereafter), and His is the Judgment, and to Him you shall be brought back (returned).
28/Al-Qasas-71: Qul araaytum in jaAAala Allahu AAalaykumu allayla sarmadan ila yawmi alqiyamati man ilahun ghayru Allahi yateekum bidiyain afala tasmaAAoona
Say: Have you seen (thought), if Allah were to make the night to continue incessantly on you till the Day of Resurrection, who is the god besides Allah that could bring you, light? Do you not then hear?
28/Al-Qasas-72: Qul araaytum in jaAAala Allahu AAalaykumu alnnahara sarmadan ila yawmi alqiyamati man ilahun ghayru Allahi yateekum bilaylin taskunoona feehi afala tubsiroona
Say: Have you seen (thought), if Allah were to make the day to continue permanently on you till the Day of Resurrection, who is the god besides Allah that could bring you the night in which you take rest? Do you not then see?
28/Al-Qasas-73: Wamin rahmatihi jaAAala lakumu allayla waalnnahara litaskunoo feehi walitabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona
And out of His Mercy He has made for you the night and the day, that you rest therein (i.e. during the night) and that you may seek of His Bounty [Grace, (the Light of) Virtue], and that you may be grateful.
28/Al-Qasas-74: Wayawma yunadeehim fayaqoolu ayna shurakaiya allatheena kuntum tazAAumoona
And on the Day when He shall call unto them and say: Where are those whom you deemed to be my associates?
28/Al-Qasas-75: WanazaAAna min kulli ommatin shaheedan faqulna hatoo burhanakum faAAalimoo anna alhaqqa lillahi wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona
And We will draw forth from among every nation (community) a witness and say: Bring your indisputable argument (proof); then they shall know that the truth is Allah’s, and that which they forged shall depart from them.
28/Al-Qasas-76: Inna qaroona kana min qawmi moosa fabagha AAalayhim waataynahu mina alkunoozi ma inna mafatihahu latanooo bialAAusbati olee alquwwati ith qala lahu qawmuhu la tafrah inna Allaha la yuhibbu alfariheena
Surely Korah (Qârûn) was of the people of Moses, but he rebelled against them (he behaved arrogantly against them), and We had given him of the treasures. The keys of them would verily have been a burden for a body of strong men. When his people said to him: Do not exult (with riches, being ungrateful to Allah); surely Allah does not love the exultant.
28/Al-Qasas-77: Waibtaghi feema ataka Allahu alddara alakhirata wala tansa naseebaka mina alddunya waahsin kama ahsana Allahu ilayka wala tabghi alfasada fee alardi inna Allaha la yuhibbu almufsideena
And seek the Abode of the Hereafter in that which Allah has given you, and do not forget (neglect) your portion of this world; and do good (to others) as Allah has been good to you [bestow (on others) as Allah has bestowed on you] and do not seek to make mischief in the earth, surely Allah does not love the mischief-makers.
28/Al-Qasas-78: Qala innama ooteetuhu AAala AAilmin AAindee awalam yaAAlam anna Allaha qad ahlaka min qablihi mina alqurooni man huwa ashaddu minhu quwwatan waaktharu jamAAan wala yusalu AAan thunoobihimu almujrimoona
He said: This has been given to me only because of the knowledge I possess. Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of the generations those who were mightier in strength than he and greater in the amount (of riches) they had collected? And the criminals (the guilty) shall not be questioned of their faults (sins).
28/Al-Qasas-79: Fakharaja AAala qawmihi fee zeenatihi qala allatheena yureedoona alhayata alddunya ya layta lana mithla ma ootiya qaroonu innahu lathoo haththin AAatheemin
So he went forth to his people in his finery (in his great pomp). Those who were desirous of the life of the world said: Ah, would that we had the like of what Korah (Qârûn) has been given! Verily he is the owner of a great fortune (delight, gratification, happiness)
28/Al-Qasas-80: Waqala allatheena ootoo alAAilma waylakum thawabu Allahi khayrun liman amana waAAamila salihan wala yulaqqaha illa alssabiroona
and those who were given the knowledge said: Woe to you! Allah’s reward is better for him who believes (who is âmenû, who wishes to reach Allah before dying) and does improving deeds (does the soul’s purification) and none is made to reach (receive) this (better reward) except the patient.
28/Al-Qasas-81: Fakhasafna bihi wabidarihi alarda fama kana lahu min fiatin yansuroonahu min dooni Allahi wama kana mina almuntasireena
So We caused the earth to swallow up him and his dwelling place; so he had no body of helpers to assist against Allah, nor was he of those who are helped (who can save themselves).
28/Al-Qasas-82: Waasbaha allatheena tamannaw makanahu bialamsi yaqooloona waykaanna Allaha yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lawla an manna Allahu AAalayna lakhasafa bina waykaannahu la yuflihu alkafiroona
And those who yearned for his place only the day before began to say; Ah! (Know) that Allah amplifies and straitens the means of subsistence for which He wills of His servants. If Allah had not been gracious to us, (If Allah had not bestowed His Blessing on us) He would have caused it to swallow us up (also). Assuredly the disbelievers never prosper (never attain to the Salvation).
28/Al-Qasas-83: Tilka alddaru alakhiratu najAAaluha lillatheena la yureedoona AAuluwwan fee alardi wala fasadan waalAAaqibatu lilmuttaqeena
As for the Abode of the Hereafter, We assign it to those who do not seek to exalt themselves in the earth nor to make mischief and the (good) end is for the pious (the owners of piety).
28/Al-Qasas-84: Man jaa bialhasanati falahu khayrun minha waman jaa bialssayyiati fala yujza allatheena AAamiloo alssayyiati illa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
Whoever brings good (good deeds, the positive degrees) so for him is the better of it; and whoever brings evil (evil deeds, the negative degrees), then those who do evil deeds will only be requited for what they used to do (the equal with the remaining degrees after the degrees they have earned have been subtracted from the degrees they have lost).
28/Al-Qasas-85: Inna allathee farada AAalayka alqurana laradduka ila maAAadin qul rabbee aAAlamu man jaa bialhuda waman huwa fee dalalin mubeenin
Most surely He who has made the Qur’an binding (obligatory) on you will bring you back to a place of return (to Makkah or to Paradise). Say; My Lord knows best him who comes with the Guidance and him who is in manifest Misguidance.
28/Al-Qasas-86: Wama kunta tarjoo an yulqa ilayka alkitabu illa rahmatan min rabbika fala takoonanna thaheeran lilkafireena
And you did not expect that the Book would be made to reach you, but it is a Mercy from your Lord, therefore be not a backer up of the disbelievers.
28/Al-Qasas-87: Wala yasuddunnaka AAan ayati Allahi baAAda ith onzilat ilayka waodAAu ila rabbika wala takoonanna mina almushrikeena
And let them not turn you away from the Verses (Signs) of Allah after they have been sent down to you, and call (men) to your Lord and be not of the associators (polytheists).
28/Al-Qasas-88: Wala tadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara la ilaha illa huwa kullu shayin halikun illa wajhahu lahu alhukmu wailayhi turjaAAoona
And call not with Allah any other god; there is no god but He; Everything will perish save His Face (His Essence, Zât). His is the Judgment, and to Him you shall be brought back.
