58/Al-Mujadila-1: Qad samiAAa Allahu qawla allatee tujadiluka fee zawjiha watashtakee ila Allahi waAllahu yasmaAAu tahawurakuma inna Allaha sameeAAun baseerun
Allah indeed has heard the word(s) of her who disputed with you about her husband and made her plaint to Allah (complained to Allah). And Allah has heard your conversing with each other; surely Allah is All-Hearer, All-Seer.
58/Al-Mujadila-2: Allatheena yuthahiroona minkum min nisaihim ma hunna ommahatihim in ommahatuhum illa allaee waladnahum wainnahum layaqooloona munkaran mina alqawli wazooran wainna Allaha laAAafuwwun ghafoorun
(As for) those of you who put away their wives by likening their backs to the backs of their mothers, they are not their mothers; their mothers are no others than those who gave them birth; and most surely they utter an unknown (unheard-of) word and an invention (a falsehood, a lie); and most surely Allah is Oft-Pardoning, Oft- Forgiving.
58/Al-Mujadila-3: Waallatheena yuthahiroona min nisaihim thumma yaAAoodoona lima qaloo fatahreeru raqabatin min qabli an yatamassa thalikum tooAAathoona bihi waAllahu bima taAAmaloona khabeerun
And (as for) those who make unlawful to them their wives by Zihar (by likening their backs to the backs of their mothers) then retract what they said, they should free a captive (a slave) before they touch each other (again); to that you are admonished; and Allah is All-Aware of what you do
58/Al-Mujadila-4: Faman lam yajid fasiyamu shahrayni mutatabiAAayni min qabli an yatamassa faman lam yastatiAA faitAAamu sitteena miskeenan thalika lituminoo biAllahi warasoolihi watilka hudoodu Allahi walilkafireena AAathabun aleemun
And whoever does not find (the money for freeing a slave), let him fast two successive months before they touch each other; then as for him who is not able (to do so), let him feed sixty needy ones; that is in order that you may have faith in Allah and His Messenger, and these are Allah’s limits, and for the disbelievers, there is a painful torment.
58/Al-Mujadila-5: Inna allatheena yuhaddoona Allaha warasoolahu kubitoo kama kubita allatheena min qablihim waqad anzalna ayatin bayyinatin walilkafireena AAathabun muheenun
Surely those who oppose (act in opposition to) Allah and His Messenger will be made vile and despicable as those before them were disgraced (were made vile and despicable). And We have sent down clear Verses (Signs). And for the disbelievers is an abasing torment.
58/Al-Mujadila-6: Yawma yabAAathuhumu Allahu jameeAAan fayunabbiohum bima AAamiloo ahsahu Allahu wanasoohu waAllahu AAala kulli shayin shaheedun
On the Day when Allah will raise them up all together, then inform them of what they did. Allah has kept account of (has recorded) it while they have forgotten it. And Allah is a Witness over all things.
58/Al-Mujadila-7: Alam tara anna Allaha yaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi ma yakoonu min najwa thalathatin illa huwa rabiAAuhum wala khamsatin illa huwa sadisuhum wala adna min thalika wala akthara illa huwa maAAahum ayna ma kanoo thumma yunabbiohum bima AAamiloo yawma alqiyamati inna Allaha bikulli shayin AAaleemun
Have you not seen that Allah knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth? There is no secret counsel of three but He is the fourth of them, nor of five but He is the sixth of them, nor of less than that or more but He is with them (with His Knowledge) wheresoever they may be. And afterwards on the Day of Resurrection He will inform them of what they did; surely Allah is All-Knower (Cognizant) of all things.
58/Al-Mujadila-8: Alam tara ila allatheena nuhoo AAani alnnajwa thumma yaAAoodoona lima nuhoo AAanhu wayatanajawna bialithmi waalAAudwani wamaAAsiyati alrrasooli waitha jaooka hayyawka bima lam yuhayyika bihi Allahu wayaqooloona fee anfusihim lawla yuAAaththibuna Allahu bima naqoolu hasbuhum jahannamu yaslawnaha fabisa almaseeru
Have you not seen those who are forbidden (prevented) secret counsels, then they return to what they are forbidden (prevented), and they hold secret counsels for the sin and the hostility and disobedience to the Messenger; and when they come to you, they greet you with a greeting with which Allah does not greet you, and they say within themselves (within their souls): Should Allah not torment (punish) us for what we say? Hell is sufficient for them; they will burn in it (they will prop themselves against it) and evil indeed is that destination (journey’s end).
58/Al-Mujadila-9: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha tanajaytum fala tatanajaw bialithmi waalAAudwani wamaAAsiyati alrrasooli watanajaw bialbirri waalttaqwa waittaqoo Allaha allathee ilayhi tuhsharoona
O you who believe! When you hold secret counsel (when you converse in private) do not speak with wickedness and enmity and disobedience to the Messenger, but give to each other counsel of goodness (Al-Birr, that which renders you worthy of Paradise) and piety (At-Takwâ) and become the owners of piety towards Allah, to Whom you shall be gathered together.
58/Al-Mujadila-10: Innama alnnajwa mina alshshaytani liyahzuna allatheena amanoo walaysa bidarrihim shayan illa biithni Allahi waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona
Secret counsels (conspiracies) are only from Satan that he may cause to grieve those who believe (who wish to reach Allah before dying), and he cannot harm them in the least except with Allah’s Permission; And in Allah let the believers put their trust.
58/Al-Mujadila-11: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha qeela lakum tafassahoo fee almajalisi faifsahoo yafsahi Allahu lakum waitha qeela onshuzoo faonshuzoo yarfaAAi Allahu allatheena amanoo minkum waallatheena ootoo alAAilma darajatin waAllahu bima taAAmaloona khabeerun
O you who believe (who are âmenû)! When it is said to you: Make room in (your) assemblies, then make ample room, Allah will give you ample room; and when it is said: rise up, then rise up. Allah will exalt those of you who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah before dying), and those who are given knowledge, in high degrees; and Allah is All-Aware of what you do (and Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do, “Habîr”).
58/Al-Mujadila-12: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha najaytumu alrrasoola faqaddimoo bayna yaday najwakum sadaqatan thalika khayrun lakum waatharu fain lam tajidoo fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before dying)! When you consult the Messenger in private, then give alms before your private consultation; that is better for you and purer; but if you do not find (the means), then surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
58/Al-Mujadila-13: Aashfaqtum an tuqaddimoo bayna yaday najwakum sadaqatin faith lam tafAAaloo wataba Allahu AAalaykum faaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata waateeAAoo Allaha warasoolahu waAllahu khabeerun bima taAAmaloona
Are you afraid of giving alms before your private consultation (with him)? So when you do not do it and Allah has turned to you (in repentance), then keep up the prayer(s) and pay the poor-rate (Az-Zakât) and obey Allah and His Messenger; and Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
58/Al-Mujadila-14: Alam tara ila allatheena tawallaw qawman ghadiba Allahu AAalayhim ma hum minkum wala minhum wayahlifoona AAala alkathibi wahum yaAAlamoona
Have you not seen those who have turned (befriended) to a people (the Jews) who have incurred the Wrath of Allah? They are neither of you nor of them (of the Jews), and they knowingly swear to a lie.
58/Al-Mujadila-15: aAAadda Allahu lahum AAathaban shadeedan innahum saa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
Allah has prepared for them (the hypocrites) a severe torment; surely what they do is evil.
58/Al-Mujadila-16: Ittakhathoo aymanahum junnatan fasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi falahum AAathabun muheenun
They have made their oaths a screen (for their evil actions). Thus they hinder (men) from the Way of Allah: so for them there is an abasing torment.
58/Al-Mujadila-17: Lan tughniya AAanhum amwaluhum wala awladuhum mina Allahi shayan olaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona
Neither their wealth nor their children shall avail them nothing against Allah; they are the inmates of the Fire; therein they shall abide (forever).
58/Al-Mujadila-18: Yawma yabAAathuhumu Allahu jameeAAan fayahlifoona lahu kama yahlifoona lakum wayahsaboona annahum AAala shayin ala innahum humu alkathiboona
On the Day when Allah will raise them up all, then they will swear to Him as they now swear to you, and they think (reckon) that they are upon something; now surely they are the liars, are they not?
58/Al-Mujadila-19: Istahwatha AAalayhimu alshshaytanu faansahum thikra Allahi olaika hizbu alshshaytani ala inna hizba alshshaytani humu alkhasiroona
Satan has gained the mastery (prevailed) over them, so he has made them forget the remembrance (dhikr) of Allah; they are the party of Satan; now surely Satan’s party are the losers (those who are in Loss), are they not?
58/Al-Mujadila-20: Inna allatheena yuhaddoona Allaha warasoolahu olaika fee alathalleena
Surely (as for) those who oppose (who exceed the limits against) Allah and His messenger; they will be among the most abased.
58/Al-Mujadila-21: Kataba Allahu laaghlibanna ana warusulee inna Allaha qawiyyun AAazeezun
Allah has written down (decreed): I will most certainly prevail, I and My Messengers; surely Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.
58/Al-Mujadila-22: La tajidu qawman yuminoona biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri yuwaddoona man hadda Allaha warasoolahu walaw kanoo abaahum aw abnaahum aw ikhwanahum aw AAasheeratahum olaika kataba fee quloobihimu aleemana waayyadahum biroohin minhu wayudkhiluhum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha radiya Allahu AAanhum waradoo AAanhu olaika hizbu Allahi ala inna hizba Allahi humu almuflihoona
You shall not find a people who believe in Allah and the Latter Day (in reaching Allah before dying) befriending those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred; these are they into whose (souls’) hearts He has written (the) Faith and whom He has strengthened with a Spirit from Him (the spirit of the Imam of the Age educated in His Presence settles over their heads): and He will cause them to enter Gardens under which the rivers flow, abiding therein (forever); Allah is Well-Pleased with them and they are well-pleased with Him; these are Allah’s Party: now surely the Party of Allah are the successful ones (those who have attained the Salvation), are they not?
