70/Al-Ma'arij-1: Saala sailun biAAathabin waqiAAin
One demanding, demanded the torment about to befall.
70/Al-Ma'arij-2: Lilkafireena laysa lahu dafiAAun
For the disbelievers, there is none to avert it.
70/Al-Ma'arij-3: Mina Allahi thee almaAAariji
(That torment is) from Allah, the Owner of the Ascending Stairways.
70/Al-Ma'arij-4: TaAAruju almalaikatu waalrroohu ilayhi fee yawmin kana miqdaruhu khamseena alfa sanatin
To Him ascend the angels and the Spirit in a Day the measure of which is fifty thousand years.
70/Al-Ma'arij-5: Faisbir sabran jameelan
So be patient with a becoming patience.
70/Al-Ma'arij-6: Innahum yarawnahu baAAeedan
Surely they see it (the torment that will ocur) far off.
70/Al-Ma'arij-7: Wanarahu qareeban
And We see it near at hand.
70/Al-Ma'arij-8: Yawma takoonu alssamao kaalmuhli
On that Day (of Torment) the heaven shall be as molten copper (like the boiling filth of oil)
70/Al-Ma'arij-9: Watakoonu aljibalu kaalAAihni
And the mountains shall be as flakes of wool (multicolored)
70/Al-Ma'arij-10: Wala yasalu hameemun hameeman
And no intimate friend will ask of intimate friend.
70/Al-Ma'arij-11: Yubassaroonahum yawaddu almujrimu law yaftadee min AAathabi yawmiithin bibaneehi
They shall be made to see one another, the criminal (the guilty) one would fain redeem himself from the torment of that Day by(sacrificing)his children,
70/Al-Ma'arij-12: Wasahibatihi waakheehi
And his wife and his brother,
70/Al-Ma'arij-13: Wafaseelatihi allatee tuweehi
his kindred who sheltered him,
70/Al-Ma'arij-14: Waman fee alardi jameeAAan thumma yunjeehi
And all that are in the earth, so that it might deliever him.
70/Al-Ma'arij-15: Kalla innaha latha
By no means! Surely it (of which he wants to get rid) is a flaming Fire.
70/Al-Ma'arij-16: NazzaAAatan lilshshawa
Taking away (burning completely) the skin of the head (the parts of the body).
70/Al-Ma'arij-17: TadAAoo man adbara watawalla
And it will call him who turned his back and turned away his face (from Faith)
70/Al-Ma'arij-18: WajamaAAa faawAAa
And him who amassed (wealth)then covetously hoarded them.
70/Al-Ma'arij-19: Inna alinsana khuliqa halooAAan
Surely man is created very impatient and addicted to his greed.
70/Al-Ma'arij-20: Itha massahu alshsharru jazooAAan
When evil touches him, he cries out (he is despondent, irritable…).
70/Al-Ma'arij-21: Waitha massahu alkhayru manooAAan
And (he is) niggardly when good touches him.
70/Al-Ma'arij-22: Illa almusalleena
Except those who are devoted to Salât (prayers).
70/Al-Ma'arij-23: Allatheena hum AAala salatihim daimoona
Those who remain constant in prayer(s).
70/Al-Ma'arij-24: Waallatheena fee amwalihim haqqun maAAloomun
And those in whose wealth there is a recognised(fixed) right.
70/Al-Ma'arij-25: Lilssaili waalmahroomi
For the beggar (who asks) and the destitude (deprived)
70/Al-Ma'arij-26: Waallatheena yusaddiqoona biyawmi alddeeni
And those who confirm the Day of the Religion (the Day of Judgment, of Recompense)
70/Al-Ma'arij-27: Waallatheena hum min AAathabi rabbihim mushfiqoona
And those who are fearfull of the Torment of their Lord
70/Al-Ma'arij-28: Inna AAathaba rabbihim ghayru mamoonin
Surely the Torment of their Lord is (a thing) not to be felt secure of.
70/Al-Ma'arij-29: Waallatheena hum lifuroojihim hafithoona
And those who guard their chastity (i.e private parts from illegal sexual acts)
70/Al-Ma'arij-30: Illa AAala azwajihim aw ma malakat aymanuhum fainnahum ghayru maloomeena
Except with their wives and those (women slaves) whom their right hands possess; for these surely are not to be blamed.
70/Al-Ma'arij-31: Famani ibtagha waraa thalika faolaika humu alAAadoona
But he who seeks beyond that, these it is that are trespassers (that go beyond the limits).
70/Al-Ma'arij-32: Waallatheena hum liamanatihim waAAahdihim raAAoona
And those who comply with (observe) their trusts and their covenant(pact).
70/Al-Ma'arij-33: Waallatheena hum bishahadatihim qaimoona
And those who stand firm in their testimonies.
70/Al-Ma'arij-34: Waallatheena hum AAala salatihim yuhafithoona
And those who keep a guard on their prayer.
70/Al-Ma'arij-35: Olaika fee jannatin mukramoona
Those shall be in Gardens, honored (guests treated generously)
70/Al-Ma'arij-36: Famali allatheena kafaroo qibalaka muhtiAAeena
But what is the matter with those who disbelieve that they hasten on around you,
70/Al-Ma'arij-37: AAani alyameeni waAAani alshshimali AAizeena
from the right hand and the left hand, in divers parties?
70/Al-Ma'arij-38: AyatmaAAu kullu imriin minhum an yudkhala jannata naAAeemin
Does every man of them hope to enter the Garden of Delight (Bliss and Abundance, ”Naîm”).
70/Al-Ma'arij-39: Kalla inna khalaqnahum mimma yaAAlamoona
By no means! Surely We have created them of what they know.
70/Al-Ma'arij-40: Fala oqsimu birabbi almashariqi waalmagharibi inna laqadiroona
But nay! (It is not so)! I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests that We are certainly Able
70/Al-Ma'arij-41: AAala an nubaddila khayran minhum wama nahnu bimasbooqeena
To replace them by (others) better than them, and We are not to be outrun(hindered)
70/Al-Ma'arij-42: Fatharhum yakhoodoo wayalAAaboo hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee yooAAadoona
So leave them to plunge in vain talk and play about, until they meet (reach) their Day which they are promised.
70/Al-Ma'arij-43: Yawma yakhrujoona mina alajdathi siraAAan kaannahum ila nusubin yoofidoona
The Day when they will come out of the graves quickly as racing to a goal.
70/Al-Ma'arij-44: KhashiAAatan absaruhum tarhaquhum thillatun thalika alyawmu allathee kanoo yooAAadoona
Their eyes cast down in fear, ignominy shall cover them; that is the Day which they were promised (threatened with).
