72/Al-Jinn-1: Qul oohiya ilayya annahu istamaAAa nafarun mina aljinni faqaloo inna samiAAna quranan AAajaban
Say: It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of the jinn listened (to the Qur’ân) and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Qur’ân.
72/Al-Jinn-2: Yahdee ila alrrushdi faamanna bihi walan nushrika birabbina ahadan
It guides to the immaterial Maturity (rushd), so we have believed in it, and we shall not join (in worship) anything (any one) with our Lord.
72/Al-Jinn-3: Waannahu taAAala jaddu rabbina ma ittakhatha sahibatan wala waladan
And that He-exalted is the Majesty of our Lord-has taken neither a wife nor a son (we believe in this)
72/Al-Jinn-4: Waannahu kana yaqoolu safeehuna AAala Allahi shatatan
And that the foolish amongst us used to utter against Allah extravagant things;
72/Al-Jinn-5: Waanna thananna an lan taqoola alinsu waaljinnu AAala Allahi kathiban
And that we thought that the men and the jinn did not utter a lie against Allah
72/Al-Jinn-6: Waannahu kana rijalun mina alinsi yaAAoothoona birijalin mina aljinni fazadoohum rahaqan
And verily, there were the males among mankind who took shelter with the males among the jinn, so they increased them in (their) putting on airs (in sin and transgression)
72/Al-Jinn-7: Waannahum thannoo kama thanantum an lan yabAAatha Allahu ahadan
And indeed they supposed (thought) even as you supposed, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead; Allah would not send any Messenger to mankind or jinn)
72/Al-Jinn-8: Waanna lamasna alssamaa fawajadnaha muliat harasan shadeedan washuhuban
And that we sought to reach the heaven; but we found it filled with guards and flaming fires (shuhûb)
72/Al-Jinn-9: Waanna kunna naqAAudu minha maqaAAida lilssamAAi faman yastamiAAi alana yajid lahu shihaban rasadan
And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flaming fire watching him im ambush.
72/Al-Jinn-10: Waanna la nadree asharrun oreeda biman fee alardi am arada bihim rabbuhum rashadan
And that we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them their attaining to immaterial maturity.
72/Al-Jinn-11: Waanna minna alssalihoona waminna doona thalika kunna taraiqa qidadan
And that some of us are the improved ones and others are far from that: we have been sects in different ways.
72/Al-Jinn-12: Wanna thananna an lan nuAAjiza Allaha fee alardi walan nuAAjizahu haraban
And that we have understood that we cannot render(Allah) impotent [we cannot escape] in the earth, nor can we render Him impotent (nor can we escape Him) by flight(from Him)
72/Al-Jinn-13: Waanna lamma samiAAna alhuda amanna bihi faman yumin birabbihi fala yakhafu bakhsan wala rahaqan
And that we have understood that we cannot render(Allah) impotent [we cannot escape] in the earth, nor can we render Him impotent (nor can we escape Him) by flight(from Him)
72/Al-Jinn-14: Waanna minna almuslimoona waminna alqasitoona faman aslama faolaika taharraw rashadan
And that surely some of us are those who have surrendered (to Allah), and some of us are “Al-Qâsitûn” (those whose hearts have been darkened and hardened and thus have deviated from the right way of Allah), so whoever has surrendered (to Allah, whoever has submitted his spirit to Allah), these seek for attaining to the incorporeal maturity (aim at the surrender of the soul and the free will).
72/Al-Jinn-15: Waama alqasitoona fakanoo lijahannama hataban
And as for the Qâsitûn (those whose hearts have been darkened and hardened because of “dhikr”), they have been firewood for Hell.
72/Al-Jinn-16: Waallawi istaqamoo AAala alttareeqati laasqaynahum maan ghadaqan
And that if they should turn (to Allah) being on the roads (tariqat, seven roads binding the seven heavenly layers to each other in the journeying towards Allah), we would certainly give them to drink of abundant water (mercy).
72/Al-Jinn-17: Linaftinahum feehi waman yuAArid AAan thikri rabbihi yaslukhu AAathaban saAAadan
So that we might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns away from the Reminder (the Qur’ân, the remembrance, dhikr) of his Lord, He will make him enter into ever growing torment:
72/Al-Jinn-18: Waanna almasajida lillahi fala tadAAoo maAAa Allahi ahadan
And that the places of worship (the mosques) are Allah’s, therefore do not call upon any one with Allah:
72/Al-Jinn-19: Waannahu lamma qama AAabdu Allahi yadAAoohu kadoo yakoonoona AAalayhi libadan
And that when the servant of Allah (the Prophet) stood up calling upon Him (reciting the Qur’an) they crowded on him, almost stifling (as if sticking one over the other).
72/Al-Jinn-20: Qul innama adAAoo rabbee wala oshriku bihi ahadan
Say: I only call upon my Lord, and I do not associate any one with Him.
72/Al-Jinn-21: Qul innee la amliku lakum darran wala rashadan
Say: It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to make you attain to the incorporeal maturity.
72/Al-Jinn-22: Qul innee lan yujeeranee mina Allahi ahadun walan ajida min doonihi multahadan
Say: Surely no one can protect me against Allah, nor can I find besides Him any place of refuge.
72/Al-Jinn-23: Illa balaghan mina Allahi warisalatihi waman yaAAsi Allaha warasoolahu fainna lahu nara jahannama khalideena feeha abadan
(It is) only a conveyance (of what is) from Allah and His Messages; and whoever disobeys (rebels against) Allah and His Messenger, surely for him there is the Fire of Hell to abide in it forever.
72/Al-Jinn-24: Hatta itha raaw ma yooAAadoona fasayaAAlamoona man adAAafu nasiran waaqallu AAadadan
Until, when they see what they are promised (threatened with) then shall they know who is weaker in helpers and fewer in number.
72/Al-Jinn-25: Qul in adree aqareebun ma tooAAadoona am yajAAalu lahu rabbee amadan
Say: I do not know whether that which you are promised (threatened with) is near or whether my Lord will apport for it a distant term.
72/Al-Jinn-26: AAalimu alghaybi fala yuthhiru AAala ghaybihi ahadan
(He is) the Knower of the Unseen! So he does not disclose His Unseen (His Secrets) to anyone.
72/Al-Jinn-27: Illa mani irtada min rasoolin fainnahu yasluku min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi rasadan
Except to him with him He is Well-Pleased (to him who has attained to the Assent of Disposal). In that case He makes a band of watching guards to march before him and behind him.
72/Al-Jinn-28: LiyaAAlama an qad ablaghoo risalati rabbihim waahata bima ladayhim waahsa kulla shayin AAadadan
So that He may know that they have truly conveyed the Messages of the Lord, and He encompasses (surrounds) what is with them (with His Knowledge) and He records the number of all things (He keeps count of all things).
