49/Al-Hujurat-1: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tuqaddimoo bayna yadayi Allahi warasoolihi waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun
O you who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah)! Do not be forward in the Presence of Allah and His Messenger, and be the owners of piety (have piety) towards Allah; surely Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
49/Al-Hujurat-2: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tarfaAAoo aswatakum fawqa sawti alnnabiyyi wala tajharoo lahu bialqawli kajahri baAAdikum libaAAdin an tahbata aAAmalukum waantum la tashAAuroona
O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah)! Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, and do not speak loud to him as you speak loud to one another, lest your deeds should become null while you do not perceive.
49/Al-Hujurat-3: Inna allatheena yaghuddoona aswatahum AAinda rasooli Allahi olaika allatheena imtahana Allahu quloobahum lilttaqwa lahum maghfiratun waajrun AAatheemun
Surely those who lower (subdue) their voices in the presence of the Messenger of Allah are they whose hearts Allah has proven (tested) for the Piety (Takwâ); for them is forgiveness and a great reward (a great wage).
49/Al-Hujurat-4: Inna allatheena yunadoonaka min warai alhujurati aktharuhum la yaAAqiloona
(As for) those who call out to you from behind the private apartments (chambers), surely most of them do not use their intelligence (reason).
49/Al-Hujurat-5: Walaw annahum sabaroo hatta takhruja ilayhim lakana khayran lahum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun
And if they wait patiently until you come out to them, it would certainly be better for them, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
49/Al-Hujurat-6: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in jaakum fasiqun binabain fatabayyanoo an tuseeboo qawman bijahalatin fatusbihoo AAala ma faAAaltum nadimeena
O you who believe (who are âmenû) if a Fâsiq (who is not in the Way of Allah or has gone out of it) brings you some news, inquire into it carefully, lest you should harm a people in ignorance, then be sorry (become regretful) for what you have done.
49/Al-Hujurat-7: WaiAAlamoo anna feekum rasoola Allahi law yuteeAAukum fee katheerin mina alamri laAAanittum walakinna Allaha habbaba ilaykumu aleemana wazayyanahu fee quloobikum wakarraha ilaykumu alkufra waalfusooqa waalAAisyana olaika humu alrrashidoona
And know that among you there is the Messenger of Allah; if he were to obey you in many a matter, you would surely be in trouble, but Allah has caused you to love the Faith and has adorned it in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you the Disbelief, and transgression (wickedness, fusûq) and rebellion (disobedience). Such are they who have attained to the Immaterial Maturity (Râshidûn).
49/Al-Hujurat-8: Fadlan mina Allahi waniAAmatan waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun
(This is) a Grace [(the light of) Virtue] from Allah and His Blessing. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
49/Al-Hujurat-9: Wain taifatani mina almumineena iqtataloo faaslihoo baynahuma fain baghat ihdahuma AAala alokhra faqatiloo allatee tabghee hatta tafeea ila amri Allahi fain faat faaslihoo baynahuma bialAAadli waaqsitoo inna Allaha yuhibbu almuqsiteena
And if two parties (groups) of the believers fall to mutual fighting, make peace between them; but if one of them outrages against the other, then fight you (all) against that which outrages till it complies with the Command of Allah, then if it complies, then make peace (reconciliation) between them justly and act equitably; surely Allah loves those who act equitably.
49/Al-Hujurat-10: Innama almuminoona ikhwatun faaslihoo bayna akhawaykum waittaqoo Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona
The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islâmic Religion). So make reconciliation (peace) between your brothers, and have piety towards Allah that Mercy may be had on you.
49/Al-Hujurat-11: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la yaskhar qawmun min qawmin AAasa an yakoonoo khayran minhum wala nisaon min nisain AAasa an yakunna khayran minhunna wala talmizoo anfusakum wala tanabazoo bialalqabi bisa alismu alfusooqu baAAda aleemani waman lam yatub faolaika humu alththalimoona
O you who believe (who are âmenû)! Let not (one) people laugh at (another) people, it may be that these are better than they, nor let women (laugh) at (other) women, it may be that these (the latter) are better than they (the former). Do not defame (denigrate) one another, nor call one another by nicknames; evil is a bad name after the Faith, and whoever does not turn (in repentance), then such are indeed the wrong-doers.
49/Al-Hujurat-12: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ijtaniboo katheeran mina alththanni inna baAAda alththanni ithmun wala tajassasoo wala yaghtab baAAdukum baAAdan ayuhibbu ahadukum an yakula lahma akheehi maytan fakarihtumoohu waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha tawwabun raheemun
O you who believe (who are âmenû)! Keep away from the conjecture (guess) very much; indeed some conjectures (suspicions) are sins, and do not spy (on one another) nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? But you abhor it; and have piety towards Allah, surely Allah is Oft-Returning (the One Who accepts repentance), Most Merciful.
49/Al-Hujurat-13: Ya ayyuha alnnasu inna khalaqnakum min thakarin waontha wajaAAalnakum shuAAooban waqabaila litaAAarafoo inna akramakum AAinda Allahi atqakum inna Allaha AAaleemun khabeerun
O mankind! Surely We have created you from a male and a female, and made you nations (shu’ûb) and tribes (qabâ’il), that you may recognize one another; surely the most honorable of you with Allah (in the Sight of Allah) is he who is the most pious of you; surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.
49/Al-Hujurat-14: Qalati alaAArabu amanna qul lam tuminoo walakin qooloo aslamna walamma yadkhuli aleemanu fee quloobikum wain tuteeAAoo Allaha warasoolahu la yalitkum min aAAmalikum shayan inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
The Arabs of the desert said: We have been âmenû. Say (to them): You have not been âmenû (You have not wished to reach Allah before dying), but say: We have surrendered (We have entered into the circle of Islam); and the Faith has not yet entered into your (souls’) hearts; and if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not diminish anything of your deeds; surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
49/Al-Hujurat-15: Innama almuminoona allatheena amanoo biAllahi warasoolihi thumma lam yartaboo wajahadoo biamwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi olaika humu alssadiqoona
The (true) believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, then they do not doubt and struggle hard with their wealth and their lives in the Way of Allah; they indeed are the truthful ones.
49/Al-Hujurat-16: Qul atuAAallimoona Allaha bideenikum waAllahu yaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi waAllahu bikulli shayin AAaleemun
Say: Would you teach Allah your religion while Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; and Allah is All-Aware of everything.
49/Al-Hujurat-17: Yamunnoona AAalayka an aslamoo qul la tamunnoo AAalayya islamakum bali Allahu yamunnu AAalaykum an hadakum lileemani in kuntum sadiqeena
They want to lay you under an obligation by becoming Muslims (by submitting). Say: Do not lay me under obligation by your Islam (Do not count your Islam as a favor to me). Nay, but Allah lays you under an obligation by guiding you to the Faith if you are truthful.
49/Al-Hujurat-18: Inna Allaha yaAAlamu ghayba alssamawati waalardi waAllahu baseerun bima taAAmaloona
Surely Allah knows the Unseen of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do.
