69/Al-Haqqa-1: Alhaqqatu
The Inevitable (the Reality,the Inevitable Event whose occurence is sure)!
69/Al-Haqqa-2: Ma alhaqqatu
What is the Inevitable (event whose taking place is without doubt)?
69/Al-Haqqa-3: Wama adraka ma alhaqqatu
And what would make you realize what the Inevitable (Event that will happen) is?
69/Al-Haqqa-4: Kaththabat thamoodu waAAadun bialqariAAati
(The tribes of) Thamûd and ‘Âd denied (belied) the “Qâri’ah” (the striking Hour of Judgement, the Dreadful Event)
69/Al-Haqqa-5: Faamma thamoodu faohlikoo bialttaghiyati
Then as to Thamûd, they were destroyed by an excesively severe torment.
69/Al-Haqqa-6: Waamma AAadun faohlikoo bireehin sarsarin AAatiyatin
And as to ‘Âd, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring, excessively cold wind.
69/Al-Haqqa-7: Sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalin wathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fatara alqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin khawiyatun
Which He made to prevail against them seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein lying owerthrown as if they were hollow trunks of palm-trees.
69/Al-Haqqa-8: Fahal tara lahum min baqiyatin
Do you then see of them any remnant?
69/Al-Haqqa-9: Wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu waalmutafikatu bialkhatiati
And Pharaoh and those before him and the overthrown cities came with the great fault (they had denied the Day of Resurrection, the account to be given to Allah, being punished…).
69/Al-Haqqa-10: FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiyatan
And they disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a vehement Seizure.
69/Al-Haqqa-11: Inna lamma tagha almao hamalnakum fee aljariyati
Surely We bore you up in the floating (Ark) when the water rose high (rose beyond its limits).
69/Al-Haqqa-12: LinajAAalaha lakum tathkiratan wataAAiyaha othunun waAAiyatun
So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it.
69/Al-Haqqa-13: Faitha nufikha fee alssoori nafkhatun wahidatun
And when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast (one blowing).
69/Al-Haqqa-14: Wahumilati alardu waaljibalu fadukkata dakkatan wahidatan
And the earth and the mountains are borne away (removed from their places) and crushed with a single crush.
69/Al-Haqqa-15: Fayawmaithin waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu
Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall
69/Al-Haqqa-16: Wainshaqqati alssamao fahiya yawmaithin wahiyatun
And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that Day it shall be frail (its equilibrium is spoilt).
69/Al-Haqqa-17: Waalmalaku AAala arjaiha wayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawmaithin thamaniyatun
And the angel(s) will be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that Day (of Permission) the Throne of your Lord.
69/Al-Haqqa-18: Yawmaithin tuAAradoona la takhfa minkum khafiyatun
On that Day you shall be presented (to your Lord), no secret of yours shall remain hidden.
69/Al-Haqqa-19: Faamma man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi fayaqoolu haomu iqraoo kitabiyah
Then as for him who is given his book (his life film) in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book!
69/Al-Haqqa-20: Innee thanantu annee mulaqin hisabiyah
Surely I know that I should have to meet (reach) my Account!
69/Al-Haqqa-21: Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin
So he shall be in a life with which he will be pleased.
69/Al-Haqqa-22: Fee jannatin AAaliyatin
In a lofty Garden (Paradise)
69/Al-Haqqa-23: Qutoofuha daniyatun
The (ripe) fruits of which are near at hand.
69/Al-Haqqa-24: Kuloo waishraboo haneean bima aslaftum fee alayyami alkhaliyati
Eat and drink to your heart’s content (pleasantly, at ease) for what you did beforehand in the days gone by.
69/Al-Haqqa-25: Waamma man ootiya kitabahu bishimalihi fayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oota kitabiyah
And as for him who is given his book (his life film) in his left hand, he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me;
69/Al-Haqqa-26: Walam adri ma hisabiyah
And I had not known what my Account was;
69/Al-Haqqa-27: Ya laytaha kanati alqadiyatu
O would that it (my life) had ended (when dying)
69/Al-Haqqa-28: Ma aghna AAannee maliyah
My wealth has availed me nothing.
69/Al-Haqqa-29: Halaka AAannee sultaniyah
My authority (my power of wealth) is gone away from me.
69/Al-Haqqa-30: Khuthoohu faghulloohu
(It will be said): Seize him and fetter (bind) him.
69/Al-Haqqa-31: Thumma aljaheema salloohu
Then throw him into the blazing Fire
69/Al-Haqqa-32: Thumma fee silsilatin tharAAuha sabAAoona thiraAAan faoslukoohu
Then thrust him (into Hell) into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits.
69/Al-Haqqa-33: Innahu kana la yuminu biAllahi alAAatheemi
Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Most Great (The Tremendous),
69/Al-Haqqa-34: Wala yahuddu AAala taAAami almiskeeni
Nor did he urge the feeding of the needy.
69/Al-Haqqa-35: Falaysa lahu alyawma hahuna hameemun
Therefore he has not here today an intimate friend.
69/Al-Haqqa-36: Wala taAAamun illa min ghisleenin
Nor any food except bloody pus (filth from the washing of wounds).
69/Al-Haqqa-37: La yakuluhu illa alkhatioona
None will eat it except the sinners(the knowingly faulty ones).
69/Al-Haqqa-38: Fala oqsimu bima tubsiroona
But nay! I swear by that which you see.
69/Al-Haqqa-39: Wama la tubsiroona
And that which you do not see.
69/Al-Haqqa-40: Innahu laqawlu rasoolin kareemin
Most surely it is the Word of an honored (noble, generous) Messenger.
69/Al-Haqqa-41: Wama huwa biqawli shaAAirin qaleelan ma tuminoona
And it is not the word of a poet; little is it that you believe!
69/Al-Haqqa-42: Wala biqawli kahinin qaleelan ma tathakkaroona
Nor the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you deliberate (remember).
69/Al-Haqqa-43: Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena
It is a Descent (a Revelation) from the Lord of the Worlds.
69/Al-Haqqa-44: Walaw taqawwala AAalayna baAAda alaqaweeli
And if he had fabricated against Us some of the sayings,
69/Al-Haqqa-45: Laakhathna minhu bialyameeni
We would certainly have seized him by the right hand
69/Al-Haqqa-46: Thumma laqataAAna minhu alwateena
Then We would certainly have cut off his aorta (his life artery).
69/Al-Haqqa-47: Fama minkum min ahadin AAanhu hajizeena
And none of you could have held us off from him.
69/Al-Haqqa-48: Wainnahu latathkiratun lilmuttaqeena
And most surely it (the Qur’ân) is a Reminder for the owners of piety (the pious, muttaqîn).
69/Al-Haqqa-49: Wainna lanaAAlamu anna minkum mukaththibeena
And most surely We know that some of you are rejecters (who belie this Qur’ân).
69/Al-Haqqa-50: Wainnahu lahasratun AAala alkafireena
And most surely it is indeed an anguish for the disbelievers
69/Al-Haqqa-51: Wainnahu lahaqqu alyaqeeni
And most surely it is indeed the true certainty (an absolute truth with certainty)
69/Al-Haqqa-52: Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi
So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Great (The Tremendous)!
