85/Al-Buruj-1: Waalssamai thati alburooji
(I swear) by the heaven holding the Constellations.
85/Al-Buruj-2: Waalyawmi almawAAoodi
And (by) the Promised Day.
85/Al-Buruj-3: Washahidin wamashhoodin
And (by) the witness and the witnessed (by the seer and the seen).
85/Al-Buruj-4: Qutila ashabu alukhdoodi
Destroyed (Cursed) were the people of the Ditch (Trench)!
85/Al-Buruj-5: Alnnari thati alwaqoodi
The people, the companions) of the fire with fuel (in it).
85/Al-Buruj-6: Ith hum AAalayha quAAoodun
When they sat by (around) it.
85/Al-Buruj-7: Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bialmumineena shuhoodun
They were watching (witnesses of) what they were doing against the believers.
85/Al-Buruj-8: Wama naqamoo minhum illa an yuminoo biAllahi alAAazeezi alhameedi
And they did not take vengeance on them for anything except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, the Most Praised (the Praiseworthy).
85/Al-Buruj-9: Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi waAllahu AAala kulli shayin shaheedun
Whose is the Sovereignty (the Kingdom, the Dominion) of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over everything.
85/Al-Buruj-10: Inna allatheena fatanoo almumineena waalmuminati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqi
Surely (as for) those who persecute (put into trial) the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent (do not turn in repentance to Allah), then for them there is the torment of Hell and for them there is the torment of burning.
85/Al-Buruj-11: Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu thalika alfawzu alkabeeru
Surely (as for) those who believe (who wish to reach Allah while they are alive) and do improving deeds (that purify the souls’ hearts), for them there are Gardens under which the rivers flow, that is the greatest achievement (the greatest Salvation).
85/Al-Buruj-12: Inna batsha rabbika lashadeedun
Surely the Seizure of your Lord is indeed severe (and painful).
85/Al-Buruj-13: Innahu huwa yubdio wayuAAeedu
He it is Who originates (the Creation of everything) and then restore it (brings back to its former state).
85/Al-Buruj-14: Wahuwa alghafooru alwadoodu
And He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Loving.
85/Al-Buruj-15: Thoo alAAarshi almajeedi
Owner of the ‘Arsh (Throne), the Glorious.
85/Al-Buruj-16: FaAAAAalun lima yureedu
(He is the) Doer of whatever He wills.
85/Al-Buruj-17: Hal ataka hadeethu aljunoodi
Has the story of the hosts (armies) come to you,
85/Al-Buruj-18: FirAAawna wathamooda
Of (the hosts, forces of) Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamûd?
85/Al-Buruj-19: Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheebin
Nay! The disbelievers (persist) in denying (in giving the lie to the Truth).
85/Al-Buruj-20: WaAllahu min waraihim muheetun
And Allah encompasses them from behind (on every side).
85/Al-Buruj-21: Bal huwa quranun majeedun
Nay! It is a Glorious Qur’ân.
85/Al-Buruj-22: Fee lawhin mahfoothin
