Sura List » Al-Anbiyaa

21/Al-Anbiyaa-1: Iqtaraba lilnnasi hisabuhum wahum fee ghaflatin muAAridoona
Their reckoning has drawn near to men (mankind), and in heedlessness are they turning aside.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-2: Ma yateehim min thikrin min rabbihim muhdathin illa istamaAAoohu wahum yalAAaboona
There does not come to them a new reminder from their Lord but they hear it while they play (mock).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-3: Lahiyatan quloobuhum waasarroo alnnajwa allatheena thalamoo hal hatha illa basharun mithlukum afatatoona alssihra waantum tubsiroona
Their hearts trifling (their hearts attach no importance to what Allah says); those who do wrong counsel together in secret: He is nothing but a mortal (a human being) like yourselves; what! Will you then yield to the sorcery (magic, enchantment) while you see?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-4: Qala rabbee yaAAlamu alqawla fee alssamai waalardi wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
He said: My Lord knows what is spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-5: Bal qaloo adghathu ahlamin bali iftarahu bal huwa shaAAirun falyatina biayatin kama orsila alawwaloona
Nay, they say: Medleys of dreams; nay, he has forged it; nay! He is a poet; so let him bring to us a Sign (Miracle) as the former (prophets) were sent (with).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-6: Ma amanat qablahum min qaryatin ahlaknaha afahum yuminoona
Not one of the towns (populations), of those which We destroyed, believed before them: will they then believe?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-7: Wama arsalna qablaka illa rijalan noohee ilayhim faisaloo ahla alththikri in kuntum la taAAlamoona
And We did not send before you any but men to whom We revealed, so ask the owners of the (continuous) remembrance (dhikr) if you do not know.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-8: Wama jaAAalnahum jasadan la yakuloona alttaAAama wama kanoo khalideena
And We did not make them bodies not eating the food, and they were not to live forever (they were not eternal, immortal).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-9: Thumma sadaqnahumu alwaAAda faanjaynahum waman nashao waahlakna almusrifeena
Then We remained loyal to the Promise (Then We fulfilled the Promise to them), so We delivered them and those whom We willed, and We destroyed the extravagant (Al-Musrifûn=transgressors of Allah’s limits by committing crimes, oppressions, polytheism and sins).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-10: Laqad anzalna ilaykum kitaban feehi thikrukum afala taAAqiloona
Certainly We have sent down to you a Book (the Qur’ân) in which is your Remembrance, (which mentions you); what! Will you still not use your intelligence?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-11: Wakam qasamna min qaryatin kanat thalimatan waanshana baAAdaha qawman akhareena
How many a town which was iniquitous did We demolish (raze); and We raised up after it another people.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-12: Falamma ahassoo basana itha hum minha yarkudoona
So when they felt our severe punishment, behold, they began to flee from it.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-13: La tarkudoo wairjiAAoo ila ma otriftum feehi wamasakinikum laAAallakum tusaloona
Do not fly (now) and come back to what you were made to lead easy lives (to be spoilt) in and to your dwellings, that you may be questioned.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-14: Qaloo ya waylana inna kunna thalimeena
They said: O woe to us! Surely we were wrongdoers (unjust).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-15: Fama zalat tilka daAAwahum hatta jaAAalnahum haseedan khamideena
And this did not cease to be their cry (complaint) till We made them as a mown field, extinct.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-16: Wama khalaqna alssamaa waalarda wama baynahuma laAAibeena
And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them for a (mere) play (amusement).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-17: Law aradna an nattakhitha lahwan laittakhathnahu min ladunna in kunna faAAileena
If We had wished to make a diversion, We could surely have taken it from Our Presence, if We were going to do (that).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-18: Bal naqthifu bialhaqqi AAala albatili fayadmaghuhu faitha huwa zahiqun walakumu alwaylu mimma tasifoona
Nay, We cast the truth against the falsehood, so that it breaks its head, and behold, it vanishes; and woe to you for what you describe (of Us).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-19: Walahu man fee alssamawati waalardi waman AAindahu la yastakbiroona AAan AAibadatihi wala yastahsiroona
And whoever is in the heavens and the earth is His; and those who are in His Presence (those who keep up the Prayer before Him) are not proud to serve (be servants to) Him, nor do they grow weary.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-20: Yusabbihoona allayla waalnnahara la yafturoona
They glorify (Him) by night and day; they are never languid.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-21: Ami ittakhathoo alihatan mina alardi hum yunshiroona
Or have they taken gods from the earth who will raise (them)?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-22: Law kana feehima alihatun illa Allahu lafasadata fasubhana Allahi rabbi alAAarshi AAamma yasifoona
If there had been in them any gods except Allah, they would both have certainly been in a state of disorder; therefore Glory to Allah, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe (of Him, attribute to Him).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-23: La yusalu AAamma yafAAalu wahum yusaloona
He (Allah) cannot be questioned as to what He does, and they shall be questioned.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-24: Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi alihatan qul hatoo burhanakum hatha thikru man maAAiya wathikru man qablee bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona alhaqqa fahum muAAridoona
Or, have they taken gods besides Him? Say: Bring forth your proof; this is the Reminder (the Book) of those with me and the reminder of those before me. Nay! Most of them do not know the truth, so they turn aside.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-25: Wama arsalna min qablika min rasoolin illa noohee ilayhi annahu la ilaha illa ana faoAAbudooni
And We did not send before you any Messenger but We revealed to him that there is no god but Me, therefore serve (become a servant to) Me.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-26: Waqaloo ittakhatha alrrahmanu waladan subhanahu bal AAibadun mukramoona
And they say: The All-Merciful has taken (begotten) a son. Glory to Him! Nay, they are only honored servants.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-27: La yasbiqoonahu bialqawli wahum biamrihi yaAAmaloona
They do not precede Him in speech and (only) they act on His Command.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-28: YaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum wala yashfaAAoona illa limani irtada wahum min khashyatihi mushfiqoona
He knows what is before them and what is behind them (the guarding angels) and they do not intercede except for him who has reached the Consent (of Allah) and they are in awe for fear of Him.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-29: Waman yaqul minhum innee ilahun min doonihi fathalika najzeehi jahannama kathalika najzee alththalimeena
And whoever of them should say: Surely I am a god besides Him, such a one do We recompense (punish) with Hell; thus do We recompense (punish) the wrongdoers.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-30: Awalam yara allatheena kafaroo anna alssamawati waalarda kanata ratqan fafataqnahuma wajaAAalna mina almai kulla shayin hayyin afala yuminoona
Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece (a compact mass), then We parted them? And We have made of water everything living, will they not then believe?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-31: WajaAAalna fee alardi rawasiya an tameeda bihim wajaAAalna feeha fijajan subulan laAAallahum yahtadoona
And We have made firm mountains in the earth lest it might shake (be convulsed) with them; and We have made in it wide ways that they may be guided (to their goal) […reach Guidance].

21/Al-Anbiyaa-32: WajaAAalna alssamaa saqfan mahfoothan wahum AAan ayatiha muAAridoona
And We have made the heaven a well guarded canopy (roof) and (yet) they turn aside from their Signs (subtle Laws).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-33: Wahuwa allathee khalaqa allayla waalnnahara waalshshamsa waalqamara kullun fee falakin yasbahoona
And He it is Who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all travel along swiftly in their celestial spheres (Each swims, floats in its orbit).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-34: Wama jaAAalna libasharin min qablika alkhulda afain mitta fahumu alkhalidoona
And We did not make any mortal (human being) permanent (immortal) before you. What! Then if you die, will they abide (live on forever)?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-35: Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti wanablookum bialshsharri waalkhayri fitnatan wailayna turjaAAoona
Every soul is going to taste death and We will try (test) you by evil and good by way of probation and to Us you shall be brought back.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-36: Waitha raaka allatheena kafaroo in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahatha allathee yathkuru alihatakum wahum bithikri alrrahmani hum kafiroona
And when those who disbelieve see you, they do not take you except for mockery (jest): Is this he who mentions (speaks of) your gods? And they are disbelievers (deniers) of the Reminder (dhikr, the Book) of the All-Merciful (God).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-37: Khuliqa alinsanu min AAajalin saoreekum ayatee fala tastaAAjiloona
Man is created of haste; now, I will show to you My Signs, therefore do not ask Me to hasten (them) on.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-38: Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
And they say: When will these promises (come to pass) if you are truthful?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-39: Law yaAAlamu allatheena kafaroo heena la yakuffoona AAan wujoohihimu alnnara wala AAan thuhoorihim wala hum yunsaroona
If only those who disbelieved knew the time when they shall not be able to ward off the fire (of Hell) from their faces nor from their backs, nor shall they be helped!

21/Al-Anbiyaa-40: Bal tateehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum fala yastateeAAoona raddaha wala hum yuntharoona
Nay, it (the torment) shall come on them all of a sudden and will perplex (horrify) them, so they shall not have the power to avert it, nor shall they be respited (considered).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-41: Walaqadi istuhzia birusulin min qablika fahaqa biallatheena sakhiroo minhum ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona
And certainly Messengers before you were scoffed at, and then those who were scoffing at them were encompassed by what they were scoffing at.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-42: Qul man yaklaokum biallayli waalnnahari mina alrrahmani bal hum AAan thikri rabbihim muAAridoona
Say: Who guards you by night and day from (the torment of) the All-Merciful (God)? Nay, they turn aside from the Remembrance (dhikr, the Qur’an) of their Lord.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-43: Am lahum alihatun tamnaAAuhum min doonina la yastateeAAoona nasra anfusihim wala hum minna yushaboona
Or, have they gods who can guard them from Us (from Our torment)? They shall not be able to help themselves, nor shall they be looked after (by Us).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-44: Bal mattaAAna haolai waabaahum hatta tala AAalayhimu alAAumuru afala yarawna anna natee alarda nanqusuha min atrafiha afahumu alghaliboona
Nay, We gave provision to these and their fathers until life was prolonged to them. Do they not then see that We come to the earth to curtail it from its outlying borders? Are they then the victors?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-45: Qul innama onthirukum bialwahyi wala yasmaAAu alssummu aldduAAaa itha ma yuntharoona
Say: I warn you only by the Revelation and the deaf do not hear the call whenever they are warned. (…the deaf do not hear that with which they are warned).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-46: Walain massathum nafhatun min AAathabi rabbika layaqoolunna ya waylana inna kunna thalimeena
And if a breath (minor calamity) of the Torment of your Lord were to touch them, they will certainly say; O woe to us! Surely we were wrongdoers (unjust)!

21/Al-Anbiyaa-47: WanadaAAu almawazeena alqista liyawmi alqiyamati fala tuthlamu nafsun shayan wain kana mithqala habbatin min khardalin atayna biha wakafa bina hasibeena
And We will set up balances of justice on the Day of Resurrection, then no soul will be treated unjustly in anything, Even thought there be the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it (We will show it in the life film) And Sufficient are We to take account (the reckoners suffice us).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-48: Walaqad atayna moosa waharoona alfurqana wadiyaan wathikran lilmuttaqeena
And certainly We gave to Moses and Aaron the Criterion (of right and wrong, the Torah) and a Shining Light and a Reminder (Dhikr) for the owners of piety (the pious, Al-Muttaqûn).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-49: Allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bialghaybi wahum mina alssaAAati mushfiqoona
(For) those who are in awe of their Lord though they have not seen Him and they are in dread of the Hour (of Resurrection).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-50: Wahatha thikrun mubarakun anzalnahu afaantum lahu munkiroona
And this is a blessed Reminder (Dhikr) which We have sent down; will you then deny it?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-51: Walaqad atayna ibraheema rushdahu min qablu wakunna bihi AAalimeena
And certainly We gave to Abraham his (immaterial) maturity[the authorization to lead (men) to immaterial maturity (ırshad)] and We were the All-Knower of him [We knew that he was endowed with ırshad (immaterial maturity)].

21/Al-Anbiyaa-52: Ith qala liabeehi waqawmihi ma hathihi alttamatheelu allatee antum laha AAakifoona
When he(Abraham) said to his father and his people: What are these images to which you are devoted in worship?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-53: Qaloo wajadna abaana laha AAabideena
They said: We found our fathers worshipping them.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-54: Qala laqad kuntum antum waabaokum fee dalalin mubeenin
He (Abraham) said: Certainly you have been (both) you and your fathers in manifest Misguidance.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-55: Qaloo ajitana bialhaqqi am anta mina allaAAibeena
They said: Have you brought to us the truth, or are you of the triflers (of those who play about)?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-56: Qala bal rabbukum rabbu alssamawati waalardi allathee fatarahunna waana AAala thalikum mina alshshahideena
He said: Nay! Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who brought them into existence (by splitting away the initial compact mass=fatara), and I am of those who bear witness to this

21/Al-Anbiyaa-57: WataAllahi laakeedanna asnamakum baAAda an tuwalloo mudbireena
And, by Allah! I will certainly plot something against your idols after you go away, turning back.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-58: FajaAAalahum juthathan illa kabeeran lahum laAAallahum ilayhi yarjiAAoona
So he broke them into pieces, except the large one (the chief) of them, that haply they may return to it.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-59: Qaloo man faAAala hatha bialihatina innahu lamina alththalimeena
They said: Who has done this to our gods? Most surely he is one of the wrong-doers (unjust).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-60: Qaloo samiAAna fatan yathkuruhum yuqalu lahu ibraheemu
They said: We heard a youth called Abraham speaks of them.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-61: Qaloo fatoo bihi AAala aAAyuni alnnasi laAAallahum yashhadoona
They said: Then bring him before the eyes of the people, perhaps they may bear witness.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-62: Qaloo aanta faAAalta hatha bialihatina ya ibraheemu
They said: Have you done this to our gods, Abraham?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-63: Qala bal faAAalahu kabeeruhum hatha faisaloohum in kanoo yantiqoona
He said: Nay, this one, who is their chief has done it, so ask them, if they can speak.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-64: FarajaAAoo ila anfusihim faqaloo innakum antumu alththalimoona
So they turned to themselves and said: Surely you yourselves are the wrong-doers.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-65: Thumma nukisoo AAala ruoosihim laqad AAalimta ma haolai yantiqoona
Then they were made to hang down their heads (and said to Abraham): Certainly you know that they do not speak.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-66: Qala afataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yanfaAAukum shayan wala yadurrukum
He said: What! Do you then serve besides Allah what does not bring you any benefit at all, nor does it harm you?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-67: Offin lakum walima taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi afala taAAqiloona
Fie on you and on what you serve (worship) besides Allah; what! Do you not then use your intelligence (your mind)?

21/Al-Anbiyaa-68: Qaloo harriqoohu waonsuroo alihatakum in kuntum faAAileena
They said: Burn him and help your gods, if you are going to do (anything).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-69: Qulna ya naru koonee bardan wasalaman AAala ibraheema
We said: O fire! Be coolness and peace (safety) for Abraham.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-70: Waaradoo bihi kaydan fajaAAalnahumu alakhsareena
And they wished to snare him, but We caused them to fall into the greatest Loss (Husran) (We made them the greatest losers).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-71: Wanajjaynahu walootan ila alardi allatee barakna feeha lilAAalameena
And We delivered him as well as Lot (making them attain) to the land which We had blessed for the worlds (all peoples).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-72: Wawahabna lahu ishaqa wayaAAqooba nafilatan wakullan jaAAalna saliheena
And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob in addition (as a grandson) and We made each of them improved ones (salihîn).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-73: WajaAAalnahum aimmatan yahdoona biamrina waawhayna ilayhim fiAAla alkhayrati waiqama alssalati waeetaa alzzakati wakanoo lana AAabideena
And We made them Imams (religious leaders) who guided (people) [Who caused the men’s spirits to reach Allah before dying] by Our Command and We revealed to them the doing of good deeds (hayrat) and the keeping up of the Prayer (As-Salat) and the giving of the poor-rate (Az-zakat) and Us (Alone) did they serve, (they became servants to Us).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-74: Walootan ataynahu hukman waAAilman wanajjaynahu mina alqaryati allatee kanat taAAmalu alkhabaitha innahum kanoo qawma sawin fasiqeena
And (as for) Lot We gave him Wisdom and Knowledge and We delivered him from the town which practiced abominations; surely they were a people given to evil, were transgressors (Fâsiqûn=those who were not in the Way of Allah or had gone out of it).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-75: Waadkhalnahu fee rahmatina innahu mina alssaliheena
And We made him enter into Our Mercy; surely he was of the improved ones (sâlihîn).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-76: Wanoohan ith nada min qablu faistajabna lahu fanajjaynahu waahlahu mina alkarbi alAAatheemi
And Noah (Nûh), when he cried aforetime, so We answered him, and delivered him and his family (and followers) from the great distress.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-77: Wanasarnahu mina alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo biayatina innahum kanoo qawma sawin faaghraqnahum ajmaAAeena
And We helped him against the people who rejected (belied) Our Signs; surely they were an evil people, so We drowned them all (together).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-78: Wadawooda wasulaymana ith yahkumani fee alharthi ith nafashat feehi ghanamu alqawmi wakunna lihukmihim shahideena
And David and Solomon, when they gave judgment concerning the field when the people’s sheep pastured (without shepherd) therein by night, and We were Bearer of Witness to their judgment.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-79: Fafahhamnaha sulaymana wakullan atayna hukman waAAilman wasakhkharna maAAa dawooda aljibala yusabbihna waalttayra wakunna faAAileena
So We made Solomon (Sulaiman) to understand it (the judgment) and to each one We gave Wisdom (Judgement) and Knowledge; and We subjected the mountains glorifying (in order that they should glorify) and the birds (also) along with David (Davûd); and We were the Doer (of all these things).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-80: WaAAallamnahu sanAAata laboosin lakum lituhsinakum min basikum fahal antum shakiroona
And We taught him the making of coats of mail for you, that you might protect you each other’s violence of you.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-81: Walisulaymana alrreeha AAasifatan tajree biamrihi ila alardi allatee barakna feeha wakunna bikulli shayin AAalimeena
And for Solomon was the wind blowing violent. It flowed by His Command towards the land which We had blessed, and of all things We are the All-Knower.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-82: Wamina alshshayateeni man yaghoosoona lahu wayaAAmaloona AAamalan doona thalika wakunna lahum hafitheena
And of the devils (satans) there were those who dived for him and did other work besides that, and it was We Who guarded them.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-83: Waayyooba ith nada rabbahu annee massaniya alddurru waanta arhamu alrrahimeena
And (remember) Job, when he cried to his Lord: The harm has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-84: Faistajabna lahu fakashafna ma bihi min durrin waataynahu ahlahu wamithlahum maAAahum rahmatan min AAindina wathikra lilAAabideena
Therefore We responded to him (We accepted his invocation) and took of what was on him of the harm (we cured his disease), and We gave him his family and the like of them with them: a mercy from Us and a reminder (admonition) for the servants.

21/Al-Anbiyaa-85: WaismaAAeela waidreesa watha alkifli kullun mina alssabireena
And (remember) Ismael, and Enoch (Idrıs) and Isaiah (Dhu’l Kifl): all were of the patient ones (Sâbirîn).

21/Al-Anbiyaa-86: Waadkhalnahum fee rahmatina innahum mina alssaliheena
And We caused them to enter into Our Mercy; surely they were of the improved ones (sâlihîn).
